I went with the Cajun shrimp, ultimate salmon, and hot night. The rolls themselves were flavorful and honestly hit the spot. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely satisfying if you're craving sushi. The one thing that stood out (not in a good way) was the imitation crab. It tasted like it had been previously frozen... kind of cold, a little dry, and not that soft, fresh texture you'd hope for. Price-wise, it ended up being a little over $30 with tip, which breaks down to about $10 per roll (6 pieces each). That felt a bit on the higher side for the quality, but I will say I couldn't even finish everything because it was pretty filling. For one person, it's a decent amount of food, but I think this deal would be even better if you split it with someone so you can try a few things without overordering. Atmosphere was chill, nothing special but comfortable. Service was actually a highlight. My waitress was really attentive and kept checking in, which I appreciated. Overall, good experience, just don't come in expecting top-tier sushi quality.

We made it in during lunch and decided to try the Bar Pick 3 Special for $21.99, which includes 3 rolls from their extensive list of options. I have to admit, my wife did a better job at selecting her rolls than I did (lol). Overall, the food was great and definitely hit the spot! This Bar Special is a solid deal if you're looking for variety. We sat at the bar, so the service wasn't top-notch, but the staff was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience enjoyable. If you're looking for a good sushi deal during lunch, this is definitely a spot worth checking out!

Quality/Quantity: The food here is really good and they are very generous with the servings. We ordered the California rolls which were the biggest I've ever seen. Kids chicken teriyaki plate which was delicious and had a good serving of chicken, rice,, and a salad. We also ordered a side of edamame which was okay but needed some salt. Lastly we got the oyakadon. This was really tasty but was not the traditional flavor that I make and am accustomed to but again still tasty. Value: Fair in my opinion considering the quality and quantity of food given. Overall: I will definitely return when I come back to the area. They have a really cool ambiance and nice interior. The spot seems really popular as they had a lot of customers.

---Sad News Folks---…read more It appears that Shogun Sushi has closed its doors due to a kitchen fire. We're told it may reopen, but there are other reports that indicate that's not the case. We're hoping it does reopen, as there was NEVER an argument as to what the premier experience was in the Antelope Valley. By FAR the best quality fish and detail to amazing presentation. So very well done on all accounts. Our best thoughts and prayers to all those affected by this sad event. May they carry on with their high standards and warm hospitality ASAP. Cheers All.

This place has been around for a long time and there's a reason for it. It's a small restaurant with not a whole lot of seats. Usually only 2 servers. It gets really packed so you might wait a bit for service. Their sushi is very traditional. There are no baked rolls or fancy shmancy items. The dynamite is not a roll, but a seafood bake of broccoli, asparagus, mushrooms, scallop, shrimp in some kind of mayo sauce. This thing is phenomenal. I dream of it. Secret menu tuna scallop is another of my favorites. The albacore is so soft and tender, it breaks with just my tongue. The ponzu sauce is hand made by the owner and is the best I've ever had. Spicy tuna roll isn't spicy, but still phenomenal. 10/10 stop by!

I've been coming to Goldfish Japanese Restaurant for over 10 years now…read more I was first introduced to this place around 2010 and immediately loved it. Their sushi was great, and I used to really enjoy their beef and chicken bowls. Over the past few years tho, I feel like the food has started tasting different. These days, the main rolls I still like ordering are the salmon and California rolls. I will say, this place still has some of the best California rolls I've ever had. Unfortunately, the beef and chicken bowls don't hit the same way they used to. Sometimes the flavor is just a little bland, so for me it has become more of a hit-or-miss experience. I do still love the atmosphere. The ocean theme is fun, fitting, and very lively, which makes the restaurant feel comfortable and familiar. My orders also usually come out quickly, and the staff have never given me any issues. I don't come here as often as I used to, but it's still one of the few sushi restaurants in the Antelope Valley that I'll go to.
