So donuts, fish, chips, and more and I'm here for all of it. Stopped by on a Sunday evening. I don't know if it's the same owners but my daughter used to come here 10 years ago or more. The hubby started coming here to buy donuts for us a few years back. We love the donuts. This is my first time here and I wanted shrimp ,fish,and chips. Donuts as well too. I noticed that they had customers coming and going . They also have a place outside dine. They have an incredible selection of delicious donuts, pastries, and cookies! I had a hard time wrapping my head around a donut shop that does fish! I finally tried it and was I glad! I had the captains platter. It came with fish, shrimp, zucchini, and fries. They had all the sauces you could possibly want and didn't charge extra for it. The portion was huge, I could only eat half of it. The people there are very nice and helpful. Not only that they offer day "new" donuts for a huge box for $10! You can't beat it! I highly recommend you try this place. I assure you, you'll be a regular. They have nice patio seating on the side and a seating area in front of the restaurant. The selection is crazy. Today I was out shopping and ran across this place again and again and decided to try this shop out. Now I'm not going to lie y'all I was sure that when I opened the door to this restaurant I was expecting to get a whiff of fish and chips but no it's smelled sweet like donuts which I was so happy to see so I'll look around the shop and they have all sorts of knickknacks that they sell at like yard sales and swap meet which was cool so I ordered about five donuts 2 lemon filled and a some glaze donuts and some jumbo holes. The donuts are very tender no after taste what so ever the glaze was good the only problem I have with the place is that the donuts were very doughy. The woman that worked in the shop was very nice. I ask about a jam that they sell and she said the owner makes the jam which was interesting so they hock donuts, fish and chips and jams mango habanero jam, other treats too. Went to cakes and donuts at 44405 valley central way for some fish and chips. Nastiest fish and chips ive ever had. The fish wasn't crispy. It was soggy and the batter wasn't cooked in the inside. The fish and the fries tasted and smelled like they hadn't changed the oil in a long time. Never will i go to that place again. The person that cooked the fish for me is a lady that is short and fat. I'm usually a regular there. Women at the front this morning completely changed her tone and attitude towards me when I was just asking about the price of a donut? I genuinely thought it was a little cheaper then what she told me since I go there a lot. Didn't even get to ask because she just snatched the donut off the corner and left. I checked this place out this morning and thought it was a pretty cool little spot. I bought 3 donuts and a pecan roll for $6.85 (including their fee for using a debit card). I thought the donuts were good, better than the ones they have in stores, but nothing too special. They didn't have a very big selection even though I was there a little before 6am BUT they have quite a selection of treats! Cookies, candy, and all kinds of pastries!! I been at this place atleast in 7 different occations and this is the third occasion i notice the owner mistreating his employees talking to them like animals. This was the last time i step into this buisnes ! Wow, the donut was extremely delicious!!! I had to get one too compare to Spudnutz which I had this morning and these are so much better! It was so fresh that they must replace them all day since I ordered in the evening. The not so good : I ordered chicken strips and they were SO thin. Each side of the breading was just as thick as the chicken, too! Dry and rubbery. I ordered extra crispy fries and they were all soggy. I think they just gave me ones that were already sitting from a previous order. If you look at pictures, some people get crinkle cut and some people get straight cut. I got the straight ones ; there is 0 consistency. They should just take the chicken off the menu because their fish is actually very good and the complete opposite. Juicy and very thin breading. Cool place for a 1st timer to try out. RemInds me a lot of food you'll find at the County Fair. The fried fish (Long John Silverish) family meal was decent. The fries were slightly burnt, which is how we like them. But the 2nd time I ordered fries was disappointing with the inconsistency of the fries texture. There's a lot going on here. Almost TOOOOOO much... Kind of expensive... The day old donut boxes are a pretty cool buy. Won't be going back after noticing multiple customers that were allowed to enter and purchase items without a mask on. There is an area for other bottled and bagged foods. The menu should make you think twice but we really wanted fish and chips. There are so many choices of food you know it is all premade. The shrimp is okay. The fries are passable (if eaten right away). Do not bother with the scallops or clams. The pastries I have had were satisfying, but not great.
