Lots of people like it. Many choices. More cafeteria style food than fresh. Salad bar had evidence that containers had not been cleaned in a very long time. Pretty solid Chinese buffet at a cheap price point! They have the standard Chinese buffet foods from sesame chicken to spring rolls to sushi, and all the foods were pretty warm and fresh. I especially enjoyed the sushi, as there was salmon and other good sushi selections for lunch. I did think most of their dishes were quite salty though, and their desserts were kind of mid. The service was pretty quick and frequent, which was nice. Visited my friend in Savannah, from Charleston, so went to this phenomenal all-you-can-eat sushi and more buffet, at $11.99 per person. It was amazing how much there was! The food was delicious. They offered everything under the sun...sushi, hibachi, hot and cold seafood, stir-fry, rice, soup, noodles, fruit, veggies, dessert. The service and ambiance were great. My only complaint was there was no low-sodium soy sauce available at all. Had to take extra blood-pressure medication, due to having to use full-sodium soy sauce. I am more than happy with what you get for your money here. At $13 for a weekday lunch buffet it's cheaper than fast food, and you can eat as much as you want of their many diverse options. We have visited Sakura in the past, and it was always wonderful. Great waitstaff, and the food was fantastic. Today's visit was a terrible disappointment. We had to wait a long time for our drink order, and I ended up chasing someone down to get our drinks. Then everything we tried had a bland, odd taste with no seasoning. Even the watermelon had a funny taste. No one ever came by to ask if we needed drink refills, so once again, I had to chase someone down to get new drinks. The waitress brought our drinks but left all the plates we had stacked up on the table. There were small fruit flies around the restaurant, and the plates looked dirty definitely not sanitary. Even though the experience was bad, we still left a tip. She didn't introduce herself, never checked on drinks or offered refills, and we barely ate because the food wasn't good. The service and environment were both terrible. Arrived Sunday just after opening. Food was out and hot. Workers were friendly and polite. Very nice koi pond. Servers kept the old plates removed from the tables. They also kept the drinks full. The service is quick so you may feel rushed, but just ignore the early drop off of the ticket and keep eating. Fifteen minutes before closing time a waitress came with a styrofoam cup and a fork. She plucked the food up from my ten year old's plate and started filling into the cup saying "sorry, sorry, sorry". This was after making it clear she wanted us gone by standing over us while we were eating, grabbing unfinished plates and drinks, vacuuming under our feet, and offering us two free to go plates which we could fill from what they hadn't put away already from the buffet. There were plenty of items to choose from, and lots of American dishes for those who aren't so into Chinese food. A salad area, some desserts, sushi options and of course all the staples that come with a buffet. The place was pretty busy for a Tuesday night but it's big so no waiting. Our drinks stayed filled, our plates were cleared and our check came timely. I did have an issue with picking up dirty plates but.... I used to come here one or twice per month. On a couple occasions, I was handed my drink and it had just mayonnaise smeared all around the glass. I wanted to leave. I had to ask for another. People come in here with their whole family of loud obnoxious rude broodling brats and let them just scream and run around and fix their own plates, making messes, piddling, causing problems and getting in the way. People talking loud as they want to on their bluetooth phones while others are trying to enjoy their meals. Now, that isn't the restaurant's fault, but they could at least put a sign up asking people NEVER to let children fix their own plates below the age of like, 11. It's not really the cleanest place, and you can tell it's getting old. Once this little Mexican girl was at the ice cream machine and using her HAND to get ice cream, and eating it out of her hand. Nobody said a word to her, the parents weren't even watching. Just disgraceful. There is a LOT of dust and grime on the walls and the ceiling, and this place could use a good deep scrubbing. The staff are always friendly and nice and prompt to bring you another drink or the check. The food is really, really low quality. The desserts are all just defrosted pastries, bought boxed little flavorless cakes, and jello and that NOBODY likes. The sushi is 'ok'...but if you expect actual eel, real spicy tuna, or actual good fish, you're going to be disappointed. It's just the lowest quality 'edible' seafood (fake crab) you can get shoved into the rolls. The 'crab rangoon' does not have a single solitary shred of any crab in it. its just cream cheese in a wonton wrapper.
