I was really disappointed with my experience here. We arrived at 2:53 PM and were told to sit anywhere. No one came to take our order until 3:00 PM--which, conveniently, is when the lunch special ends. When I brought this up, I was told no, which felt unfair since the delay wasn't our fault. We ordered a dinner box with 3 fresh rolls and 3 baked rolls. The baked rolls came out fairly quickly, but we waited about 40 minutes for the dinner box. When I asked the waitress, she said "2 minutes." Five minutes later, I asked another waiter, and he said "5 minutes." In my family, we don't start eating until everyone has their food, so our baked rolls just sat there getting cold for about 20 minutes. I did bring up my concerns, but nothing was done to resolve the situation. At the very least, I expected some kind of gesture--maybe a small discount or even a complimentary dessert. Worst sushi in ALL of Southern California. They weren't really that busy for a Saturday night so we thought an hour and a half would be enough time to grab a few rolls before our movie. Nope not the case at all. We were sat with no menus and no tableware. At first we got 1 menu to share between 5 people. We had to ask for plates, chopsticks and napkins. The rolls took forever to come out. I could've driven to Big Tuna in Palmdale and gotten a roll before they got ours out to us. They came out all on the same plates. The rolls fell apart. They basically disintegrated when we tried to pick them up. The baked salmon was absolutely disgusting. It was just a warm cream cheese roll. The other rolls were mid and that's being nice. They offered to take off 1 roll. I didn't even care at that point. We got what was edible to go. Not even sure why, probably just because I paid for it and at $200+ for dinner it was a waste. We all left the restaurant hungry and ended up late for the movie. Never again. Don't waste your time or money. Walmart has better sushi rolls and you'll get better assistance. read more

This a cute little sushi joint. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were able to choose where we wanted to sit. The food was really decent. The uni was really creamy and the taste was great. That was probably the star item for me. I ordered the chicken karaage for appetizer and it definitely was not what I expected lol. It was good, but it was more so like a giant basket of popcorn chicken and not the chicken karaage I'm used to at other sushi joints that's give me about 5-6 nice sized pieces on one plate. I ordered the scallop tempura roll and the dragon roll. My friend ordered the ono roll and the red dragon roll. The eel on the dragon roll was tasty. No complaints for the food other than how overwhelming the basket of chicken was. Ultimately, I give this place 3 stars because the service was lacking. Not very attentive and I've had to sit a while with an empty cup until my friend or myself stopped someone to help us. read more

I've been in Lancaster 3 months moving from Los Angeles and I have to say. Best sushi I've had in a while. Food was excellent, everything tastes the way u expect it. The way the restaurant has shows you dignity and respect through a dish amazes me fully. Service is excellent. A little dark in there but besides that everything was absolutely perfect. Our waiter was a spectacular older Japanese lady who knew exactly how to take care of us. ANYTIME I WANT SUSHI RED SALMON HAS MY MONEY. I 100% recommend you will leave satisfied with the food, service, and price. One of the few restaurants who value their customers and make sure you get what u want and everything was okay. We even accidentally ordered a raw sushi roll That my pregnant wife couldn't have. This will be a little biased because I have a fav sushi spot that I didn't feel like driving across town for. The rolls tasted good, but were not rolled well, kept falling apart on me. They did great with the sauce, I feel like a lot of to go orders kind of skimp on that or think I don't notice but oh I do. When we walked in, the first thing that hit us was the noise. It was so loud we had to yell across the table, and even then, our server couldn't hear us. Honestly, it sounded more like a Super Bowl party at a sports bar than a sushi restaurant. Right away, we noticed another odd thing: items listed on the menu weren't even on the order sheet. Our server had to scribble them down just to try and get them in. Then came the letdowns--one after another. Everything we ordered seemed to be "out." Every few minutes the server returned with yet another item they didn't have. By the time we pointed out how surprising (and frustrating) it was to have half our order unavailable, she basically stopped coming to the table altogether. At that point, it was obvious she was avoiding us. When food finally started to show up, we thought maybe things would turn around. We were so wrong. The halibut was rubbery--honestly, I didn't even know fish could be that hard to chew. The salmon collar somehow tasted completely burnt, even though it didn't look burnt at all. The tempura shrimp inside the rolls was old and stale, and the "crispy rice" was anything but--it was just stale rice. And to top it all off? When we asked to speak with a manager, we were told there wasn't one. No one in charge. No accountability. I've never had such a bad experience at a sushi restaurant. Stopped into Red Salmon while visiting Lancaster for a few days. It was the only restaurant within a close walking distance from our hotel, so we initially made the choice to stop in solely for convenience, but left satisfied and excited to have found a new spot we enjoyed! The rolls were tasty, a great size, not stuffed with rice, and priced fairly. We ended up ordering takeout from them one evening a few days later on our trip because we enjoyed their rolls. Definitely a solid spot for sushi. Red Salmon is located along a small strip of businesses in the parking lot of a hotel. There is plenty of free parking shared among the businesses for customers. Their inside space has several tables and a sushi bar for patrons to dine in. They seem like a popular local spot and were busy with customers on both occasions we stopped in. As noted above, our food was good. I especially enjoyed their Baked Salmon Roll and California Tempura Roll. The Baked Salmon Roll seemed to have a unique, perhaps, garlic tasting sauce that made Red Salmon's version of this roll standout among other places I've tried. Loved it! Red Salmon is our new spot when visiting Lancaster. Everything looked delicious that landed on our table and surrounding us. We're looking forward to coming back again the next time we're in town to try even more of their rolls. read more

This place is getting worse. Ordered 5 rolls last night and dinner box. It took almost 2 hours. When we placed the order, we had some specifications and sure enough they never fail to disappoint. 1 of the sushi rolls was totally different. I called and no one answered. Called again and phone was now off the hook for it was a busy tone for 30mins. Called after they closed hoping someone would answer, still off the hook. Im going to rate this place a 2/5. The food is good but one of the waiters was rude and never helped us. I don't know if its because she believes "teens don't tip" but im all for tipping when the service is good. My favorite rolls from this place are the Philly and the rattlesnake roll. When it's super packed they'll put you on the waitlist and text you when your table is ready, so it's easy to go check out the little boutique next door. The waiters are always great too. I love this place, it's my favorite sushi place in the Antelope Valley. The only thing I will say is the wait time is pretty long to be seated and when you're already seated and you're waiting for your meal. But it's definitely worth it. First time here but definitely returning. I went in on my birthday with a friend but I wasn't sure what to expect. It was pretty busy but the waitress greeted us immediately. After a few minutes we were seated at bar with the sushi chefs. Our chef was George. He was such an amazing host from beginning to end. Diet Sushi. That must be what they're going for here. I had four pieces of nigiri sushi that had the smallest rice cake ever formed by hand. And the small amount of fish sitting on top of it unfortunately looked scale-correct. Meaning, very small. The three regular rolls ordered (tuna, salmon, yellowtail) were very small in diameter so, correspondingly, the amount of fish inside each roll was literally so little I almost laughed. But the amount on the check to-be-paid was normal sized. And the 'B' hidden on the front window, somewhat out of view, should have been an indication that all was not up to snuff. So, with this unfortunate experience behind me I'm lead to inquire with others as to their experience at Red Salmon. Small cuts of fish? Not quite as fresh tasting as hoped for? That was my take-away. Not good, and with expendable income being something to be stretched a bit more these days, I'll have to say I won't be returning. Back to our favorite, Harbor, in Palmdale, where the fish is cut larger, always is very fresh (only one poor dish in years...), and prepared and presented in a lovely manner. Be forewarned!
