I really hate to rate this restaurant a 3 because once upon a time, it was a solid 5 for me. These days however it feels like it can be a huge hit or miss. I've been coming to Great Wall since before I was even a teenager. They've been around for decades, and I'm genuinely glad they survived the pandemic. It's also nice to still see some of the older staff around. They've always been very kind if not amazing. Back in the day, the restaurant used to serve chips and dip with jasmine tea at no charge, but those days are understandably gone. My husband and I usually like to order the egg flower soup, orange chicken, fried rice, and beef and broccoli dishes. The portions are still generous, and the prices are still great, which I appreciate. But sometimes the food itself comes out bland, or the soup tastes like it has been sitting around for a bit. We've never gotten sick from the food just to be clear, but the quality and flavor are not always as consistent as they used to be. We still love coming here because this restaurant has such a special place in our hearts, but it is sad to see how much it has changed. Even the interior feels outdated now, and the color and atmosphere seem like they've lost some of their old spark. Overall, Great Wall is still meaningful to me, and I'll probably continue coming back from time to time, but I do wish the food quality and atmosphere felt more like they used to. read more

I used to love going here with my family but these days I cringe when my inlaws want to eat there. The carpet is sticky and bathroom floor sticky. I honestly think no amount of shampooing could legitimately clean that carpet. And by their cleanliness standards I am honestly nervous when we order food. Clean and comfortable environment; the menu has a reasonable number of dishes on it and the food is of average quality. Our server was really friendly, but the other two servers in the restaurant were all business. The food took forever to arrive and the portion sizes were average. One of the dishes was not even as described but we didn't have time to send it back after waiting for so long. It needed soy sauce but we couldn't get anyone's attention to get some. On the plus side, the prices were very reasonable. On the minus side, every person working there was wearing those goofy COVID-era surgical masks and it just was off-putting. Seated fast. This is a long time visit for us. Many years we have come. Over the years it has declinded in the general area. The parking lot was dirty with lots of trash out front. Inside looks exactly the same as coming here as a kid. Major blast from the past. Egg drop soup and wonton soup are both amazing. The orange chicken has great flavor. Tastes like dark meat. Kung poa beef is good. Not spicy at all. The wontons,chips, egg rolls are my favorite!! Chowmein was ok. The star is the spicy mustard! Wow! Packs a punch! The service was fantastic. We love this restaurant. We go here at least once a month. If it's not with my friend, it's what my husband wants to go. Next time we get food I'll be sure to post pictures. I always forget as the food is so good. I eat it too quickly and then go oh shoot I forgot to take pictures. That's how good it is. First time going here a few days ago. Most likely will not be back. The food is mediocre in MY OPINION. The eggrolls tasted like they were old. There was something wrong with them. Either fried in old oil or the stuff inside them was old. Not sure. Left a bad taste in our mouths. The Mongolian beef tastes like beef in watered down ketchup. Me and a friend went there today and was so disappointed and the quality of their food. The wonton chips we got were cold and very stale taste like there are maybe it made yesterday and when I asked the server if we could get new ones, she said that that's all they had at the moment they don't make them fresh every day and then at the end of our meal we're putting our food in our containers, and there was a little black hair at the bottom of our plate when we talk to the manager all he said was sorry about that and we asked if we could get a refund and he told us no because we had finished the food which I understand but if we would've seen it earlier, we definitely wouldn't have eaten it so it was we're very disgusting and I would not recommend this restaurant anymore. First time trying this place out. Won't be the last. Food was hot and fresh, and reasonably priced. Portions are also good in that regard. Combos are great with the steam or fried rice and soup. Tried also the paper wrapped chicken it was SO yummy. Didn't snag a picture of it because it was so good. Great appetizer. Thumbs up from me!! Update: tried the mapo tofu as well as some fried rice. The mapo tofu was definitely a bit lackluster in terms of what I was expecting: a traditional and spicy dish. However it was more of a firmer tofu in a savory brown sauce. No veggies or anything. I did ask for it without the pork though. So I'll take that into account. It was still good, however just not what I expected. Milk tea is the BOMB. Great original flavor you'd expect. We came in for the first time and I'm sorry to say it will be our last. The waitress was passive aggressive. Maybe she's been there too long already. She has zero patience and the food oh no...everything is brown and gray...we didn't see the veggies and everything is covered in a brownish soup. We ordered the shrimp and they're battered in regular flour ...they were ok but the ones we've had at our favorite Chinese place are nice and crispy ...not these...the noodles look sad and very thin. So I really liked this place especially the 3 flavor sizzling rice soup, but over the weekend we also got noodles, beef broccoli and egg rolls and soup. Well Sunday I had really bad stomach pains, couldn't stop going to the restroom and ended up in the hospital with food poisoning for 4 days. What happened here? i have been going here for over 30 years. When the old owners sold out the new owners took a while to get things going but I again enjoyed going there again. But now? Yuck!!!! The food was inedible. The Kung Pao was crunchy, not spicy, and didn't taste anything like Kung Pao. We talked to the waitress about it and that the two of us who ordered it couldn't eat it. It was really that bad. It used to be the best! The waitress said that's how we make it so don't ever order it again. For the drink we got HOTTTTT black jasmine tea, it was the bomb dot com I would definitely recommend it. The wonton soup was so good we loved it. The egg roll was as good as usual with its unique flavor and texture, the paper wrapped chicken was very soft, tender and the right amount of chewy. The fried wontons were nice and crunchy and tasted amazing with the red sweet and sour sauce. The orange chicken and fried rice was delicious as usual, the chicken was soft with a nice big portion, the fried rice did taste like rice, I liked it but not as much as the chicken of course. We ordered take out and was told it would be ready in 10minutes, that should have been my first red flag because when I called to complain, they said food was made to order. I took my first bite and spit it out immediately, everything was hard and stale as if it were sitting under heat lamps for hours. The fried rice was just brown rice, no veggies, no meat, not even egg. There was some weird meat wrapped in foil that we didn't even order. The Mongolian beef had a weird pink color to it, the chow mein was not fresh and tasted awful, and lastly, the orange chicken was hard and seemed like it was cooked two days ago. I haven't sat down at the Great Wall for almost a year now. The quality of food for the "lunch menu" is not as good as it has been in the past. The soup is always on point, however the orange chicken is different and there seemed to be half of beef and broccoli Vs the chicken and pork that was ordered. Which you can see in our photo. We did not eat any of the meat plate before picture was taken. In addition, the "wonton chips" are no longer automatic and free, and now cost $3 if you'd like some. My sever , who did not give her name, said they have been charging for "chips" for more than three years. I have been eating at this establishment since 2014 whether by myself, as a family, or for my graduation party. Never one time in this last 9 years was I charged for "chips" until my most recent trip. For the first time since coming to Great Wall, "chips" was written on the charge ticket, I'm not sure where the inconsistency is here but it was confusing. As always, it was clean and comfortable. The confusion of what was always free now being a charge and also having a smaller portion for one of our lunches was disappointing. I have given this place a 5* review in the past, however would like to update my review and share my experience from this week. I would like to come back again for the dinner menu as a Mother's Day gift. I'll be adding a new review then. This place has been here for decades, and for some reason, the food and some of the servers have been slacking over the last two years. Even during the mandated "stay at home", the food was great, and a bag of "chips" came for free. Do not go to this Chinese restaurant the food sucks and the Owner/Manager is REALLY Rude. I will never go back there, ever, even if it is for free.
