Went to Yoshi Sushi on Wednesday first time. I hadn't had Sushi in while. New owners at this location and I kinda shied away. When I walked in I was greeted and asked if I was having AYCE? Me: Nope ... ‍I asked my waiter if the Itamae could make me something special -- I love letting chefs get creative. My waiter was super sweet and translated everything since the chef mostly spoke Japanese. I told them I like lemon and spice, and the chef checked my spice level using hand gestures, which honestly made the whole thing even more fun. He made a roll with lightly cooked fatty tuna, avocado, shrimp in the middle, and just enough heat to make me happy. It was so good I basically inhaled it. Food took about 5 minutes to be ready. Seemed like they forgot the ginger and wasabi I requested. The sushi tasted fresh and delicious. It was a great price and I would come back again. This place was recommended by a friend. I'm not a big sushi person normally, but I've been trying it more and more. We ordered AYCE around 4:30pm on a Friday, the place is very clean and stylish. The staff was incredibly friendly, and present, but not in a way that's hover-y. We ordered a mix of 2-pieces and rolls, and it was honestly so good. So many pieces were just melting in your mouth, not to mention, the rolls are THICK. So glad we went back again to try them one more time. Now that they have their full menu and bar open. Service is still a 10 out of 10. They treat their customers like true guests and make you feel so incredibly welcomed. We tried four items off the menu yesterday: 1. UFO appetizer - this was delicious. Very generous portion. Great for sharing and very creamy. Wonderful flavor. 2. Cherry blossom - this it's not something we usually would order, but we pleasantly surprised. This role had a really nice to fresh flavor. My only suggestion would be a sauce on the role something light and citrusy with a company it perfectly. 3. Crazy horse - this roll is so big. It could honestly be two rolls in one. What we liked about it was it had a real crab in it. We are not fans of imitation crab. 4. Sashimi salad - this was delicious. I will probably order this every time I come back. The dressing on the salad was lovely. Plenty of fresh fish and wonderful flavor. Be mindful that this comes with the dressing on it. So if you think you may not eat it, I'll ask for it on the side. So glad there's finally an AYCE sushi place again in the AV! It's a little bit different from a normal all you can eat sushi but still totally worth it! So the way it works is you get two rounds off all you can eat. But even though it's only two rounds you can order as much as you want in each round as long as you finish all your food. There are about 5 rolls that are considered specialty rolls and you can only order one per person in the first round and the mussels you can only get two orders per person. Everything else you can order as much as you want! The quality of the seafood is really fresh and tasty. They give really large portions of fish and not too much rice on the nigiri which is good. Watch out for the rolls though, they'll creep up on you and you'll be full before you know it! The rules are tasty but you get full pretty quick. The restaurant itself is pretty nice, it's in the old Harbour Sushi location. The one thing I really like about this place though is that they don't force everyone at the table to do AYCE which is prefect since my wife and daughter only eat about a roll each while I can eat way more. The portions are generous for being a happy hr menu, they were fast and super friendly. They worked fast to get us seated even when it was busy. I visited the Grand opening of a new sushi restaurant in Palmdale, Yoshi Sushi. This restaurant is located in a very busy shopping center, and so it may be difficult to find. But it is right across from Target and is next to Baskin N Robbin's ice cream. The restaurant has a very wide open dining area. It also has a separate dining area for large groups. As you enter into the restaurant, you will notice the sit down sushi bar. The staff greeted us and we were instructed to sit anywhere we liked. Luckily for us it was Happy Hour! Their Sushi menu had a good selection. We opted for the Lexus, Palmdale and Rainbow rolls. We liked the Lexus and Palmdale because these rolls had shrimp tempura in the center and it gave just the right amount of crunchy. What I did find to be unfortunate was the fact the seats had no cushions. So become prepared. read more

Spicy garlic edamame felt & tasted too oily. There was hardly any "spice" to it. I believe they couldn't improve on that since it did taste like a butter garlic almost. My chicka and I went for a much needed girls day out for catching up. We did the all you can eat. And let me tell you we got our fill! The service was quick, kind, and impeccable. The rolls were fresh and literally swimming on our plate. We loved all our rolls. Quick disclosure, we found out this place just recently opened and seemed more like a soft opening. They didnt have baked or fried options...yet. So we tried their handrolls and sushi/sashimi. In just a few words, Very Fresh, and their rolls are big! They are not stingy at all with the thick cuts of sashimi. We ordered their Hawaiian roll, wild zebra, salmon roll, California rolls, salmon sashimi and yellowtail sashimi. Every option was beautifully presented and equally delicious. I got the one for $23 which comes with: 1) a salad or miso soup 2) chicken teriyaki, gyoza, or baked mussels (choose 2), and then 3) 2 sushi rolls from a limited menu. My husband got the $27 special which has everything in the $23 special + 1 extra roll. We walked out of there STUFFED - it's so worth the price! The service is fast and you can tell they actually care about their guests. The interior is also a huge upgrade from the previous sushi bar - it's bright, open, and modern looking. You only get 2 rounds of all you can eat while other all you can eat sushi places give you 3 rounds. You are limited on the baked mussels as well. Staff is very friendly though. If this is your first experience eating sushi and you didn't like it, don't give up. Just go SOMEWHERE else. This place is horrible‼ I ordered the AV special, 2 item combo. Probably my second mistake besides choosing this restaurant in the first place. The miso soup was pretty mediocre. But I was still hopeful. I got a double order of gyoza. If I smothered it in a sauce, it had taste. I ended up pulling them all apart in the middle, for fear of breaking a tooth on the way too crunchy edges. The content of each were so skimpy, it would've fit nicely in four of the eight pieces I got. I ordered a flaming jalapeño roll and a salmon crunch roll. Let's just say I had to search for the jalapeños on the flaming jalapeño roll. I've always seen just nice slices of jalapeños on top of the roll. The spicy tuna literally looked like some gross brown color (imagine dog food). The roll was a nice size. Let's just say they're extra generous with their rice while rolling. The salmon crunch roll, I don't even know where to begin. The crunch layer on the outside was very, very thick and not crunchy at all. I'm not even sure where the salmon was. The chefs here are masters of sushi magic, putting as little fish in the rolls as possible, while still making the rolls look big. I'm not sure who else has noticed they're getting very little of the substance they came here for in the first place...fish. I spent a lot of money for rolls of rice last night! My partner and I went here, and maybe we're biased and have our favorites, or maybe we just know great sushi when we have it. This sushi was just ok. We had high hopes for it. The rolls were big (almost too big/thick imo) almost feels like they're trying to cover up that the fish isn't the freshest and they're stuffing it 80/20 ratio of rice. It's also over priced, but I guess that's kind of where we're at these days. The ambiance is good, the service was fine, if you like tempura/baked/special rolls with all the sauces and mayo and cream cheese this may be the place for you, but if you're someone like me who likes the fresh rolls, there is definitely better out there. Lots of chefs. Slow slowww service. Our rolls were super huge cant fit one piece in your mouth and stuffed with crab mix. The popcorn roll did not look like the pic and the popcorn pieces were all burnt. We asked for no creamcheese in our rolls as well and they came with creamcheese, we didnt want to wait for them to remake them because it took forever to get our rolls in the first place. We ordered the AV Special which was ok and an order of Yellowtail Sashimi which was NOT even OK. Great food, but beware of dishonest service. The food here is excellent, but unfortunately, the service I received was very disappointing, --and worse, I believe I was scammed by the waitress. Here's what happened: When I was ready to pay, the waitress (Celeste) brought the check on a small clipboard. I handed her my credit card, and she said she needed to get the payment machine. When she returned, she placed the clipboard on top of the payment terminal and set both on the table before walking away--leaving me to complete the transaction myself. I found it odd, but proceeded to check out. Only later did I realize that the total was nearly $10 higher than the amount on the original check. When I reviewed the receipt, it showed a 25% tip--which I did not authorize. I now believe the waitress selected a tip amount before handing me the terminal, then covered the screen with the clipboard to hide it. It's a deceptive tactic, and while the food was great, this kind of behavior is unacceptable. If you choose to dine here, double-check everything at checkout to avoid being taken advantage of. When I called to report the issue, Celeste answered and refused to let me speak with a manager, claiming no one in charge was available all day. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and I hope management addresses it. read more
