I took my babies out for sushi on a Saturday night and loved how bright, casual and family friendly it felt. Bianca was our server and she was patient and kind as it took us forever deciding. I'm glad she let me know about the kids menu. The spicy tuna crispy rice was super crunchy. The egg rolls were super crispy and went well with the sauce. The California rolls made my kids feel like sushi pros lol. Both kids loved their beef teriyaki and beef ramen. The beef was a win. The Thai tea was sweet and creamy and also their favorite. Honestly I had low expectations since I can never find great Asian food in the AV, but I actually really like this place! I think their baked salmon roll is prob the best I've ever had even! That and the omega roll are my favorites to get. I dont think the sashimi is well portioned for the price (2pcs) personally, and I don't think the fish used for at least the salmon sashimi is as good quality as the baked salmon rolls they have honestly. First of all I can't believe we hadn't tried out this place. We love sushi & are always looking for places to try out. Apparently, they have been over 3 years now. I guess you can say it's a hidden gem to say the least. When we first arrived, we were a bit skeptical because the restaurant was empty. We were quickly greeted & asked to have a seat. The restaurant was very quiet since we were the only couple dining in. As we looked over the menu, we noticed numerous people walk in for phone orders & delivery orders. After looking at the menu, we decided to try out the Refreshing roll, Mexican roll, Sexy roll & Salmon Collar. We were quickly impressed when our rolls came out. They looked amazing. We noticed they had light rice & plenty of protein. We were in love after having our first bite. With every bite, we loved it even more. After eating half of our sushi we decided to ask for a container to go because we were still waiting for the salmon collar. The salmon collar took long but it was well worth it. I Walked in looking for a good sushi place as I am always looking for good places to eat or the next best place, I was caught by surprise by this location to say the least, I ordered a aguachile roll,steak roll,and the sashimi I haven't seen this roll in any other sushi restaurant so far (aguachile) it was really good with the right kick, The area/restaurant wasn't that busy wich had me doubting it but I don't mind it not being so busy,The ambiance was good as well really homely feel, the waitress was really nice it was just a good place. i walked in, noticing that they were making fresh rolls, and that was a big plus as some places I feel they have pre made and stored in the fridge. Spent around 80$ with drinks included came out full and really pleased. Long story short, it's delicious, and so far, this is the best sushi place i have found. I found this place out of convenience because it was located close by to where I was at the time. It's located in the far corner of a shopping center, but there's plenty of parking in the lot. When I walked in, the only thing in there that indicated it was a sushi restaurant was the fresh fish behind the counter. There's nothing aesthetically pretty inside this place and there's definitely no theme or decor. It looks like a (sloppy) converted Hispanic restaurant... there was no TV, no music playing... pretty quiet actually. The server was sweet and polite, but very new, as she told me when she first sat me down. She didn't know the menu items and she had to ask the sushi chef what rolls had certain ingredients in them, as I have speciality diet needs at the moment. Since the place only had one other table, I thought I would get my drink and appetizer quickly, but no. The food took forever to get to the table, but when it did, I was pleasantly surprised. The 7 pieces of sashimi I ordered were big and thick! I also ordered another roll, which had no rice in it, but it was wrapped with imitation crab meat instead. Super delish and fresh. The miso soup was great, but may have more seaweed than someone is accustomed too. The salad was fresh and crispy. The teriyaki chicken was delicious with a surprisingly bit of vinegar taste. Tuesday-Thursday from noon-4 is a 10% Happy Hour discount. Diana, the waitress, was attentive and sweet. They appear to have a steady pick-up clientele. I finally come around to writing a review about this place: hands off my favorite restaurant around. They have a great variety of foods to my liking and it's always super hot and ingredients fresh (I typically order for delivery) and they have never disappointed me! I have tried the bento box, their chicken yakisoba, some sushi's, and most recently their chicken ramen. Very good and savory broth, great portions all around. Noodles have a perfect texture! My wife's sister and husband recommended us to try this sushi place as we've been to many of the others in the Antelope Valley and have to say we found our new place to have sushi from now on. Upon arriving we were welcomed by two hosts who let us sit anywhere we wanted as only one other family was seated. Didn't bug us at all that there was only one other family there as shortly after several showed up and more just picking up their orders and leaving. We ordered the garlic edamame, which is a must if you like edamame and garlic. We then ordered the 5-piece Shrimp Tempura, cooked perfectly, nice and hot when it arrived at our table. For our main meal we ordered the Cajun Shrimp Roll and the Cesar Roll. Both were excellent in presentation and overall taste. I'm allergic to avocado and asked them to put half on and half off for the Cesar Roll, they obliged and even gave some separation to show which one had avocado. The Cajun Shrimp Roll did not have any, it tasted great and had some good spice to it. If you like plum wine, they have a good one that is served cold and adds to the meal. Customer service by the hosts was very very good, attentive, always making sure everything was okay with us. We were told the sushi chef has been professionally trained, which showed in the presentation and quality of everything we ate. We asked how long AV Sushi has been there, and we were told over 4 years. What a mistake not to come sooner. Total price for everything was very reasonable. Almost didn't see the location. Food items I got were good, chicken was a bit dry. I accidentally poured the "teriyaki sauce " onto my chicken teriyaki roll, turn out, it's mixed with soy sauce, which made my whole roll salty. It was empty when I went, only seen 1 person taking out in the time I waiting for my food. They give eel sauce, no spicy mayo. Chicken teriyaki roll wasn't on the menu. I would go back. Quiet and clean tucked away in a strip mall corner. I walked in and was immediately greeted and seated. The waitress was very friendly. The AA health department grade was posted and affirms my review. The restaurant was very clean and organized. The restroom was also spotless and had hot water. I ordered the Yellow Fin sushi and the Chicken Ramen with spinach added. The sushi was served pretty quickly and was delish. The ramen took what I initially thought was a long time (maybe 10 minutes) BUT in retrospect, it was not long at all...because the ramen noodles were perfectly cooked (they were not mushy) and the spinach was fresh. The broth was flavorful...I could actually savor the chicken broth and slight miso flavor that was not overpowered by salt. This was a great ramen lunch and I'll be back next time I'm in town. read more
