First, let me start this review off as we know dang good and well that we came in 15 minutes before close and that we were going to be paying for takeout. When we walked in five different employees, threw their hands up in the air and started shaking their head no as if they were upset that we came in. We were told at the cash register They are no longer servicing anybody at the tables and that it was gonna be takeout. Cashier had a bit of an attitude. It was just really crazy to me. That five employees within just a few seconds of us walking were upset that we were there. We paid for our food... And we're never asked if we wanted anything to drink to take with us. We had to ask for that ourselves. It just seemed like everyone was upset that we walked in 15 minutes before close. We were not looking for a table to sit at and eat. We knew that we were taking food home. If they didn't want people to come into the restaurant... They should turn the sign off and lock the doors. The food is great... Customer service... Not so much. Now I understand that people who work in this type of industry are very tired at the end of the day. Hence, why we were trying to take food home. Came to this buffet on a Sunday night. I kept hearing how goooood the food was. Needless to say, I had to try it. We were seated right away which was nice. The restaurant was pretty empty, mostly likely because it was close to closing time. I went to get my first plate and as I made my way to the plates, I could see that the food area was in pretty bad shape. There was food all over and mixed with other food and on the floor. The plate I grabbed appeared clean but my fingers definitely caught greasiness underneath and there was also remnants of food under the plate. I obviously left that plate and reached for another. I made my way around the buffet looking at the options. I decided on the Hibachi. Just seemed safer but the noodles were still mixed with the chicken and the shrimp. By this time my stomach was feeling a little queasy. While I realize this is a buffet and people are sloppy, there's no reason for the messy conditions and the dirty floors. The restroom was no exception. Ugh. The owners need to take notice and constantly wipe down the food area for proper presentation. The staff was nice but presentation is lacking. If you're wondering yes it's open. However, it's not the same place it used to be. I went with my daughter (who was free because of her age) and I paid almost ) $19 dollars for just me. VERY overpriced in my opinion, here's why. 1) dirty floors/carpets. 2) there is no crab legs/ Mongolian bbq . There is still all you can eat sushi. 3) the food was SCARCE. At one point there were nothing in the trays. Not even rice or chow mein. All I was able to get on my plate was dried out chicken nuggets and crawfish. I called before going to ask if they still served crab legs. They said "yes". Got there. Found out weekend pricing went up since last time I was there but I didn't mind because I was so looking forward to those crab legs. Pay, get in there and guess what. Yes, Bno crab legs. My buddy and I stopped here on our way back home from a road trip. I've been to plenty of Chinese buffets in my area before COVID. This buffet was disappointing unfortunately. The food was not good :/. Especially the chow mein. Very bland. Service was alright though and the ambiance was "take your grandma here after church"-core, as with most buffets lol. FYI "A" rating on the door. So Mr. Picky said, "Everything I've tasted so far tastes pretty good!" He had started with some seafood dishes. Me, I headed straight for the Mongolian barbecue, and selected lots of minced garlic, shrimp, noodles, onions, mushrooms and peanuts and then put three different sauces on it with the result of a really delicious plate! Best thing I ate -- not surprising given that it is one of the few things that is cooked fresh to order versus being on a hot plate. We then decided to try a tiny amount of almost everything so a couple bites of each dish ended up on the plate and coming to the table and then we would taste it, pass judgment, and decide if something was wonderful enough that we wanted to go back for an actual serving. Our waitress Cici who was serving our table, or perhaps I should say was removing all the dishes as we were done with them, was awesome, she was really all over the job doing it well and with a smile. Delicious!!!! So good. About $12.00 before dinner time which is after 3:30pm Somewhat friendly and super cheap for an all you can eat buffet. You walk in pay at the door and seat yourself. You serve your own drink and pick your food. Somewhat busy on Sunday I've ever been here for dinner. Unclear what's on the menu. I definitely recommend this play. First visit to Sakura Buffet after driving through the mall parking lot during lunch hour. I enjoy most Asian food so I thought why not. A fairly roomy facility with many booths and tables around the room. Today, lunch hour had the place about half full. You pay upon entry, $18 for weekday lunch which includes your beverage unlike many other similar venues which charge $3 or so for your drink. There was four serving islands with hot dishes and soups along with two cold fruit, veggie and seafood stations. A small selection of sushi was on display, but I found it to be stale and laking the quality one typically seeks in good sushi. Hard pass. The Mongolian bbq area proved to be the best offerings at Sakura Buffet. Many patrons were observed loading up their plates in expectation of enjoying the variety of items on display there. The hot items were more limited here than what I am used to finding at similar Asian buffet restaurants denying the value in the $18 charge levied. What they did have was either bland in flavor or overcooked. The two standouts that did seeme returning for seconds was the very tasty Orange chicken and a delicious seafood laden pasta bake covered in gooey melted cheese. A visit to the restroom provided a clean environment although it was clearly showing its age in overall condition. If Yelp allowed half points for reviews, I would give Sakura Buffet 2.5 stars. Three stars is being overly generous and I don't want to give anyone the impression that this place is better than I experienced. Your mileage may vary. read more

I feel so bad for the 2 stars but i just had to, sakura buffet is not the same anymore a lot has changed and i hate the fact that there was only 2 people picking up plates it took a whole hour for them to pick up plates no longer needed and im not even exaggerating on that so since there was no space on my table i couldn't get up to get more food therefore i couldn't vacate the table as soon as possible. I also didn't like the fact that the lady picking up plates passed by 2 times picking up surrounding tables plates except for ours and you could tell we were done with them because we put napkins on top. Im sorry but this last experience makes me not want to go back. We came on a Sunday night around 7:00 p.m. There was ample parking in the lot in front of the restaurant, and the place was full of customers but still with available tables. When you walk in, you are greeted and pay for your meals before starting. It is $15.99 for a weekend day or night, and you can either tip then or later when you are served with fortune cookies. It includes drinks and ice cream. We found a booth and walked around the buffet before getting our first dishes. - Mongolian BBQ: You pile on your plate vegetables, protein, noodles and sauce. I went with cabbage, mushroom, egg noodles, shrimp, and teriyaki sauce. The cook stir fried it for a few minutes, and my plate was ready. - Chinese food: There were a lot of choices, but I'll just list the items I had; salt and pepper shrimp (nice size, not that salty or spicy); BBQ pork chops tasted like Peking spareribs but not as sweet (nice taste though); beef with broccoli (I didn't take any beef, but the broccoli was cooked just right where it was not hard but not mushy); mixed veggies (I picked out the string beans; they were similar to the broccoli and a little crunchy - perfect); cheesy wontons which had too much cream cheese for me (also not an actual Chinese food). Chow mein and fried rice were good. I'd say all were authentic but slightly too salty. - Japanese food: There were maybe 7 different types of sushi/nigiri and 2 different sashimi. I had 1 salmon nigiri (rice was big, salmon was too thin, and didn't have any taste); several pieces of salmon sashimi that were cut in cubes and tasted okay with soy sauce but didn't taste fatty at all. I also had several pieces of sushi, more like California rolls, topped with a variety of sauces. My conclusion is not to come here because of the Japanese food. - Seafood: shrimp cocktail, oysters, snow crab legs; I had about 1/2 lb of shrimp cocktail (sauce was really good! spicy but not too much); a dozen oysters (they had good flavor, but a couple had sand). My husband had about 25+ crab legs; they were hot and pretty good. - Soup: There were 4 soups available, but I didn't try any: miso, hot and sour, egg flower, and Other: Cheesy mussels (yummy but very small mussels); salad bar had about 10 choices including potato salad but didn't try any of it Desserts: Variety of cookies and cakes, jellos, fruits: I didn't try any of that. Ice cream: There were soft serve ice cream, ice cream sandwich, creamsicles, fudge bars. The last several were in the Good Humor box, but all were Walmart's Blue Ribbon products. While not GH products, it's pretty impressive that they were included Drink: Drinks are included. There were a bunch of Pepsi products, coffee. They have an Icee machine, but it's broken Service was adequate. She took our plates quickly and gave us fortune cookies when we were finished. Bathrooms were a little messy, but I feel like it was more that it needed tidying not that it was gross. All the products were there, but the paper towels were overflowing, so there was a pile on the floor. In the stalls, there were some papers on the floor as well, but that's more on the customers. I think they just need to have someone tidy up the bathroom more frequently. I would definitely return. I feel like if I went somewhere else, I would have spent at least $16 anyway. I didn't feel obligate to eat a lot since just my oysters alone was good enough. I wouldn't bother with the Japanese food next time though. read more

BEWARE!! CONTAMINATED FOOD!! I have been going here for many years since it was still called Super King Buffet. Every time I ate here I had the occasional upset stomach. I didn't mind and I'm stubborn this way as my wife always complained about how some of the food and meat here were improperly cooked. However, last night was the worse! I ate their crab legs, crawfish, spare ribs, vegetables from the grill, their tapioca pudding, and some of their sushi. I kid you not, this is the first-time I'm writing a review because I got super sick. I didn't realize how others are getting contaminated food from this place. OMG, one yelp reviewer found maggots in their food!!! After we left, my wife and I went to watch Captain Marvel, and towards the end of the movie, I freak'n missed all the action scenes because I was busy running down the steps and not making it to the restroom. I ended up puking in the thrash can just outside the double doors for a few minutes! Horrible experience, in short, I got food poisoning. (Maybe Salmonella or Hepatitis A would be my best bet.) I left the movies with my wife and continued to throw up, and then some. This place should get a surprise visit for food inspection. I would rate them a C or lower now.
