I love this place, it's my favorite sushi place in the Antelope Valley. The only thing I will say is the wait time is pretty long to be seated and when you're already seated and you're waiting for your meal. But it's definitely worth it. I usually order takeout, I usually do this because it's super packed, but the service is always friendly. One thing I will say is when it's busy you will have a hard time getting somebody on the phone to take your order. read more

The scallops are fake scallops! Just so you all know. Otherwise food and service is great!

I really wanted to leave a 5 star review. Close but didn't make it. Place is good. I will be going back, but it wasn't 5 star. First, I don't like cold edamame. Even worst was cold shrimp tempura, the roll would've been good if the tempura was fresh. For a busy lunch rush, you would think they could rotate out hot and fresh tempura rolls. I also ordered an appetizer, which never came out, thankfully it wasn't on my bill. Probably should give it 3 stars, but the few times I've been here, the food has been good. Just not amazing. Should I expect amazing in Lancaster? read more

This was my first time ever having sushi. It was very good and fresh. The service was good, waiters/staff were attentive. The place looked clean, and although it was super busy the staff warned us that wait times may be a bit longer for the food but it wasn't a long wait at all. read more

This review is mainly about the service. So my husband and I came here after my City of Hope visit as I was starving after fasting for 24 hours. Our server was Allison she was not good at all. Not friendly, didn't smile at all or say hello. The moment we sat down she immediately asked for our drink and food order. Like ok, we just sat down give us a minute please. So we ordered and the food was good. Sushi was nice and fresh. I liked it so did my husband. To the manger or owner. Please have Allison smile some,be friendly, be excited about working here. She didn't come back to check on us. We had to get her attention to bring us some water and togo boxes I do plan to come back when we're in the area. I just won't have her as our server. We did tip her well. All in all the food was good. read more

Diet Sushi. That must be what they're going for here. I had four pieces of nigiri sushi that had the smallest rice cake ever formed by hand. And the small amount of fish sitting on top of it unfortunately looked scale-correct. Meaning, very small. The three regular rolls ordered (tuna, salmon, yellowtail) were very small in diameter so, correspondingly, the amount of fish inside each roll was literally so little I almost laughed. But the amount on the check to-be-paid was normal sized. And the 'B' hidden on the front window, somewhat out of view, should have been an indication that all was not up to snuff. So, with this unfortunate experience behind me I'm lead to inquire with others as to their experience at Red Salmon. Small cuts of fish? Not quite as fresh tasting as hoped for? That was my take-away. Not good, and with expendable income being something to be stretched a bit more these days, I'll have to say I won't be returning. Back to our favorite, Harbor, in Palmdale, where the fish is cut larger, always is very fresh (only one poor dish in years...), and prepared and presented in a lovely manner. Be forewarned! Diet sushi has no place in your dining experience..! read more

I've been looking for a sushi spot in the AV so decided to stop by Red Salmon. Atmosphere: They play music loud. If that isn't your scene you might want to stay away. After living in NY-NJ for so long I felt like I was in a scene of a nightclub. Songs by Katy Perry, Nikki Minaj, Usher and more. I half expected other customers to get up and start dancing... (or maybe me). It was good music, just loud. Anyway, I could barely hear the person I was dining with. I don't know if this is normal as I've only been once. Service: It took about 1 hour for us to receive 4 rolls. To be honest, we were going to order more but we didn't have the time to wait another hour for rolls. So after our meal, we left (still hungry) and decided to go to the grocery. Food: The rolls are great! But they are small. My sushi partner and I usually order 4 rolls to split and most of the time we are filled up by all 4. This time, I could have easily eaten all four and still been hungry. Which after waiting for an hour for food, it was a serious let down. My sushi was good, but I would definitely order more next time. Would I Come Back? I always try and give a spot a second chance. The combination of super loud music, extremely long wait time, and small rolls leaves a read more

This place is really friendly the service is always on point. Itamae took it upon himself to make our sun a little bear with fresh oranges. Loved it! The sushi here is really good. I had the chicken teriyaki and although it was good it had a little to much garlic, that was all I could taste. My friend had a tuna roll wrapped in seaweed, she said it was very hard to chew. Another friend had a tempura shrimp roll that she didn't really care for. The service was good and very fast, but it was dark and made it hard to read the menu. read more

First time here but definitely returning. I went in on my birthday with a friend but I wasn't sure what to expect. It was pretty busy but the waitress greeted us immediately. After a few minutes we were seated at bar with the sushi chefs. Our chef was George. He was such an amazing host from beginning to end. I wasn't sure what I was looking for and he began to ask me questions about the kind of things I like to eat. He would make recommendations and they were always spot on. He really took care of me and my friend the whole time and the rest of the staff was so friendly. read more

I will be very generous and give them a two star because their food was very good, but service is horrible

For context. I have been going to gold fish sushi for 16 years. Never had an issue up until February 2025 when I got horrible food poisoning. Me and a couple other friends went and we all had the same thing except I had yellow tail and they didn't. Later that night I was dealing with the worst food poisoning of my life. Fast forward to now at red Salmon that I had yesterday with my girlfriend. I had yellow tail again and a salmon skin salad. Well here I am dealing with another vicious bout of food poisoning. Either they are cross contaminating, have a temperature issue, or are purchasing bad product. Needless to say, I am writing off both restaurants. Red salmon and goldfish are both owned and operated by the same owner. The service at goldfish is much better than red salmon. There have been quite a few times at red Salmon. They have forgotten to bring me part of my order, or they just have taken forever even when the place hasn't been busy. I'm extremely disappointed in both restaurants and before something serious happens they need to get it together. read more

Customer service: it was just fine. Didn't really say hello or anything. They just kind of look at you waiting for you to tell them why you're here. They forgot a few things of our stuff & they were nice about it. The vibe in there was very much like no one wanted to be there. Food: When a restaurant DRENCHES EVERYTHING IN SAUCE, you know that they're trying to COVER UP the fact their fish is probably NOT fresh or tasty. Everything just started to TASTE ALL THE SAME because it was all SWIMMING in the same DARK BROWN SAUCE. The vegetable and shrimp tempura I was very much looking forward to but unfortunately the tempura sauce was terrible. It was SOUR, VINEGAR-Y. I don't know if they gave me the wrong sauce but it's suppose to be more mild and if anything sweet. Definitely nothing like it. Baked salmon & lobster roll are one of my favorites & this was the absolute worst. BURNT BURNT BURNT. SO TERRIBLE. I wish I could emphasize these words more. I COULD NOT get that BURNT taste out of my mouth for awhile. One of the WORST I've ever had. Very disappointed in this. I've attached pictures to show how all of this is just IMMERSED IN SAUCE & how BURNT the sushi is. I didn't bother to get pictures of the other stuff. It all looked pretty much the same. UNRECOGNIZABLE ROLLS COVERED IN A BROWN SAUCE. Even the crunch roll, like how do you mess up basic roll like the crunch roll which is for my 11 year old niece? Oh right, the dreadful brown sauce. Words to describe the food coming out of this place? BURNT. TERRIBLE. DISGUSTING. I have been going to this place for years and have seen how progressively bad it has gotten. But I'm loyal & when they make it right, it's really good. But unfortunately, it's happening more often than not that the food their putting out is trash. If you like drenched unrecognizable rolls, then it might just be for you! I'm really UPSET we spent $100 on this. During this pandemic, everyone is struggling to make ends meet & work very hard for their money. Definitely feel like this was such a WASTE to give money to an establishment that I'm sure is feeling the same way about this pandemic. Please train your cooks/chefs to make better food. read more

DARE I SAY, RED SALMON's MY FAVORITE SUSHI PLACE?! 5/5 STAR's Let get one thing straight : Granted, I've lived in Lancaster/The AV for what seems like a lifetime. If I'm not willing to travel for good sushi, Red Salmon is my #1 the place to go. When I can afford it that is FOOD - is DELIGHTFUL and the menu's variety is PLEASING! Their BAKED MUSSELS, TAKOYAKI, and SOFT-SHELL CRAB are, appetizers yes, BUT by far the most lovely savory treat one could ask for, in my opinion. 10/10 WONDERFUL! SERVICE - Their service quality VARIES based on how busy they are TRUTHFULLY. They always seem to be quite busy and packed when I go, most times. So, I'd mark their service as SATISFACTORY (3.7/5) AMBIENCE - is FAIRLY NICE! It's not much different than a traditional sushi restaurant/bar but it does have a touch of a "fancy-dinner-like" feel at night! It's definitely a little on the nicer than other sushi restaurant/bars! (3.9/5) OVERALL, it's definitely the best sushi place in Lancaster! 5/5 STAR's is well deserved! :D read more

Ordered $40 worth of food, 2 rolls, two soups. The last two bites if my roll were burned! How does a seafood place send out burned food?! This is the last time we order from red salmon. They very clearly knew it was burned because the burned pieces had excessive amounts of sauce on top. I also know it's overcooked and burned because the shrimp is so tough my fingernail won't even cut it with ample pressure. Nasty! Also ordered miso soup and I was basically given a bowl of broth. There were two pieces of seaweed and two pea sized cubes of tofu in the whole bowl. Not worth the money!! read more

We've been here many times & it's been good, but this last time was so disappointing! I think it's because they have too much business with very little employees, so they're always running to give people service. Also, the place has gotten way too small for the amount of people that go eat in there!!! They need a bigger location. So, I ordered what I always do, Vegetable Miso soup. Immediately I notice it's not filled to the top like it usually is, I take a sip & it tastes & looks like oil instead of broth & what was supposed to be extra cabbage was a piece of paper in the soup!!! I was SOOO disappointed because I was already home & I couldn't have them remake it for me. I was so hungry, too! I called to complain & they're going to give me a free one next time, so that's good. I took pictures to prove my point. read more

Red Salmon is one of the better sushi places in the AV, but take that with a grain of salt because the selection out here is pretty grim. SUSHI RECCOS, YOU'RE WELCOME: Here's what I recommend ordering for two people: - Start with miso soup and Krispy rice spicy tuna roll for appetizers - order the 911 roll, tuna tataki, hot night roll and volcano roll for dinner - if you're feeling extra hungry, order the dinner box and split it between the two of you This dinner comes out to $80-ish in total. After trying as many rolls as we have on the menu, this has proven to be our favorite grouping of rolls. The baked salmon/scallop rolls are really good too. A NOTE ON WAIT TIMES AND QUALITY: My boyfriend and I live right down the street and we've never been consistently happy with the takeout service. Excusing the times they're extremely busy, there's been nights where it was dead and we got cold dishes from our servers. And to those of you complaining above wait times... it's a small business, and a small restaurant at that. There been help wanted signs posted up FOR MONTHS. They're understaffed so plan your night accordingly... BETTER SERVICE THAN IN 2020: The service, I will say, has gotten better since I started going here in November 2020. As of June 2022, the employees I've come across have been warm and welcoming and pretty attentive. However, when you order takeout and they say they'll call you when your food is ready, half the time they don't call on time or forget to, and your order will be cold by the time you pick it up. Stay on them if you're waiting past 35 minutes. My advice is to eat in on a less busy day for a good experience and order takeout on busier days about an hour ahead. WHY IM GIVING 4 STARS: 4 stars because it's good sushi in the AV and they've never disappointed us to the point where we wouldn't go back. Krispy rice rolls are bomb here by the way... lost out on a star bc of the amount of times we've gotten cold rolls we were supposed to get warm bc staff forgot to call. Management should have someone dedicated to takeout orders FRI - SAT nights... it's incredibly busy on the weekends read more

Called to see what the wait time was and if they accepted reservations. I was told there was about an hour wait, and no reservations. I decided to head right over just to check because I was fairly close and wanted to try the place out. When I walked in I was shocked to see about 3 empty booths, at least 4 empty seats at the bar, and several small tables empty. There was no hour wait, we walked in and were seated immediately. I don't know why the person on the phone would say that when there was only about a 10 minute gap between my call and my arrival. The place couldn't have cleared out that fast. I felt uncomfortable the entire time I was there, but the person I came with wanted to stay so we did. Don't know what to think of this place. Strange read more

My father in law loves Red Salmon! He loves the prices, he loves the food, and he loves the service...My only complaint for Red Salmon is my father in law wants a t-shirt...The official answer from the sushi chef is you have to work there to get a T-shirt. My father in law is 80 years old, and I think he would be a good host for one day.... All I ask of Red Salmon is to hire my father in law, Tom Lucky Dog, for one day, so that he can get a t shirt, and then you can fire him; but please let him keep the shirt... You don't even have to pay him, just give him a free meal, let him wear the shirt, and let him go.... He loves Red Salmon so much that he bought a "red salmon" t shirt on Amazon, but it wasn't the same, as your logo (which he loves) with the knife and fork and the salmon (it might be chopsticks - I don't know)... The food and the service and the prices are great... Please let my father in law buy a shirt or give him one please... He eats there minimum one time per week, but it is more like Two to three times... read more

Time to find a new sushi spot! Every time I place a pick up they give a time estimate and tell me they'll call if it's ready before then. Yet they never fucking call, ever! Which is really annoying considering half the time my order is ready before the estimated time they give. Because of this I know to go in earlier then the time they give and my order is always sitting there ready. Here's a suggestion, stop telling people you'll call when it's ready, if you're not going to fucking call. It's really that simple! But honestly this isn't my main issue and reason for this review. I've been a loyal costumer to red salmon ever since they opened way back in like 2015 or whenever that was. And over the years of course prices have gone up, especially when the pandemic hit. But they've now raised their prices again!! Has the quality gone up at all? NOPE. Has it gone down. YES. What really gets me is that my order is always the same, but for some reason when I get it, it's always made differently which sometimes really affects the taste. I understand y'all have different chefs, but there really should be more consistency in the recipes. Like look at the photos attached, y'all don't even stick to what's listed on the menu!! They use to, but now it's just whatever they feel like ig? Idk seems like a false advertising to me. Like idk do any of you see the smelt egg in the recent photo??? Cuz the last few times I've ordered it's been missing. Weird cuz it's on the menu? Anddd to make it worse they been skimping on the lemon. Like bruh it's literally a LEMON ROLLLL, why out of all things are they skimping on the lemon. The menu literally says lemon on top. They use to put a thin slice of lemon on each roll and then they switched to a thin slice in between each roll. And NOW they just put 3 kind of thick slices that have seeds in between some of the rolls. Like wtf??? Can y'all at least just stick to what's on your menu????? Especially since y'all so quick to raise prices! With all this, I think it's time to start finding a new sushi place, just tired of being disappointed! read more
