We tried Pescadería Big Fish in East Lancaster for the first time, and all I can say is... wow! This place is a hidden gem. We're originally from the San Fernando Valley, where there are a lot of seafood markets like this, so walking in brought back a lot of nostalgia. I had no idea this place even existed until someone recommended it, and I'm so glad they did. My best friend was visiting for the weekend, so it was the perfect opportunity to check it out. As soon as you walk in, you'll see fresh seafood displayed on ice that they fry to order. We ordered a whole tilapia, a whole snapper, fried baby squid, a small container of ceviche to try, and tortilla chips. Everything was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. The ceviche was excellent, and the fried fish was perfectly cooked with amazing flavor. The customer service was outstanding. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They were pretty busy, and there was a line when we arrived, so expect a bit of a wait. But once you taste the food, you'll understand why this place stays busy. It was well worth the wait. We took our food home, and it was still amazing. This is definitely going to become our go-to spot for fried fish. We'll absolutely be back again and again. 10/10 highly recommend! read more

Pescadería Big Fish is a hidden gem in the Antelope Valley! From the moment I walked in, the service was on point, friendly, helpful, and quick. You can tell they take pride in what they do. The seafood was fresh fresh... not just fresh on paper, but you can taste the difference. I had the catfish and red snapper, and both were cooked perfectly--crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. Exactly how it's supposed to be done. We need to support spots like this. There are not many "You Buy, We Fry" seafood places left out here in the AV, and this one deserves more love and more business. I came into this place for the first time this evening to get a couple of rainbow trout fillets. Vons and Albertsons used to sell rainbow trout fillets, but they've been out out of season for at least a year. It's hard to find now. Most local fish markets don't even carry trout in the Antelope Valley; however, when I called the shop earlier, the person who answered said that they had some in stock, and I was quite surprised. When I walked in, it seemed like there was a lot of foot traffic coming in and out, and the owner, who calls himself 'Fish,' was giving out free samples of deep-fried octopus with hot sauce. Quite tasty actually. He was really nice and personable. He was able to give me some trout and also another fish called 'whitey' or 'whiting,' which he cut into fillets for me to take home. The prices were reasonable, too. They have a big menu with lots of options where you can order any fish and they'll fry it for there for you. He then offered to give me the head, spine and tail of the trout for free- to give to my cat. I thought that gesture was really sweet of him. So I came in here a few weeks ago and it was so good I took a bunch of pictures and completely forgot to post it! But I've been craving it so much lately I just placed a pick up order and figured this was the perfect time to write a review ! First off if you're not getting the hush puppies, Get them! And if you are getting them, Get extra cause they go fast ! D; I came in a day where luckily Fish the owner was there and he gave me and my family soooo much hospitality! He let us try some of his own food! Which was the seafood boil which was great and the stingray. Although I wouldn't eat it again because I love the animal, It was realllly good ! The fish selection is so large and the quality you can tell right through the glass doors is great ! Not only can you get fresh seafood to cook at home you can also get some of the best made to order food there also ! I didn't eat my food until I got home and it was cold but it was so good I didn't even feel the need to heat it up which is super rare ! Amazing and super flavorful. I finally got to try this place after passing by it and let me tell you I regret not coming in sooner. I got the siete mares seafood an and the ceviche de pescado which it was so delicious and let me tell you it did not disappoint. The caldo was super flavorful, full of flavor and the taste was phenomenal. 100/100 You will not regret getting this. They can also adjust the items in the caldo if you don't like a certain item. I also just ordered the mega combo with shrimp, baby octopus and calamari with fries. 1000/1000 you want to come for more. The service is 1000/1000 they go above and beyond and they are so kind. I love the warm welcome that they give you here. Love the variation of salsas, sodas and tostadas that they have here. Their chips are the best along with their spicy salsas. I literally devoured the entire dish a few minutes ago and just had to write a review. For reference, I had pregnancy cravings and desperately needed fish & chips. I found this place on yelp, and since it's 2 min away from my house, decided to give it a go. First thing I noticed was the cleanliness of the place. It was very bright inside and welcoming. The lady who took my order was super kind and patient with me, as I ordered my Mix & Match with catfish and red snapper. As my husband and I waited for our order, the owner of the shop began to chit chat with us because he noticed that we were new customers. The entire interaction was nothing other than amazing. He was so attentive, friendly, and most of all - passionate about his family business. Craving some fried fish and I tried this spot near my house. When I arrived I was greeted by staff. The owner was there that day and was nice and personable. I order a sole and fries. I called to order ahead of time 15 minutes wait wasn't too bad. I got the fish tacos it comes in an order of 3. I saw this place on Facebook and decided to give it a try. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I was told if we come in on Friday and order something you are entered for a raffle for a free combo or wine and paint on Saturday. The seafood looks really fresh and there isn't any bad smells inside. I saw fried baby octopus on Facebook so I ordered two pounds. I asked how they cook the shrimp since it had shells on, he said they butterfly the shrimp and is their homemade seasoning then deep fry it. I ordered two pounds of that a well. Lastly I wanted a while fish and asked about the tilapia he said $6 for small, $8-$10 for medium, about $12 for large fish which is really good prices. I got a large fish. They fried everything up for me and I took it home. The seafood was really good and really fresh. I was really impressed! The whole fish was flaky on the inside and the skin crispy on the outside. The shrimp was pump and juicy, and the octopus was pretty good. I'll definitely be coming back! Fresh seafood plus uber cool out for you can't beat it! I'm a pescatarian and I love seafood and this place just opened. For starters there's plenty of parking. An extra plus is that they're open on Sundays and most fish markets are closed in Los Angeles on a Sundays. It's a family owned and operated business. They have music blaring outside that is so inviting. Everyone was super friendly and Raymond was beyond helpful. They also have a fish market in Los Angeles. The fish market itself is nice. They have various seafood. When we came in they greeted us and also gave us complimentary ceviche with chips. The ceviche was delicious. Everything is sold by the pound. Apparently the owner seams to be "cool" a "good person" but really he didn't act it in front of my family who we took out to pick up food to eat. His cash register woman was nice even offered sting ray for us to try since we were intrigued of what kind of seafood that was. When she offered us samples the boss hid behind the wall and was neglecting the offer and made the nice lady look bad because no samples were given after that.
