He was friendly, funny, and expedient. Our food was cooked well. I personally love the steak and shrimp. But they have many combos to choose from. I wish that they gave more vegetables with the meal. Because you get a lot of rice. And that the salad had some other vegetables in it other than just iceberg lettuce. The restaurant has many tables throughout the restaurant. Aside from Narra Tree, Bewon, and Jin Guk, we haven't had much luck finding Asian food we really enjoy. But Miyabi hit all the marks on our first try. My family and I were in the area running an errand when my husband spontaneously suggested Miyabi for dinner. As soon as we walked in, we were struck by how beautiful the space was. I got a little nervous seeing the sign about reservations. It was a Saturday night on a holiday weekend. The staff greeted us warmly and thankfully were able to accommodate us. We had the best server and chef - Kat and Shaq! The drink menu had a great variety. We tried the chicken, steak, and shrimp. Everything, including the soup and salad, was delicious. I was surprised by the number of sauce and dressing choices. We've been to many Japanese steakhouses, including the popular Benihana. Miyabi is easily one of the best we've had, if not the best. We're definitely coming back after such a great first experience. We hope to get Kat and Shaq again. They made the night memorable and took such good care of us. My favorite Savannah food, although the meal preparation/service is a bit long. This review is on their to go order process, which somehow seemed slower than eating in the restaurant. I called just after they opened at 5:02 and completed the order at 5:05. Wasn't given a time estimate but arrived at about 5:25. At 5:35 after not receiving any text notification about my order I went in to check, not ready. Finally at 5:55 I got my order. So in total 50 minutes to get a to go order on a Thursday and there was no crowd like on the weekends. Another customer came in asking about her to go order. She was apparently told it would take 20 minutes. Not sure how long she'd been waiting but she complained about it taking longer than estimated and she was still there when I left. This is my absolute favorite for their Hibachi food in the Sav, Richmond Hill and Hinesville area. We have been here twice and really enjoyed both experiences! We highly encourage trying to make a reservation because this location can be really busy! Although, we came one time without making reservations, we did not have to wait a long time to be seated. We were able to get drinks and sit in the lobby area as we waited to be seated. And to be fair, you can always order more as an add on. To me their miso soup is a hit or miss so I've recently been doubling up on the salad instead of the soup. Best decision ever! So, hey Jerry & Ross (Jerry was our hibachi guy and Ross was the server both had a long day but they got through the experience). I was out with my friend for his birthday (natives of Savannah) and his family requested Jerry. He was funny and entertaining it just took a long time to get the whole meal and our server rang in two of the eight peoples orders wrong (mines being one of them). The ribeye killed the filet mignon dead in the streets and never got charged. It melted like butter in my mouth and seeing as it's my favorite cut of steak I was sooooo pleased!!! The shrimp was good and so was my teriyaki chicken (extra sauce). The ratio to rice and vegetables was so off that they had to bring more vegetables to the table. We literally took home six orders of rice for free. I was just excited to visit a new place and to be able to review it. It's normal hibachi, but when you grow up with the fire and flames it's hard to bring something new and exciting to a veteran. The bar does double as the waiting area and to go counter too. Server was busy but attentive. Clear soup and salad was delicious. We enjoyed the appetizer shrimp! Chef put on a great show. Sushi we ordered came out with soup and salad course, so it was not awkward for one of us to be skipping on the hibachi dinner. Our scallops and shrimp were cooked to perfection. Holy White Sauce. They are so generous with it. If you've been to one of these, you know about the white sauce. They filled the sauce trio with all white sauce on request and even had some prepped and ready to go with the leftovers in tiny cups with lids. I will never go there again! Overall I felt ignored by the server - but I was in the corner. I was close enough to hear the chef at the next table and watch what he was doing as well as our own. When he made a mound of rice and spanked it with his spatula and say "who's your daddy", I scrambled to distract my 10 year old. Then he said, "Everybody likes a little soft porn." I was appalled and spoke out pointing out that there was a 10 year old near by that could see and hear him. My chef, laughing about it, said, "What happens in Miyabi's stayed in Miyabi's." The server was not personable and did not seem knowledgeable about anything in the restaurant. The food was inedible. The rice was crunchy I felt like I was chipping my teeth. The proteins were the only mediocre thing about the whole dining experience. I went to talk to the manager to let him know my disappointment and lack of decent service. His was response was "okay". He did not even have the decency after spending over $350 to apologize for the trash they called food. My suggestion is to go somewhere else for better food and service in Savannah.
