We're at a different table now but we don't have our receipt so i hope they don't try to kick us out. My first review LOLL so bare with me. So I came here today with my boyfriend because we've been wanting to try it for a while. We've been to city buffet many times so we wanted to try a different buffet. We read some reviews before going and we seen a review mentioning the food being plain. We still went ahead to try it despite the reviews and I will say we were disappointed. First of all, it was hot inside the place, yes they did have ceiling fans but it felt stuffy inside. Crowded with people and people were hogging up the crab legs. Finally I was able to at least GET ONE and it was so PLAIN. I thought maybe it was plain because it was at the bottom (the last one). We ended up waiting for more and they brought it out. I got three more and they were still plain. Anywho SO I tried the chow mein that they cook right there and that was still plain even though we put garlic on it. I was just eating noodles with watered down garlic sauce. Apart from that, the station was really messy but hey that can't be entirely their fault so we'll get past that. I'm surprised that the ice cream tasted so bland as well like how do you mess up on ice cream... the only thing that was actually good was the sushi AND I DONT EVEN LIKE SUSHI. I did like that their price includes the drink, you get to choose unlike city buffet you have to pay for a drink and can't switch it out. After living in the AV for three years and getting our fair share of BOGO 1/2 off coupons on the backside of JetHawks tickets, we decided to give this place a whirl. Remember that scene in "Vegas Vacation" where Clark and Eddie go to the best buck-ninety-nine buffet in town and are offered the blue or the yellow entrees? That's how I felt here. The food was obviously low quality and just plain lackluster. The mushroom chicken was fine, and was thinking that I would be able to give this place two stars because they had kimchi...but then my kimchi winked at me with a stray eyelash embedded between strips of cabbage. I shuddered. I'd had enough. I grabbed a sealed Blue Bunny ice cream sandwich and called it quits. The highlight, however, was the astoundingly tongue-in-cheek fortune cookie my husband received. If you do somehow get dragged to this place, stick to the mushroom chicken and the cheese dumplings and you might just survive. We arrived there during lunch hours but we paid for dinner so we could enjoy our time there with having the feeling of being rushed...lol...plus the items get a little better after 4pm. The blue fried crab was well seasoned but had an oder and an unfresh taste; luckily we only got two of those. Overpriced for mediocre food i could use worse words but it speaks for itself. The quality of ingredients is incredibly lacking. Chow mein tasted like oily spaghetti, the crabs smelled of ammonia and the meat on it was incredibly mushy. The whole interior of the restaurant needs a facelift with their juice stained tables and humid carpet. This place is good, clean with a variety of foods. It is very large and when we came very crowded. As a buffet they are a great addition to the normal food places. They have a Mongolian style BBQ where you choose the fresh ingredients and they cook it for you. The have rice noodles and octopi which is different than others. WE ate lunch there on 19 July 2021. It is unfortunate the Mongolian Barbeque is not available right now. The clerk explained they are looking for a chef. We were pleasantly surprised that the baby octopus and and shredded seaweed tasted so good. My wife explained that both these dishes are typically rather expensive, so we certainly got our monies worth. Because this place doesn't have good reviews, I was little hesitating to go here. But I had a great experience with them! Weekday lunch was $13.01 with tax and soft drink, their foods are great, and service was not bad like other yelper commented. Well, I have always been a big fan and was really happy to find out they were open again. Then I showed up and my excitement turned to dismay. Apparently there are new owners and only the name is the same. They moved everything around and you have to wear a mask AND wear big floppy plastic gloves. Called a few times to see if we could get it back to pre-pandemic levels but apparently it just fell on deaf ears. So, here it is my fave 5 all gone: The only real reason I go are the snow crab legs....gone("We haven't found a supplier"). After all this time? Don't be fooled by the pics on their website. NO SNOW CRAB LEGS. My 2nd favorite dish was the Mushroom Chicken with the sauce being awesome on the chow mein....gone. They do have a mushroom dish(I don't like mushrooms) but it's just the mushrooms, no chicken and it's sitting in water. Yuck! The 3rd favorite of mine was the soup. Love the Won Ton soup, the egg drop soup was OK. Both gone. Now they only have two soups and they both look like someone threw up in it. They have a Miso soup and something with Tofu. smh. At least have something for the Americans. Next is the pot stickers I love. They still have those BUT NOTHING TO DIP THEM IN!!! Gone is the awesome soy/teriyaki/ginger dipping sauce. :-( Other notable flaws...they had egg foo yung sauce, BUT NO EGG FOO YUNG!! smh. It was our first time eating at this place. We only came because a friend recommended it. And we always love to try new places. I should have actually payed attention to other yelp reviews. Place was not too crowded, maybe because we were there during the week and before dinner time. It seemed that they changed their paying policy (pay first) just recently, which I didn't mind at all. All buffet places we have gone to, you usually pay first anyways. The food was our issue. The food was very tasteless and bland.
