Had the tuna and salmon roll with blue tuna sushi, and bowl of Miso. Miso had great flavor. Salmon and Tuna melted in my mouth great preparation and presentation. Great atmosphere for casual conversation.

Surprisingly decent! Stopped by here while supercharging on the way to mammoth. Was the closest thing and totally not expecting good food here in Lancaster. When seeing items like monkfish liver, nabeyaki udon, ten-don I was thinking hmmm maybe this place might not be so bad. The tempura batter is solid, very light. I don't really eat raw, so my rolls were pretty decent. I like when a place uses the white ginger not pink pickled ginger The chirashi was decent. Rice was unfortunately not sushi rice and not enough sugar and vinegar. But the fish wasn't bad quality. The service was very friendly.

    Spicy Tuna DLT Roll
    Chavonne S.

Tuna and salmon sushi was ordered as "special," which came with slices of jalapeno and onion and two kinds of fish egg. This was a flavorful mix that tantalized my husband's senses. Even the presentation was exquisite. Tuna DLT--We're not sure what DLT stands for, but this was definitely a delight. It has spicy tuna with cucumber and avocado on the inside and seared tuna on the outside. It's melt-in-your-mouth delicious! For the non-sushi customer, I had the monkey brain and they modified the stuffed mushroom to have only crab. It was absolutely perfect. Our waitress, Tabitha was attentive and immediately responsive. Excellent customer service.

I f-king love real wasabi. It absolutely beats the pants off that super green horseradish paste every single time. And guess what folks? This is the place you'll find it. Legit. I sat down and asked for uni, my go to, then for Otoro, the love of my life. Neither were to be found this night, but I discovered something more. After pouring a beer at the bar, I filled out the usual form, mostly chose the usual things, and sent a beer to the chef as well. He casually asked if I'd prefer to skip the menu and just let him cook, I obliged. This man wants be a legend, he wants to be remembered for something great, his passion burning fierce as his hands move the blade, steady and focused, slice, rice, squeeze, plate, sauce. All so meticulous, formless without form, thoughtful without thought. The plates were handed over the bar, 2 pieces at a time, art work for the senses and the mind, fortune fame jealousy and lust over steamed rice from tattooed forearms. Indulgence. The heat of a smooth beer buzz rising through my veins, an ode to Ichiban and a prayer to the gods who hold reverence for spirits, as the tuna hit my plate while he shucked an oyster behind the bar. These moments are treasured, yet lost, as the curse of being in the moment itself is fleeting. As per the usual when you see a chef coat, don't ask for a menu, instead be bold, be curious, and ask for creativity. Two thumbs my guy. Smoke. Cook. Eat.

Very cute decorations. Fresh fish and overall good sushi. Sashimi was cut a little thick and prices were a bit on the steeper end.

No one came to take our order until 3:00 PM--which, conveniently, is when the lunch special ends. When I brought this up, I was told no, which felt unfair since the delay wasn't our fault. We ordered a dinner box with 3 fresh rolls and 3 baked rolls. The baked rolls came out fairly quickly, but we waited about 40 minutes for the dinner box. When I asked the waitress, she said "2 minutes." Five minutes later, I asked another waiter, and he said "5 minutes." In my family, we don't start eating until everyone has their food, so our baked rolls just sat there getting cold for about 20 minutes. I did bring up my concerns, but nothing was done to resolve the situation. At the very least, I expected some kind of gesture--maybe a small discount or even a complimentary dessert. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression, and I won't be coming back.

The restaurant was clean and the fish was fresh. Got the Goyza to start, the baked salmon roll (no crab because I'm allergic ) and the crunchy shrimp roll. Unfortunately, when we attempted to call the restaurant, it was already a little past closing time. We also contacted DoorDash, and the delivery driver explained that he simply delivered what the restaurant provided. Our kids were understandably disappointed since some of the missing items were part of their meals. The following day, my husband called the restaurant to explain what had happened. They were very understanding and kindly offered to provide the missing items that same day; all he needed to do was stop by and pick them up. We truly appreciate when businesses take the time to make things right. I'm sure it was an honest mistake, and their willingness to resolve the issue speaks highly of their customer service. We will definitely continue supporting this restaurant, though we may choose to dine in moving forward.

I went with the Cajun shrimp, ultimate salmon, and hot night. The rolls themselves were flavorful and honestly hit the spot. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely satisfying if you're craving sushi. The one thing that stood out (not in a good way) was the imitation crab. It tasted like it had been previously frozen... kind of cold, a little dry, and not that soft, fresh texture you'd hope for. Price-wise, it ended up being a little over $30 with tip, which breaks down to about $10 per roll (6 pieces each). That felt a bit on the higher side for the quality, but I will say I couldn't even finish everything because it was pretty filling. For one person, it's a decent amount of food, but I think this deal would be even better if you split it with someone so you can try a few things without overordering. Atmosphere was chill, nothing special but comfortable. Service was actually a highlight. My waitress was really attentive and kept checking in, which I appreciated. I do want to start by saying the host who greeted us was very pleasant and kind. I didn't catch her name, but she made a great first impression. From there, our server (I believe her name was Daisy) rushed us to place our orders, despite the fact that we were her only table at the time. It felt unnecessary and made the experience uncomfortable. When we mentioned we were celebrating a birthday, her response was simply, "I know," with no effort to engage or make the moment feel special. To be fair, she did bring us a couple of refills, but overall her attentiveness and social skills were not up to par, especially for an occasion like a 16th birthday where a little extra effort can make a big difference. In contrast, the cook was fantastic--very entertaining, personable, and truly made the hibachi experience enjoyable. He was definitely the highlight of our visit. However, service continued to be an issue. We had to rely on the busser for additional soda refills and eventually had to ask another staff member (possibly a manager) for the check and assistance with acknowledging the birthday. Unfortunately, there was little initiative from our server to check in or help make the celebration feel special. To be honest, the automatic gratuity was disappointing in this case. A $55 tip was added, but the level of service we received did not reflect that amount. I hope management takes this as constructive feedback and provides additional training, especially around customer engagement and attentiveness, because the overall experience could have been much better with stronger service.

I did a little research on Tokyo Steak to see what others were enjoying. In my opinion it's not much. I dont ever go to teppanyaki places. Last one I been to was Bennihana so I guess that's the standard. Unfortunately Tokyo Steak falls short. The Pros. The staff was friendly and for the most part attentive. The beer was cold. The Cons. I have to agree with others in saying the place is outdated. Not too much but it would be nice to see a fresh look here. Decor is nice but just need to be slightly refreshed. The chef, well they were nice. It just felt lack luster in effort trying to entertain. It wasn't sloppy it was more so less enthusiastic. Still nice though. The food. Well Im gonna be honest. I have better food at more casual even consider fast restaurants. This includes both quality, taste and execution. The sushi bar was closed so no sushi. I was a bit sad but in hindsight it was a blessing in disguise. The fried rice lacked flavor. Steak is cooked in teriyaki and lacked flavor and overall quality. The shrimp was mediocre. Salty was the only flavor profile. Veggies same. Salty and lacked depth. Tempura was okay. Edamame was okay. The food is prepared starting with the rice first then the proteins then the veggies. I think the veggies could be cooked along side the proteins. So that it all comes out at the same time. Oh well. Overall the food was meh, lacked depth, and was either just salty or tossed in a basic teriyaki. The price. After everything was said an done. A few beers, fountain drinks, 4 appetizers and dinner for 6 adults and a chile was $430 which included tip. Was it worth it? Probably not. I wouldnt recommend tokyo steak. However I do think all this could be easily turned around. Some upgrades to the decor. Change some of the recipes so that each protein is unique. And add less salt / soy to the fried rice. And lastly stop using margarine on the proteins and rice. Its literally just adding more oil.
