The food was either under cooked some over cooked and rubbery .the crabs had brown meat on the claws and watery white meat in the body the wait st aff never came to our table and did refills or asked if we needed anything the website says 1099$ when we got there it was 1599$.Some food was good so I did get to eat.the bar was large and the sushi looked good but I don't eat raw fish. read more

Ok this a perfect example of quantity over quality. Place is larger than you'd expect and more food than you'd ever want to eat. Options are endless. Sushi seemed fresh with several varieties. A sushi snob that joined me for lunch was far from impressed. Unlikely to go back but if you want to stuff your face until you explode this is your spot. read more

I enjoy Sakura for a number of reasons to include the variety, freshness and consistency of the food! Sushi, Hibachi, Chinese, American Cuisine and so many other favorites! I've never had a bad experience and I like that they are continuously replenishing the food! read more

I haven't been to this location in quite some years. But I was disappointed that most of the food on the bar was cold. It wasn't as crowded as I thought I got there about 6:10 ,good variety of food. But I felt like the staff was hovering around the tables .It was clean & friendly possibly a great place to take kids read more

Couldn't speak the same language english and Spanish first time my food was overcooked and hard to chew on second time food was underdone and tasted like garlic (I didn't ask for garlic) and took very long to even grab my plate. read more

Very much a hit or miss buffet. The sushi was good tonight. Fish pond is great for watching Koi and goldfish. Roast beef was horrible. 1 star at the most. The crab was also poor quality and old. I couldn't chew the octopus or squid. Also 1 star items. Fresh fruit was great. Shrimp, mussels and crawfish were good. It's amazing how many ways you can serve imitation crab. The vegetables were well cooked. We didn't have any desserts. I thought $14.00 was a reasonable price for the selection. You just have to scout out the quality. read more

Yikes! I've had several awesome buffets up in Atlanta where I'm from so I figured I'd give this place a try. I now know why it's so affordable. The tuna nigiri was grey and smelled awful. The rest the sushi was hard to the touch or very slimy. Obviously not held at the proper temp or held for too long. The grilled food wasn't much better. Bad smelling old food that was way over cooked. I assume this is what prison food is like. I left without taking a single bite of food. I'm so happy I did. Food poisoning isn't worth a cheap meal. My suggestion is stay away from this place. I'm honestly surprised they're even open. read more

I had lunch with our office staff of six on 12/15/2023. I was very impressed with the physical appearance of the restaurant, the koi pond, and the layout of the buffet. The convenient location was a plus too. I had tea with my meal for $15 and change plus tip. Servers were great and very attentive. As for the food, I had boiled shrimp, crayfish, stuffed crabin the shell, sushi, chicken teriyaki on a stick, more shrimp, bar-b-q chicken, sesame chicken with rice, and soft serve ice cream for dessert. Special callout to the shrimp sauce, which was like a roumelade sauce and a welcome change from traditional cocktail sauce. I would recommend this buffet restaurant wholeheartedly!!! read more

We went to Sakura Buffet as a stopover on our way to Florida. We wanted to eat something heavy for lunch so this buffet was the perfect option. Their reviews on Yelp were pretty good so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was busy for a holiday lunch. With that in mind, I was surprised that they wanted us to share a table with a different party. There were still a lot of empty tables, but for some reason that I do not understand, the host wants us to sit with someone who we do not know. Of course, I do not think it was acceptable because we wanted privacy so I pretended that we wanted a booth instead of a table. I was surprised when I saw the crabs from the buffet table. Most of the buffets I've been to only serve crabs for dinner so this was a plus to me. I was looking for shrimp and was disappointed that they only serve shrimp for dinner. The baked crab was so good that I came back for more. The stuffed crab was alright. Overall, I had a lot of leftover because some of the stuff that I tried wasn't that good. Their hibachi was one of them. The noodles was overcooked and after it was mixed with the sauces, It became very soggy. The price was under $10 so you get what you pay for. I think the restaurant is fancy for the price. If you like crabs, this restaurant is definitely a good place for you. But on our next road trip to Florida or when I am around town, I will definitely skip this restaurant and find somewhere else. read more

Best part of buffet is the fish that you can feed when you walk in. My kids love this part. As for the service it's very good. The price is reasonable, I just find the food not impressive. It's not bad it's just not great. I've been here 2-3x now and not sure I'll go back. The selection is large. They've always had some seafood, sushi, Chinese options and a grill but none of it is great read more

Service: excellent Food: good. Nothing exceptional. It's a buffet... Major complaint: without telling me they added 15% gratuity to the tab; then handed a charge slip With a line to add a gratuity. The detal list of charges is immediately collected at the table to get the beverages ordered, so there is no time to check. Only figured it out when one of my party complained about it during dinner. Will not return, because I felt cheated... read more

This place was fantastic! The food was great and constantly being replenished. The staff ? Eh, perhaps might need a few customer service classes. Nevertheless I enjoyed the experience! There was a plethora of food to choose from! So many sushi options, fruit, vegetables, oh and the list goes on. Give them a shot if you're ever in the area! read more

I really don't know the reason for the bad reviews on yelp. This place is delightful. The sushi is good the Salmon is phenomenal. They have a hibachi Grille That is better than usual, be careful when ordering the spicy sauce, they don't play, it's actually spicy !!! The The desserts are as to be expected, and there's a lot of them. They have a nice salad bar. The ribs are fantastic. we will go every time we're in town. read more

Food was wonderful, Restaurant was clean and they had a huge selection of different types of food. Service was great also!

As buffets go, it is a good buffet to go during the busy hours. The food is fresh and they are quick to replace and good with refilling drinks. It is nice and clean as well! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because most of the times I have been in there, the staff seem a little standoffish and can be perceived rude. Otherwise, it's my favorite buffet in Savannah area. read more

Really enjoyed this buffet- lots of sushi variety and decent price. Would come back again.

Solid buffet. Always well kept and very reasonably priced. I think Sunday is the best time to visit--it's always busy on Sundays, and it seems they have more items on Sundays. read more

The name "Sakura" might give you an impression that this is a Japanese place, but this buffet definitely qualifies as Chinese one. Nonetheless, there are amazingly large number of choices of food available. It was the largest selection of sushi as I ever experienced at any Asian buffet! Believe me, I have eaten at numerous Asian buffet... I have seen some very large Asian buffet in my life (especially in Texas), but Sakura Buffet was filled with the largest selection of food to include some sea food sections. Well, the size is one thing, but is it any good? I'd say, it's good enough! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here while touring Savannah, GA area. Weekday lunch buffet is $9.99 and dinner buffet is $10.49, therefore, it's very reasonable. I'd make an assumption that lunch buffet offers less variety. What I don't know is how much less?? If you want quantity of food with some good quality, this place is it! You'll be amazed by the varieties of dishes they offer. Great place! read more

Can someone tell me why I got over charged here. Then you come to my table and take my reciept as if it won't show up on my bank statement. Then have the nerve to ask us where your tip it and you got your answer when you were told you tip was in the ticket you took off the table. I was not happy at all about being overcharged and it was my nieces birthday. She and my nephew were charged more for them and their Son while my other nephew came and paid less for the same amount of people. I used to like going there but tonight was a disappointment. Leaving 1 star because it won't let me leave 0. I won't be returning. read more

Sakura is a wonderful buffet.. they have so many choices to choose from and everything is fresh.. the staff is very friendly.. we just move to Savannah and we've been here the most in a month in a half.. prices are very reasonable.. cost hubby and me less than 40 dollars to eat.. they also have crabs and sushi.. I have not tried the sushi yet.. my favorite is the coconut shrimp.. read more

We really enjoyed, the waitress never come around to refill drinks but other than that was awesome

I love the customized meals! I experienced fast service. The restaurant was clean. The cost was satisfactory.

Got food poisoning after eating here. The meat was browning and uncovered at the grill station. There's a large selection of food but it's nothing special, tastes like every other buffets food. I asked a waitress if I could bring home the very small portion of food I had left on my plate instead of wasting it and she said yes. So, when I left the restaurant, the owner chased me out to the parking lot to ask if we paid EXTRA for the food in the container. We ended up throwing the food out anyway because of the food poisoning I experienced. read more

Employees making fun of customers very unprofessional food was ok not great very clean restrooms

Solid buffet! The food is of good quality and fresh. The place was clean during our lunchtime visit even though it was really busy. The food isn't authentic of course, but we didn't really expect it to be when we arrived. We were impressed by the many types of sushi they have. I tried most of them and they were good. They weren't like something you would get from a fancy smancy Japanese place, but for a buffet, they were perfectly fine. They did have some odd options for "picky" eaters. Cheese quesadillas, hot wings, pizza.... It's a "No Thanks" for me on all of those.... but a lot of people seemed to be enjoying them. So, there's that.... Overall, it is a good place to check out. Come hungry! read more

I know, I know "Chinese buffet" you know you like it. I've been a few times now and my favorite thing is the fresh sushi (the chefs make it right there). They have a ton of options. Salmon roll, veggie roll and so on. There's also a hibachi grill which you can choose noodles, vegetables, etc and they'll cook it up for you. Of course, let's not forget the BUFFET they have everything you can imagine and more. Clams, lobster, sweet&sour chicken, sesame chicken, lo mein noodles, rice. They also have some 'Merican food like potatoes skin, fried chicken, salad bar, fried okra. I'll also mention that the inside is very clean and pleasant. Staff is friendly. If you want to go to a buffet, this is the place for you. read more

Worst Chinese food ever. I'd give it 0 stars if I could. Poor selection and worse flavor.

This place is definitely the best Chinese buffet you'll find in the Savannah area. There's a killer hibachi bar that never fails to deliver tasty treats. You get to create your own plate, then choose your meat - chicken or steak, and then your sauce to top it off. A full sushi bar with a multitude of rotating options, I'm not big on fish, but the vegetarian options are always good, so I can only assume the regular rolls are too. You'll find all your standard fare at the buffet, everything from sweet & sour chicken to pizza. Nothing revolutionary there, but hey it's a buffet not rocket science. Lastly, the interior is always spotless. Squeaky clean floors and well maintained restrooms make this place a good choice any time of day. read more

i went there twice..the first time I was like....''it's ok'..the second time I really decided that I do to like it..cheap price..but very loud..it could be cleaner..I got grossed out by the food presentation really! They just don't clean around the buffet, it just looks grossed. The waitress took forever to clean my table ..i mean really? So bottom line, no I won't go back. Even the water was bad and tasted like metal or old pipes.just gross. read more

So clean and the decor was pretty. Staff were very friendly, helpful and quick. I did not enjoy the hibachi grill, the cook used way more water then sauce as I watched and the whole lacked flavor. Other than that, we enjoyed ourselves and the food portions were perfect enough to try a little bit of everything. Very Good read more

This place is really 3 - 3.5 stars but bumping up to 4 stars because this was the only place that was open on Thanksgiving. Nothing is open in Tybee Island, not even the convenient stores. We decided to take a family trip and arrive on Thanksgiving, only to see that nothing is open. I even called several restaurants in Savannah, many were closed, even fast food. Luckily, I found Sakura Buffet. It was 30 mins from Tybee but that's okay since living in Atlanta, we travel around that same distance anyways to get places. Buffet overall was standard with mostly the same dishes you see at every Asian buffet. This one did have fried oysters! There is a hibachi and sushi area as well. There were LOTS of sushi. Honestly, some of the best sushi I've ever had and I'm not a sushi fan! During Thanksgiving, it was packed and busy but not crowded. It only cost $10.99. On top of that, all the staff was on top of their game. They were very attentive, always refilling drinks, picking up plates, they never rushed us out either. This all is very rare in an Asian restaurant. read more
