A few months ago, my family and I were out on one of our marathon grocery-shopping excursions, and I overheard my wife tell our oldest that she had an unusual craving for a candy she once had as a little girl. While trying to be thoughtful, which doesn't happen as often as it should, I set out to buy some of that candy for my wife. It couldn't take but a few minutes, right? Needless to say I looked all over the place, over a period of several days, and nobody sold it. But recently a friend told me about an unusual store that sells unique candy, soda and other hard-to-find items. I found this business on Yelp and I was on my way here. Upon entering this Rocket Fizz, I was greeted by a friendly gentleman, the store owner. I made a short tour around the store, not finding my desired candy, and then the owner kindly asked if he could be of assistance. After telling him the candy that I was looking for he said that he would have a shipment coming later that day, with this candy included. Upon entering this store the following day, I was greeted by different store employees, the owner's sons. It turns out that this is a family-owned business. I should have known, because the young men helping me were just as friendly and professional as their father, each with a sincere smile and a desire to be helpful, which seems rather rare nowadays. They quickly directed me to my desired item. I left the store extremely pleased with my find, along with the service provided. It's very unusual to find someone that is willing to go out of their way for their customers, especially for a small purchase like mine. I'll be back. I highly recommend you check this place out as well.

My mom went to this store on Friday June 26th and she was treated so poorly by the STORE MANAGER…read more Her name is Tawnie Smith. This old lady was so ruined to my mom and her friend. My mother and her friend are both Hispanic ladies so they felt very discriminated, but they went into the store to find the dumplings for my mom's friend granddaughter, but my mom was also with my nephew and he then wanted the dumplings too. So my mom asked Tawnie if they had any available and she said they did and my mothers friend bought the dumplings but when it was my mom turns to purchase them she didn't not want to sell them to her because she said it was 1 purchase for household. So my mom told her that they didn't live together which THEY DONT, but Tawnie the store manager decided she just didn't want to sell them to my mom. My mom asked her why if they didn't live together and she was more than willing to show her her ID but Tawnie proceeded to make up an excuse that the dumplings were only for kids. Like I stated before my nephew was with her and he wanted them. So my mom then tells her then is my grandchild not a person because his with me and he is wants them but Tawnie did not care and just made the decision not to allow my mother to purchase them simply because she didn't want to. So my mother decided not to continue arguing with her so she proceeded to check out the items she was allowed to buy, but Tawnie decided she wasn't done harassing my mother and proceeded to harass my mom by demanding my mother to move from "her way" with a cart. My mom told her she would not move that she could go around. Tawnie did not like that my mother didn't move and Tawnie decided to push the cart towards my mothers way so the cart could potentially hit her, but thankfully it did not. We will be sending this to corporate because people like this store manager should not be managers. And these 1 purchase per household for items is ridiculous if they have not way of verifying that those people don't live together. I really hope this is a learning lesson for Tawnie because if anyone did this to her loved ones she would not be happy.

If I hadn't seen their wrapped vehicle at a store parking lot recently, I might never have known they were tucked away inside SOL Plaza. How many thousands of times have I driven past this building without stopping to go inside? If for nothing more than the flavored pickles (including flavor infused pineapple) and their gumbo and shrimp & grits.. you need to park and go inside. It was a surprise to me what they had going on!
