I dug this place overall. I did feel raped by the price though and the ingredient selection was pretty crappy. No feta or goat cheese, (just big chunks of average American & Jack), no nuts or good veg and no oil/vinegar option which annoyed me... The fact that I was eating a salad though, and not cramming my face full of deep dish greasiness elated me. I was able to forgive Salad Works and their poopy, unadventurous salad options. There's nothing worse than feeling bloated while traveling.....yuck. Oh, and the girl/woman who made my salad had a crappy attitude. She just had no personality and I think she may have infected my salad with her bad juju. No bueno. read more

I got a "create your own," and can I say, underwhelming? You get a choice of 5 "toppings." But they don't have any fresh veggies besides carrots and cucumbers. No meat besides turkey vs ham. No peppers. No pickles. Nothing I would usually get on a salad. I feel ripped off. They need to get more standard shaped bowls and put more focus into the quality of food they provide. I bet the bowls cost much more than the ingredients they used to "create" my TINY bowl of iceberg salad. I get it that this is the airport, but you can do better than that. Really. Pros: It's salad Cons: Overpriced ($10+ for a tiny bowl of iceberg lettuce. They should be ashamed of themselves) Limited topping choices (nothing good) Base is iceberg lettuce (seriously?!) The service was horrible and the servers were super SUPER stingy with their portions (I'm talking 5 pieces of 1cm cubes of turkey as my "meat" option). read more

Sophie's salad: good portion. Greens are a bit wilted but not too bad. Three stars. Service: one star. Indifferent and impatient at best even without a line waiting. Gee, lady, you don't have to work here if you don't like your job. You certainly do not have the right to be rude to customers. read more

If I could give 0 star I would. The food is terrible. For 10 dollars you get maybe 50cents of the veggie. And the sales lady is so angry and mad with no reason. Will never eat there again!! read more

I expect more from a salad. And you should too. I got the Bently (tm) which is essentially a chef salad. I asked them to switch out the iceberg for spring mix, which they sort of did (leaving some iceberg), for an additional fee. Some of the leaves were rusted (brown). The tomatoes are notional tomatoes (see: food, inc), even in July. On the plus side, there was plenty of meat on it. That this place is generally well reviewed I chalk up to the overall wretchedness of O'Hare food. And airport food in general. Skip it. read more

Horrible service and food wasn't worth it at all. I told the lady making my salad I wanted the Mandarin Chicken Salad that was so clearly on the board and she goes "you chose from the salads in front of you". They all looked like leftover salads from previous customers. None had any meat. I decided to make a salad. I was full on yelled at for not being loud enough and shocked to find out I could not add a protein. Once I was done the lady at the cash register was mumbling the entire time until I so clearly heard "fine then you don't want any dressing". Worst place to eat before a long flight. read more

After eating pizza and other various heavy foods in Chicago for the past few days I was excited to see Saladworks and have the opportunity to eat something a little lighter. Salad works offers salads with a variety of toppings which can be made into a wrap for an additional cost. I ordered the chicken caesar wrap. To my surprise the lettuce and all ingredients were fresh in a manner similar to the bagged salads many of us purchase from our local grocery stores. The food was expensive but we are in an airport after all di what else would you expect. Even though I wish the wrap was included a few more toppings I was very satisfied with everything and will definitely consider Saladworks as a healthy airport dining option in the future. read more

Not the freshest, not the most flavor but it's still the healthiest option I found near the C hate of the airport. Salads are pretty overpriced that's for sure. Could be an off day. read more

The tomatoes have a fishy taste and the lettuce is wilted. The chicken tastes like wet soggy bland nubs. Very disappointing

As you might expect from an airport restaurant, this Saladworks in Terminal C of ORD is not a "full service" Saladworks. There's no soup and no bread combo options, and the salad doesn't taste quite the same, either. But it's okay. read more

Worst salad I have ever had and that is not an overstatement. Soggy iceberg lettuce (ZERO romaine) and a thin, flavorless "lite" ranch dressing that doesn't even stick to a fork. Almost no chicken. Truly repulsive and for $10. read more

Looks nothing like the photo. Lettuce inedible. Totally overpriced. Avoid this place read more

Saladworks - a plate of salad and a fork - Vegetarian Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I chose "Create your own" salad with Turkey, egg, and corn but it didn't taste good. Turkey was salty and corn was burnt. The seller looked cranky. The reason I gave them one more star is that Romain Lettuce is fresh read more

Saladworks - a green plate with a salad on it - Vegetarian Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

After getting my salad and realizing I was charged more for spring mix, I inquired and got a nasty response from Marta that I was told about it which is inaccurate and no signs about extra charge if you don't get romaine. After some exchange, Marta proceeds to call me a "whiny little b*tch, making me have to deal with you over $0.89." As I was appalled by her actions, her response was call "the number" and complain as if she felt it would never happen and she'd get away with her actions. This employee should be terminated - will never frequent this establishment again if this is how you treat customers. read more

Kate from Corp Customer Service would you please message me? I have never left a negative response on yelp but I called the phone number and it was disconnected. I just spent $25+ on 2 salads and a bottled water, ran to the gate (C11) with it, opened both and found the diced chicken in both were rotten - bad- smelled like ammonia. Everything else in the salad was beautiful. I ran back with the 2 salads, forks, and plastic bag and asked for a refund. 5-10 minutes later. Woman said "no receipt no refund". I said "you didn't give me a receipt!" And she said "I can't just take money out of the drawer I'll be short!@ and I said, "I don't want cash, please just put it back into this visa." "No." I asked "is there a Manager on site?" "No. Go get your receipt." I'm extremely disappointed in this service. What a waste. read more

Best place to get a salad to take on my flight! Lots of varieties and i enjoy talking to Martha every time!

Just grabbed lunch on a layover and my salad came missing some of the ingredients from the display salad I ordered. My husband took it up to them and they said "oh we were out of those ingredients". For a $10 salad if you are out of an ingredient you need to tell the customer and replace it. The quality of the salad was poor-processed meets and iceberg lettuce. read more

This is the second time that Salad Works has saved the day. No it's not fabulous or noteworthy food, but what it does provide is a healthy alternative when traveling - something that is hard to come by. In between the crappy Pizzeria UNOs and lure of McDonalds and Manchu Wok, Saladworks actually provides a solid healthy alternative for travelers. Personally I'd rather save those calories for a restaurant I truly enjoy or am looking forward to trying, not on throwaway French fries I hastily dig out of a bag as I lick the salt from my fingers clean. Although, that's really fun too! I've had the mandarin chicken wrap with tons of lettuce, chicken, mandarin oranges and some fat free Raspberry twice now - not inexpensive for $10 but not resting on my conscience. Tasty too! I appreciate this place for trying and for being cheaper than anything in the JFK JetBlue terminal! read more

Good stuff. I have the spinach salad with honey mustard and add mushrooms. They are really nice here too. Of course it's a l il $$ but hey it's an airport. I haven't tried the wraps yet but they look really good. Oh and the line is the quickest in the whole food court!!! read more

Wilted salad and cucumbers. Pressed chicken. Hope I don't get sick. Love the idea of grabbing a salad but why oh why can't it be good?

Terrible. Unfriendly. They charge $1 more for the mixed lettuce which was still mostly iceberg. Some of the chicken pieces were very hard and tasted still slightly frozen in the center. Skimpy on salad dressing and no bread like other salad works. Skip this and get a packaged salad. read more

The only positive is the fact that they have the only food option that is semi-healthy... Hence the extra star. Otherwise, my Cobb salad was pretty flavorless & a total ripoff for a handful of iceberg lettuce. The chicken tasted like rubber... Ugh! Well, at least I can enjoy my Garretts Chicago mix popcorn without guilt. Thanks Saladworks! Next time I'll do my faithful standby McDonald's. read more

I got a turkey club sandwich with creamy ranch dressing. It was made quickly. They have lots of salad options. For the airport, the value is good. The cashier started to put the salad box in a plastic bag, but I said "I don't need a bag." She stopped. I ate the meal at a table in the food court. The table was clean and the salad was tasty. read more

They get one extra star because its essentially the only semi-healthy option in the entire foodcourt. But the compliments end there. The salads were expensive (to be expected), dry, and flavorless. We'll pass next time. read more

Located in food court. A little pricey for a salad, but all fresh ingredients and still a good choice!

Ingredients are low quality and not fresh. Avoid this place. The only thing that's decent is the container they give you.

No spinach. Seems like a healthy option, but there is not a lot of nutrients in yellow, wilted lettuce and other vegetables. Plus, all their dressings taste like they came from a bottom shelf of a supermarket. Almost every place in the airport offer a salad, you are better if getting it at McDonalds, it would much fresher for less money. read more

I guess this is a healthy option, but the salad is boring/ dry and wasn't appealing to the palette at all, on the bright side Atleast you get to eat right at the airport! read more

I've been to Saladworks a couple of times in the past and remembered it as being decent (never did I think it was that good). After being delayed at O'Hare and waiting in Concourse C, I needed some food. There's not a huge selection, so I went with Saladworks. I've definitely ordered it in the past, but this particular Saladworks did not have a Buffalo Chicken salad. I'm not sure if Saladworks got rid of it or this location didn't have it because they do not have a full menu. I went with the Cobb salad. And...it wasn't good. It was put together on the sloppy side, the chicken wasn't very good and they barely gave me any dressing so the salad was on the dry side big time. Needless to say, it wasn't a good dinner. It was a decent size - just not very good. I was kind of wishing I had stopped somewhere else. read more

Heh airport salad. So it is expensive for what it is but in an air port where food options are limited to unhealthy garbage for the most part, it is nice to have this option. Overall worth it for a healthy option in an airport. read more

Love the concept, and enjoyed my salad. Please open these in more airports! Only knock on this place was the employees. The woman who made my salad was great, but then I got to the register and 3 employees were standing around talking about their phones. I patiently stood there, waiting for someone to ring me up, which didn't happen till the woman who made my salad, now making one for the gentleman behind me, directly asked one of those people to do it. I will definitely eat here again. read more

The best fresh salad food you can find in ORD.

This is where I always get dinner at O'Hare; it's at the entrance of the food court near gate C18. It's definitely healthier than other airport food, and the ingredients are good quality. I did notice they recently started weighing the salads - no more free extras, I guess. I like the pepper parmesan dressing. Avoid the raspberry vinaigrette! read more

I was planing on ordering a salad, but I ended up going somewhere else. I witnessed the employee who was making the salad first grab the pasta then, with the same glove, grab lettuce for the person in front of me. This is a HUGE problem for people with celiac, like myself, who cannot tolerate any particles of gluten being ingested. I do not plan on returning until I can be assured that cross contamination like this can be avoided. Changing gloves in between each salad might be a start, or even scoops/ tongs in the pasta and one for the lettuce. This is a huge disappointment for celiacs everywhere. read more

I've had a better salad from McDonalds. Servers were not understandable. Lettuce was not even green. Had Cobb salad and the bacon was all fat. So much for being a healthy choice. I tossed it and found myself a Chicago dog. read more
