It was our first time eating at this place. We only came because a friend recommended it. And we always love to try new places. I should have actually payed attention to other yelp reviews. Place was not too crowded, maybe because we were there during the week and before dinner time. It seemed that they changed their paying policy (pay first) just recently, which I didn't mind at all. All buffet places we have gone to, you usually pay first anyways. The food was our issue. The food was very tasteless and bland. We decided to go to Sakura at 7:45pm. We like their food and have gone there several times with family. It's clean and organized. They have plenty or clean plates, cups and utensils. They pick up the dirt plates almost as quickly as you put them at the end of the table. You have to remember that it is Wednesday (5/22) and there is hardly no on in there and the guy at the register had an apron on. The servers main focus is pumping it those crab legs while there are 6 other trays the are empty and many more that are super low, but those legs keep piling on! If I could give zero stars I would. I went to eat here today with my kids, I decided to get some pudding an there was what looked like a light bulb coil in my pudding. This place is great for the price. 2 adults on a Saturday night dinner rush was around $30 and we ate at least 4 times that amount of food. The Mongolian bbq is one of my favorite things! They have every meat imaginable, 4 different types of noodles and all of the veggies and sauces. I watched the cook clean the flat top before cooking my plate and it came out perfect. They have simple sushi rolls and if you ask the worker they usually will put out fresh ones. The seafood selection was surprising(considering we are in the desert) the salt and pepper shrimp are amazing and the snow crab was great. I am giving them two stars because it was only 11.99 a person and the cheesy wonton things were delicious. Other than that, a big let down. We went here at 9pm on Saturday night. They don't close until 10pm. We used to eat here when it was King's Buffet, and even then, the last time we ate there, we got one plate and then went somewhere else. It was bad. It still pretty much is. We were very disappointed because even though they have an hour to close, they did not refresh any of the plates. So the food was cold and hardly abundant. This may have to be the last time we visit here which is sad. It used to be great.. but the food was just not what i would call "butt-worthy" today. Bland, not well seasoned.. things that should be crispy were squishy.. and the other patrons behaved like animals who had just been let out of their cages and into a buffet for their first time. It was my first time coming here the other day, and I left the establishment content and satisfied. It gets very crowded, so I assume it would be best to come during off-peak hours. The waitstaff is quick to clear your table and refill your drink, which is always a plus. The buffet food was alright. It wasn't amazing but if you want a full tummy, it gets the job done. HOWEVER. My boyfriend told me that there was a (and the only one in Lancaster, I believe) Mongolian barbecue section in addition to the buffet. It's located by the sushi bar near the back, and I would recommend it over the buffet's actual food. There are two types of noodles, lots of vegetables, and meat to choose from (even baby octopus, ew!) to put on your plate. There is also a variety of sauces to douse your noodles with, and I suggest adding all of them for that maximum flavor. It was delicious, and I would definitely come here again just for the Mongolian barbecue whenever I'm in the area. Came in at 2pm on a Sunday and the place was packed. The soup and the rest of the hot food were hot (which is ideal, but not always the case). They had standard Asian buffet fare as well as stuff you don't always see like seafood soup and pot stickers. Dinner price included the drink and the wait staff was very attentive, but not very perceptive. Well this place is disappointing. If you're hungry and have no where to go they have food. But absolutely under no circumstance fall for the gift card scam. This has happened to my family in 2021 and it has just happened to a friend of mine trying to do something nice for me and my friends. My friend bought 2 lunch meal gift cards for me and a friend and both had zero balances. my friend had to wait for 30 minutes to get a manager to get his meal sorted out. I was not so luck, I went there today and they told me sir there is no balance. There was 15 people behind me in line being held up and I had a Togo box. they said there was no manager to help me and she wouldn't be there for 2 hours. I was forced to pay with credit card then went outside to vent for a few minutes. Then the manager magically comes out the door and calls me over. She spent another 10 minutes on the register and the best they could do was give me a balance on my gift card with a lunch meal. Then I had to repeat over and over to get a copy of the receipt for the gift card she loaded. She did not want to give me that receipt. I do not trust this business and I highly recommend not getting a gift card under any circumstance if you have to pay cash I wouldn't even use my debit or credit card. They offer all of you favorite Asian foods, along with some great traditional american cuisine that's great for the kids. I would highly recommend stopping by and giving it a try. I usually go during diner and I feel like the buffet might need a bit for of a variety if food like I would recommend that they have 2 different layouts for the food. And they alternate he layouts every other day. The sushi is fine and the noodle station. The deserts could do some improvement but I really don't get deserts. Those are just some recommendations. Anyway I love this restaurant's sushi and Dumplings they have an amazing flavor. The Orange chicken to me has a weird flavor. When I go I don't find any dumpling sauce but I just use soy sauce as an alternative. If you just happen to be in the area I would reckon that you stop by and eat from this buffet.
