Green Curry, Vegetable Egg Rolls, Basil and Chili Eggplant with tofu.
Karen L.

A good option for Thai food if you're in the Pasadena area. We really liked the spaciousness of restaurant. It has a very open feel with the exposed ceiling. We ordered the Pad Thai, eggplant with tofu, green curry, and sizzling beef for our main coarse. Everything was pretty good. The Pad Thai seasoning was light, not overly sweet like other Thai restaurants. The beef however on the sizzling beef dish was a little on the tough side. We ordered the fried banana dish for our desert. This was our least favorite dish. It was cold on the inside and the banana had turned brown so it was not very appetizing to look at once you cut into it. Would probably not order this again. Overall a nice experience. The staff were very nice and attentive and the restaurant was not crowded at all for lunch on a Saturday afternoon.

Pad Thai

This place has gone downhill. Our pad Thai looked like dried out hash browns. Our green curry has zero flavor. The best thing was the fried wontons , that's says a lot. Unfortunately I will never come back. Very sad.

seafood green curry was delicious

The restaurant still looks as good as when they first opened in the 80's. The food however is not as good. The yum woon sen looked more like a noodle dish with disproportionate amount of noodles to veggie and protein portion. The pad kee mao had so much beef & not enough noodles. The seafood green curry is good. The stuffed chicken wings were alright. The male server was nice, but I think the female server needs some training. I asked for a serving fork, when it never came, I asked a second time... and she responded... yeah, yeah, yeah! Could have answered in a nicer way.

Fried Calamari

Haven't been to Saladang in a while but agree with everyone's recent comments. Have been going to Saladang since the 90's and sadly it's not the same. The sizzling beef was tough, the pad thai lacked flavor, the calamari was overly battered (used to be so light and crunchy). Portions are smaller and prices have jumped. What caught us by surprise was the mandated 20% tip on top of the total including 10.5% tax because we were a table of 6. There were no signs or notices anywhere and the server just added the tip to the check without giving a heads up. Ordinarily I understand automatic service charges but the service was not outstanding and it would have been a nice courtesy to inform customers.

Satay chicken Pad See Ew Pad Thai Lemongrass Soup (tom Yum)
Cho L.

Pretty decent not too shabby Thai spot when you are craving for some. I had Pad See ew, pad Thai, chicken Satay , and Tom Yum soup for takeout. Everything is a solid 7/10. My order was ready in 13 mins which was amazingly fast. Workers are nice and polite. Plenty of parking in the lot which is rare for Pasadena area.

Green curry with mixed vegetables

Eating here is like going to Thailand heaven where you can have fast service and delicious food. The thing about fast service is they don't have time to overcook the vegetables. Everything we had for dinner tasted so fresh. The salad rolls are served with a peanut sauce and with a stirred mix of honey mustard. We love getting green curry with mixed vegetables and surely this dish was superb. The other dish we tried was the Pad Woon Sen with tofu. The mung bean noodles were a big hit, so delicate. Parking is easy and free in their own lot next to the restaurant.

Came to Saladang's for a small goodbye dinner for a family member and was given excellent service! Our party was quite large and they accommodated all of us with no complaints. The atmosphere was very pleasant, every party seemed to be caught up in their own conversations. The waiters periodically checked on us which was amazing since we had a lot of people. The only thing that was dissatisfying was the cleanliness of the restroom. The food was amazing! Our party got chicken curry, pad thai, wontons, bbq beef, and fried rice! We also tried the Thai Tea which was phenomenal. Lastly we ended our meal with the fried bananas which also had coconut flakes on it. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you want great quality Thai cuisine!!

Its been awhile and came here for lunch with a friend. Food was okay, very over priced the best is the eggplant salad. Had better authentic thai food at other places. This place been here a long time and have lost its touch. Waitress need to not do stuff on table next to you

Fried Calamari

Had lunch here today with a friend. We have not eaten here in over 12 years. Only two other tables with diner's at 12:00 lunch time. Waitress gave us the regular menu. No lunch special menu or the drink menu. I had to get them myself from a small table. The men's room needs better maintenance. Ordered the Fried calamari, Green Curry with Pork, Chicken Sate. Cat fish fillet and a Coconut Shrimp soup. The Calamari was too chewy. We returned it. We ordered the Chicken Sate. It was good. TheGreen Curry I ordered it Mild. The Pork was very tough, like shoe leather. I could not eat much of it. I ate the Eggplant and vegetables with the brown rice. The food quality has really gone through some changes, but not for the better. Ambiance and Service was subpar. The waitress was not very friendly. Parking: Shared parking lot. There are better options and a better value in the greater San Gabriel Valley. We spent $85.00 with Tip included for this experience today. Overall Rating: 2 Stars

Spicy basil chili with pork belly
Erica K.

I'd give it 5 stars if they addressed some issues in the ladies room and dining room setup, but was very happy with the chicken pad Thai (they were very generous with the chicken) and spicy basil chili pork belly. I would definitely return!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!…read more I was honestly so impressed. To be fair, I haven't been to many Thai restaurants that I didn't enjoy, but this place really stood out. The quality of the meat was excellent, and every dish was packed with flavor. The service was calm, friendly, and attentive. I was actually surprised by how quiet it was because the food deserves a much bigger crowd. What really blew me away was the portion size for the price. The servings were huge and such a great value. We had enough food to easily feed 5-6 people, and the bill was still incredibly reasonable. I'll definitely be coming back!

The best surprise was finding out that Tuesdays are all plant-based. We had no idea when we ordered, and honestly, what a cool thing to do! The Khao Soi Chicken was truly the star of the restaurant and I would definitely recommend this dish for anyone interested in trying thai cuisine. The service is always friendly and the ambiance is very warm and pleasant. It's a very humble and family/neighborhood oriented space. I would recommend to come visit them early (they open at 11:30) since people do line up to eat here. It's a little small in the main area but they do have another dining area on the other side so seating is in fact plenty! There is street parking right out front but if there's none, not to worry there's a lot of parking in the neighborhood so the walk over is relatively short. We love Miya and can't wait to try their other dishes!

Not a problem, the lunch menu was equally enticing. A 2-course offering for $25. I started with the Thai Prawn Ceviche. This course was wonderfully balanced, not too acidic, also a nice touch of sweetness and plump flavorful prawns. For the main, my selection was the Beef Truffle Wok-Seared Noodles. I was delighted that they were round noodles and they arrived at my table stirred in a dark sauce with sliced beef pieces on top. A small porcelain decanter was also supplied, containing the truffle oil. I poured it over my noodles. The beef was tender, moist and could be cut with the usual provided table knife. The whole dish was a winner, from start to finish. Service here, as expected, was well executed. Need to be aware of the parking though. There is a public garage around the corner that is advertised for this establishment and a few others. Problem is, that Star Leaf validates only for 1-hour, while their neighbors do so, for 2-hours. I addressed this issue with the manager at my last visit and this time too. The answer I got was not convincing to suggest that they care, or will do something about it, anytime soon. Oh well.

Very clean and well decorated space. Nice AC on a hot summer day. Do note, the window seat is a little weird because you can't lean back (No back rest). I wanted something light so I got a small Tom Kha Chicken Soup and a Thai tea, which I asked to be less sweet and they obliged. The soup was very sour, which I didn't expect since it didn't say that in the menu description. I knew Tom Yum is sweet and sour but didn't expect that from a curry soup. Also, 1/3 of the soup were the spices (that you don't eat) so it felt really small of a portion after I removed those pieces. My friend gave me some of their extra rice and it was still too sour. The Thai iced tea was a little bland, probably since I asked for it to be less sweet, so I don't recommend doing that. I think less sweet also meant less milk so it wasn't very creamy. Still refreshing though. In my photo, you can see the color difference between my less sweet thai iced tea and my friend's normal one. Mine was kind of brown. His was the normal bright orange. I also tried my partner's pad Thai and normally I don't like pad Thai because it's too sweet, but this one was on the less sweet side so it was quite decent. I tried my partner's Thai Iced Coffee, which we ordered out of curiosity. She said it's basically normal coffee but more sweet. To my surprised, it was not sweet at all, like zero sugar. It tasted like a more burnt americano with a splash of milk. We were not fans. We parked about 1/2 mile away because street parking is free and we don't mind walking. Parking structure is available nearby too, for only $1 for the first 2 hours. Bathrooms are shared among three restaurants, but they are very clean.
