I had lunch with our office staff of six on 12/15/2023. I was very impressed with the physical appearance of the restaurant, the koi pond, and the layout of the buffet. The convenient location was a plus too. I had tea with my meal for $15 and change plus tip. Servers were great and very attentive. As for the food, I had boiled shrimp, crayfish, stuffed crabin the shell, sushi, chicken teriyaki on a stick, more shrimp, bar-b-q chicken, sesame chicken with rice, and soft serve ice cream for dessert. Very much a hit or miss buffet. The sushi was good tonight. Fish pond is great for watching Koi and goldfish. Roast beef was horrible. 1 star at the most. The crab was also poor quality and old. Yikes! I've had several awesome buffets up in Atlanta where I'm from so I figured I'd give this place a try. I now know why it's so affordable. The tuna nigiri was grey and smelled awful. The rest the sushi was hard to the touch or very slimy. Obviously not held at the proper temp or held for too long. The grilled food wasn't much better. Bad smelling old food that was way over cooked. I assume this is what prison food is like. I left without taking a single bite of food. I'm so happy I did. Food poisoning isn't worth a cheap meal. We went to Sakura Buffet as a stopover on our way to Florida. We wanted to eat something heavy for lunch so this buffet was the perfect option. Their reviews on Yelp were pretty good so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was busy for a holiday lunch. With that in mind, I was surprised that they wanted us to share a table with a different party. There were still a lot of empty tables, but for some reason that I do not understand, the host wants us to sit with someone who we do not know. Of course, I do not think it was acceptable because we wanted privacy so I pretended that we wanted a booth instead of a table. I was surprised when I saw the crabs from the buffet table. Most of the buffets I've been to only serve crabs for dinner so this was a plus to me. I was looking for shrimp and was disappointed that they only serve shrimp for dinner. The baked crab was so good that I came back for more. The stuffed crab was alright. Overall, I had a lot of leftover because some of the stuff that I tried wasn't that good. Their hibachi was one of them. The noodles was overcooked and after it was mixed with the sauces, It became very soggy. The price was under $10 so you get what you pay for. Can someone tell me why I got over charged here. Then you come to my table and take my reciept as if it won't show up on my bank statement. Then have the nerve to ask us where your tip it and you got your answer when you were told you tip was in the ticket you took off the table. I was not happy at all about being overcharged and it was my nieces birthday. Got food poisoning after eating here. The meat was browning and uncovered at the grill station. There's a large selection of food but it's nothing special, tastes like every other buffets food. I asked a waitress if I could bring home the very small portion of food I had left on my plate instead of wasting it and she said yes. So, when I left the restaurant, the owner chased me out to the parking lot to ask if we paid EXTRA for the food in the container. Solid buffet! The food is of good quality and fresh. The place was clean during our lunchtime visit even though it was really busy. The food isn't authentic of course, but we didn't really expect it to be when we arrived. We were impressed by the many types of sushi they have. I tried most of them and they were good. They weren't like something you would get from a fancy smancy Japanese place, but for a buffet, they were perfectly fine. They did have some odd options for "picky" eaters. So clean and the decor was pretty. Staff were very friendly, helpful and quick. I did not enjoy the hibachi grill, the cook used way more water then sauce as I watched and the whole lacked flavor. You can't handle giving the hard working staff 15%? Perhaps if people didn't stuff them on tips they wouldn't have to do that. The staff is too ever-present clearing tables? Would you prefer they let dishes pile up? The waiter immediately offered me sweet tea and I'm offended? Geez, people are ridiculous. And stop bringing dogs to restaurants, that's disgusting. Salmon roll, veggie roll and so on. There's also a hibachi grill which you can choose noodles, vegetables, etc and they'll cook it up for you. Of course, let's not forget the BUFFET they have everything you can imagine and more. Clams, lobster, sweet&sour chicken, sesame chicken, lo mein noodles, rice. At lunchtime on 5 August 2022 and at dinner time on 15 August 2022 I (and a lunch partner on 5 August 2022 - the lunch partner happened to be my VA Licensed Clinical Social Worker who recommended my Service Animal), my lunch partner, and my Service Animal we're intentionally separated from other patrons in a dining room where no other patrons were present. My Service Animal was not allowed to accompany me to the Buffett, a violation of federal law. This happened the 1st time while accompanied by my Social Worker on 5 August 2022 and a second time when it was just myself and my Service Animal on 15 August 2022. On 15 August 2022, the employee sitting me loudly complained to the only other guests in the room about my Service Animal intentionally embarrassing me such that I was very uncomfortable causing me to feel compelled to get my dinner "to go". I was further embarrassed by another patron involving himself in the situation by suggesting I leave the restaurant. I ignored him while securing my Service Animal to a piece of furniture and going to select my buffet "to go" items WITHOUT being accompanied by my Service Animal. I attempted to explain ADA guidelines regarding Service Animals to the host and a woman who identified herself as the manager to no avail. Both women claimed they did not speak or understand English. As a result, I sent a copy of an article (assistance dogregistry.com/law_information/frequently-asked-service-dog-questions/) and a letter detailing my experiences at the restaurant to Shiqui Lin, CEO, and the indicated Registered Agent with the Georgia Secretary of State Corporations Division. Not only am I an individual with four qualifying ADA disabilities with a licensed mental health professionally recommended Service Animal, but I am also a professionally trained mental health practitioner with more than 25 years of professional experience, which includes experience with professionally recommending Emotional Support Animals (ESA's) and Service Animals (SA's) as well as advocacy for persons with disabilities requiring reasonable accommodations. I am familiar with disabilities-related city ordinances, and local, state, and federal disabilities laws. I also completed an online evaluation of the restaurant where I included the explanation that Service Animals are recognized by federal law not as pets, but as "working animals" that might be trained to assist their handler, for example, in an emergency situation such as anaphylactic shock requiring the Service Animals immediate assistance, which cannot be accomplished if the Service Animal is not present with the handler, thus, the necessity of the Service Animal being allowed to accompany the handler to the Buffett while selecting food items. I was so upset with the second experience when the employee sitting me embarrassed me by loudly complaining about my Service Animal to complete strangers and the other patron rudely suggesting I leave the restaurant, when I went outside to call for a Lyft ride, I left an envelope with $100 at the restaurant.
