When seeing items like monkfish liver, nabeyaki udon, ten-don I was thinking hmmm maybe this place might not be so bad. The tempura batter is solid, very light. I don't really eat raw, so my rolls were pretty decent. I like when a place uses the white ginger not pink pickled ginger The chirashi was decent. All u can eat made me pay $42 for a 9 year old that only had miso soup tried to make me pay for a 2 yr old that ate nothing and a $10 fee for crumbs and crust left on plates do they just come up with a fee there's nothing that lists the charges! I was so upset and disgusted by these people I will try to discourage anyone from eating there it was a horrible time out with my daughter and 2 granddaughters I left feeling very upset & hungry for food that taste good and worth paying almost $200 Shame on them!!! Located next door to 24 Hour Fitness, I been wanting to try this. I finally gave in and ordered a few rolls. I noticed that when we picked up the rolls they would fall apart. I flipped them upside down and saw how there was barely any rice on the bottom of the roll. Not sure if this was uncommon or common practice. We ordered a Sake and what we received was different from what was listed in the menu. The rolls we ordered were okay. They were good but I definitely had better. Service was great. read more

Even the presentation was exquisite. Tuna DLT--We're not sure what DLT stands for, but this was definitely a delight. It has spicy tuna with cucumber and avocado on the inside and seared tuna on the outside. It's melt-in-your-mouth delicious! For the non-sushi customer, I had the monkey brain and they modified the stuffed mushroom to have only crab. It was absolutely perfect. Our waitress, Tabitha was attentive and immediately responsive. I really enjoyed the sushi. It was higher quality than I'm use to so the increased wasn't bad at all. I had the Philadelphia roll while my wife had the rainbow roll. We got a teriyaki chicken bowl for our 2 kids under 3 to eat. However, we were charged extra for a small plate so they could share. (Wasn't told ahead of time) Idk if that is a common practice at higher end sushi places but I was surprised. Food was good though. read more

I get takeout from here quite often. They have a good two roll special for under $20. Their miso soup is really good and you want to add things or delete things and roll. The food was pretty good. We ordered two spicy salmon rolls that weren't bad and a soft shell crab roll that was delicious, but our server made my two friends and I very uncomfortable. We never got his name, but he was a tall, young guy with curly hair. Every time he came to our table to check on us, he would make slightly odd comments like "finally you guys are ordering something other than rolls" or interrupting my friend as she ordered to ask if we were "Team Edward or Team Jacob". To which he made yet another comment about us "picking white guys." He casually asked if I'd prefer to skip the menu and just let him cook, I obliged. This man wants be a legend, he wants to be remembered for something great, his passion burning fierce as his hands move the blade, steady and focused, slice, rice, squeeze, plate, sauce. All so meticulous, formless without form, thoughtful without thought. The plates were handed over the bar, 2 pieces at a time, art work for the senses and the mind, fortune fame jealousy and lust over steamed rice from tattooed forearms. Indulgence. The heat of a smooth beer buzz rising through my veins, an ode to Ichiban and a prayer to the gods who hold reverence for spirits, as the tuna hit my plate while he shucked an oyster behind the bar. These moments are treasured, yet lost, as the curse of being in the moment itself is fleeting. I was visiting my sister in Lancaster and was craving some sushi. They have good reviews so we decided to give it a chance. The place is small but clean. Our server was very nice. We did have to wait a bit until our server came and took our order but she was very nice. The food was good. My sister and daughter liked it. We ordered the baked mussels, spicy tuna roll, baked lobster role, the BRC roll and spicy edamame. I would give them a try next time I'm out there. read more

After looking at everyone else's reviews, I felt compelled to write a review of my own since it seemed to be vastly different from what most people have experienced. I dined in on Sunday afternoon shortly after they opened. Considering we were there on Father's Day, the service was excellent and quick. However, the issues were with the quality of the food. The side of rice was severely overcooked, resulting in crunchy and dry rice. My mom who had ordered a teriyaki bowl complained about the teriyaki being too sweet, the chicken was bland and dry and the rice was hard. The tuna nigiri and yellow tail that my sister ordered complained about how sad, flat and discolored her fish was. It did not appear fresh at all. The tempura vegetables were decent except for the potato because, I believe the potato was undercooked since it's not supposed to be crunchy? My nieces ordered octopus and the octopus was so chewy, it was inedible. She couldn't even get a bite off, thats how rubbery it was. My cousin's Udon soup was pretty bland. She had to mix some of the miso soup broth to give it more flavor. I had ordered the baked salmon roll, which was pretty good in my opinion. I also ordered the avalanche (shrimp & crab) which was the perfect combination of what I liked. (I'm not big on raw sushi so this is what I prefer) I have a feeling that the rolls probably taste better than the actual sushi because in the rolls you have other ingredients that can mask the flavors, but in nigiri the main ingredient is the fish and the rice, which both did not hit the mark today. Don't think I'll be returning here to give it another chance. However, bonus points for customer service, when telling them about the rice, they offered to discount the kitchen items that included rice (side of rice & teriyaki bowl). They even asked if we wanted any to take home, which was not necessary, the point was for them to be aware of the overcooked rice. I come here all the time w my son. We love it at this location. The service is usually good, no problems. Everyone has always been friendly. This visit I came w my boyfriend. We just had some sake bombs and light appetizers. The sake bombs are average prices here. No special discounts, which I think would bring more business. We had the spicy garlic edamame and shishito peppers. The edamame had a great flavor and plenty of minced garlic. The shishito peppers were some of the best I have had flavor wise. The sauce and cook was perfect, not overly cooked or charred. The location is small but there's a lot of parking within that shipping plaza. I'm a big fan of Kaze, but this was my first visit to this location. Ordered some Albacore sushi and a Yellowtail DLT. The chef was nice enough to give 3 pieces of sushi instead of two, but they completely lacked the usual smokey flavor. I live in LA and am visiting a friend in Lancaster. I was craving sushi but was scared to Door Dash anything in town (no offense Lancaster) I looked at customers pics of this place and if you know sushi you can tell by the pics generally the quality of the fish etc. I got an order of all nigiri-don't love rolls- and I was blown away by the cuts of the fish, the quality of the fish, the presentation (got delivery) It was way above what I expected. Delicious! Nigiri sushi was so fresh, melted in my mouth. The rolls were beautifully made and delicious. Ambience, staff, chefs were all pleasant and professional. The yellowtail collar was baked and not grilled which I've never had before made that way. I wasn't a big fan, it was still fresh and tasted good with the ponzu sauce. But I love grilled collar, but they don't have a grill. Either way, I highly recommend this place. read more

This was my 2nd and last time coming here. First time around wasn't terrible, I just thought their rice lacked flavor. Second time was just a disaster and disappointment. It's hard for me to give a business a 1 star, but man did they earn it. I'm not sure how long did it take to finally get a server to offer me a drink and another a menu, but after that from ordering to actually getting food took ~30 minutes if not longer. I kept hearing servers go back to the sushi bar to ask the cooks (let's be real these guys aren't sushi itamea) "Table # is asking how much longer for (insert item)." However, waiting wasn't the problem. I'll gladly wait if the meal is well worth it in the end. Sadly, this was not the case. When I finally started getting my items I was disgusted by the gray meat on my salmon nigiri. I completely lost my appetite. Out came out my rolls (which I didn't bother taking a picture of) but you can see the same gray meat on it. If this place is trying to be a sushi restaurant then they should really practice "Me de Taberu" - a Japanese phrase, meaning "to eat food with eyes". Because after all, before smell or taste we see our food first. Never did I have a cook or server ask me if everything was alright. Sipping down my drink one came up to me to offer a refill. I said no. That I would just like my check and a box to go. I paid and left the restaurant, didn't bother acknowledging staff when they said thanks. But when I checked the grade of the business it was down to a B. Gross. I got home and decided to give the leftovers to my pets. That's when I discovered that they don't even clean the salmon well. A fish scale and a bone... are you kidding me? Specifics of what was wrong: - Rice had no vinegar flavor and it was dry. - Salmon had gray meat, fish scale, bone, and it was warm. Like they don't bother putting it back in the cooler. - Ginger was warm and dry. - Service is slow and doesn't come to check up. - Had my ice melting for 30 minutes because no server came around to offer a straw. You can decorate a turd with all the kale, lemon slices, and daikon but in the end it's still a turd. read more

I tried Kaze Sushi in Lancaster twice to make sure my first visit was just as good as my second visit! First time I sat at the sushi bar with sushi chef Danny which he is awesome and second visit we sat at a table. Well... last nights dinner with the family was yummy! Finally, a good sushi restaurant in Lancaster!! After trying a few different sushi restaurants and being disappointed so many times... yes finally Kaze Sushi is here! Everything was delicious and they were really good with all our special requests, ex: sauce on the side, no cucumber in the spicy tuna roll for the lil ones... no mistakes, everything was excellent!! The staff is so friendly and such a beautiful ambience. All plates came out beautiful!! Unfortunately I did not take any pics but I will on our next visit! I came at around 2 pm where there were maybe two other tables filled and the rest was empty due to the time. So the place was not busy. We ordered a few rolls and some drinks here. My 8 year old daughter ordered a Philadelphia Roll. While she was eating it she spit out a piece of plastic (see pic). Then she spit another piece of plastic a second time. She told me she swallowed the first one thinking it would be okay until the second and third time. So I told her to stop eating it and for me to let our server know. The server took the plate and came back and said sorry but the chef in the back forgot to pull the plastic off the roll from where the cheese was. I'm upset of course b.c. with all the studies on PFAs and the harmful effects of plastics to the body. No one should be eating plastic. The server asked if we wanted anything but we already had lost our appetite. The server gave me my check and only the Philadelphia Roll was omitted and nothing else was comp nor was there an apology from the chef/manager/owner. That made me very upset. The total amount was not very much because we were only halfway done ordering. but it was the lack of credibility that bothered me. I told the server that I have no problem tipping him generously but that I don't think it's fair that I have to pay for everything. I asked to speak to the manager. A woman came to me, I'm not sure if she's a manager or owner as she didn't tell me. But the first thing she did say to me was along the lines of "What is the issue here?". I said 'my daughter just ate plastic and I'm very disturbed by that. Honestly I don't think it's fair for me to pay the entire bill and I don't have a problem generously tipping the server as it's not his fault." She said she had kids herself and that she didn't think it was a problem! So I questioned her, "Really, is it not disturbing to you if your kid ate plastic?" She said "fine if you don't want to pay the bill you can leave but as a mother what you are doing is wrong!" So I said "okay I will leave then.". She had to jab me at my mothering skills for worrying about my daughter eating plastic? No one should be eating plastic. God forbid her body is full of micro plastics that will harm her in the future. Health is important and maybe not everyone is aware but it should be made aware. Not everyone agrees on things. That is fine. I obviously do not agree with her approach and as a someone who has worked in the restaurant industry before, when chefs make a mistake, management always takes accountability to make things right. But this tells me, that the owner/manager/representative of leadership that day did not take accountability or responsibility for their mistakes, and someone eating plastic doesn't seem like a big deal to them. The woman even insulted my mothering skills. Of course, I will never go here again because this leads me to believe there may be other issues that are unknown and maybe harmful to the customer if these are their standards. The server was just doing his job so I gave him a $20 cash tip for my $55 bill. read more

The food and service cannot be beat by any other sushi spot in Lancaster! The inside is a very nice layout so even when they're very busy it does not feel crowded or cramped. We are always treated very well and made to feel very welcome! The food is always fresh and correctly prepared. The appetizers are SO wonderful (the fried peppers & ponzu served w/ the soft-shell crab visit me in my dreams)!! The sashimi is tender, fresh, flavorful, and generous! The sushi rice is perfect every time. The scallops just melt in your mouth! The rolls are exactly what the menu says they are with no surprises - they are never mushy or soggy!
