The decor alone is stunning -- dried roses hanging from the ceiling and so many thoughtful little touches that make the whole experience feel special and intentional. You can truly taste the love and passion the chef puts into every dish. The rotating menu keeps things exciting, and everything is always incredibly fresh. It's rare to find a place that feels this unique while still being so warm and welcoming. Can't wait to come back and see what's next on the menu.

The waiters and host were amazing, super kind and accommodating, and the service was perfect. The food was fresh, well-seasoned, and delicious. Definitely get the fermented sourdough bread with the pesto butter--it was delicious. The homemade whipped cream was delicious and the lavender drink was really good too. The wait time was a little long, but the food matched the price. Parking was easy with a big lot. Not the most dairy-free-friendly spot, but I was able to take off most of the cheese. We'd definitely come back for brunch.

Large kitchen facility behind can be seen through huge plate glass window. You can order various prepared meats, sausages, cheeses, paste & sauces from the deli counter to take out or eat in along with wines to pair it with. I chose to eat inside which has bistro tables & chairs along with the house red wine du jour. Didn't notice a sales person who could take on the role of sommelier & would advise what types of wines would pair with the ordered food. 1) I bought 2 oz portions to taste and chose: a) Bresaola air dried beef with black pepper, Porcini mushroom, celery powder not made in Lombardia, Italia, but distributed from Brooklyn, NYC. b) Sujuk, an Armenian style of domestic origin, that was "uncured" beef, lamb, red wine, garlic, celery. c) Prosciutto but not "di Parma", but some domestic U.S. production. All the above prepared meats were acceptable, but not exceptional in comparison to what I had in Italy although I have not been to Armenia. 1-3a) The house red wine was Casa Silva Terroir de Familia Carmènere Viñedo de los Andes Valle de Colchagua, Chile. It tasted flat, dull, insipid; not particularly interesting red wine of any note. The staff member was accommodating, helpful if not the most informative & knowledgeable about the comestibles and libation that I had ordered. For a far off outpost like Lancaster, Simplicity is impressive, and the selection of meats and cheeses are extensive. However, what I had sampled did not particularly impress. 3 stars.

The vodka cream sauce was very flavorful but the shrimp was pretty much not there, and that was an additional 8 dollars. The red pepper sauce was bland. You build your dish- pick the pasta and sauce, add protein etc for additional cost. I added shrimp to mine and there was maybe two in there cut into 4 pieces each. The bread sticks came with 4 at 22 bucks a piece, tasted a lil frost bitten. Overall a bit pricey and the food didn't quite match.

You can tell they take pride in what they do. The seafood was fresh fresh... not just fresh on paper, but you can taste the difference. I had the catfish and red snapper, and both were cooked perfectly--crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. Exactly how it's supposed to be done. We need to support spots like this. There are not many "You Buy, We Fry" seafood places left out here in the AV, and this one deserves more love and more business. If you want good portions, real flavor, and great service--tap in with Pescadería Big Fish. I'll definitely be back. #SupportLocal

I came into this place for the first time this evening to get a couple of rainbow trout fillets…read more Vons and Albertsons used to sell rainbow trout fillets, but they've been out out of season for at least a year. It's hard to find now. Most local fish markets don't even carry trout in the Antelope Valley; however, when I called the shop earlier, the person who answered said that they had some in stock, and I was quite surprised. When I walked in, it seemed like there was a lot of foot traffic coming in and out, and the owner, who calls himself 'Fish,' was giving out free samples of deep-fried octopus with hot sauce. Quite tasty actually. He was really nice and personable. He was able to give me some trout and also another fish called 'whitey' or 'whiting,' which he cut into fillets for me to take home. The prices were reasonable, too. They have a big menu with lots of options where you can order any fish and they'll fry it for there for you. He then offered to give me the head, spine and tail of the trout for free- to give to my cat. I thought that gesture was really sweet of him. My little girl was quite satisfied when I brought it back home to her. Thanks, Fish! I'll be back.

Dear Gonzalez Meat Market Management,…read more I am writing to formally bring to your attention a concerning experience I had at your Lancaster, California location. My intent is to make you aware of several issues related to both food safety practices and customer service, as these are matters that directly impact public health and customer trust. First, I observed what appeared to be serious health code violations. During my visit, a staff member handled raw meat and then proceeded to touch other surfaces without properly washing or sanitizing their hands. Specifically: - Raw meat was transported from a neighboring location and handled in a way that created a risk of cross-contamination. - The individual handling the raw meat also handled the exterior of the bag, which can transfer bacteria. - Afterward, the same staff member touched cash from the register, soda cans, and prepared food items without changing gloves or washing hands. This sequence of actions raises concerns about cross-contamination and food safety, especially since customers directly consume these items. Secondly, I would like to address the customer service experience. At the time of my visit, there appeared to be insufficient staffing, with only one chef and one cashier managing a high volume of customers. As a result: - There were approximately 20 customers waiting, and service was significantly delayed (around 20 minutes or more). - Several customers ahead of me were still waiting when a customer who ordered after me received her food first, despite placing a larger order. - My order was simple (four carne asada tacos and Mexican rice), yet it took longer than expected without clear communication. Additionally, I was informed that the grill was down, which contributed to the delay. While I understand that unexpected issues can occur, this was not communicated proactively, and there was no effort made to accommodate or compensate for the inconvenience. I had requested grilled onions and grilled jalapeños, and given the delay and circumstances, it would have been a considerate gesture to provide these at no additional cost. Instead, I was charged and met with an unprofessional attitude when I raised concerns. Overall, the combination of potential health code violations and poor customer service created an experience that was both disappointing and concerning. I hope you take this feedback seriously and implement corrective measures to ensure proper food handling procedures and improved customer service moving forward. This place has strong potential, but a few operational improvements would really elevate the customer experience. During busy hours, more staffing and a clearer order system would help reduce long waits and ensure customers are served in the correct order. I'd also recommend reinforcing basic food safety practices like preventing cross-contamination between raw meat handling, cash handling, and food prep, as well as keeping the grill consistently running during service hours to avoid delays. Lastly, when delays happen, small gestures like complimentary items or waiving small add-ons can go a long way in maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty. Sincerely, B. Orona Blackshire

It's a little shop located in a strip mall with some tables and chairs inside and limited seating outside. Walked in and it seemed pretty quiet with just one other customer waiting for their orders. Customer service was just OK. Looked over their menu and decided to go with the turkey sandwich. Step one is picking your bread. They offer a variety of eight breads to choose from I went with whole wheat bread. Step two is picking your cheese and they have a variety of 16 cheeses to pick from I chose pepper jack. Step three is the condiments. I went with all and if there's anything you don't want, you can subtract it. The turkey sandwich I ordered was OK. They were very generous with the turkey. It came with all the vegetables and fixings, but I couldn't figure out what was giving it a salty taste. Should've went with a different selection of bread as the wheat bread was very, very dry and crumbly. Paired my turkey sandwich with jalapeño chips and a Coke.
