I think this place is pretty neat. The store is absolutely huge in terms of inventory, as they have giant shelves and a lot of isles. The colors threw me off when I walked in as it made a sense of wonder. They seem to have anything you would need for a party! When we were getting the balloons and other supplies we needed, I noticed the staff being very engaging and helping with most everyone in the store. There was someone trying to find a specific item, and couldn't find it anywhere. This party city location didn't have it, but they helped the customer call around to other locations and stores to find the item. It was refreshing to see! read more

Party City would get tons of business if they opened even an hour earlier on weekdays. Most "craft" stores open at 9am. Only opening at 9 on Friday's and 8 on Sunday's isn't helpful to the people who have birthdays and events during the week. Not everyone had "the middle of the day" available. Just something to consider, considering how many bakers, decorators, party planners, would prefer to go to a physical location over giving Amazon the business. This store will make a lot of money should they choose to open at a decent hour in the world. read more

Sure I can find balloons and table cloths at a discount store but nothing beats the selection at Party City. When planning an event or party, this is my go to spot. I love how everything is coordinated by theme and color and type of celebrations. From wall decor to table settings to gifts and even costumes, I find everything I need under one roof. read more

This store is actually Party City I have no idea why it comes up as Party America. I went there for some wrapping paper, and it was much easier than running into walmart. Also, they had a ton of Valentines day stuff! read more

The cashier seemed annoyed we came in..no one helped us to find what we were Looking for and we were followed through out the store by loss prevention. I've been here twice for balloons, and both times the customer service has been absolutely horrible. Besides the nice young man who greeted us when we got there, everything else was horrible. The first time, the worker kept looking at me and giving me dirty looks and even other customers commented on it, and then the customer actually complained to the manager on my behalf. The second time, a girl named Sara was helping and was absolutely rude and any question I'd ask she replied with an attitude and one word answers, which ended up not helping at all. After, she just walked away and that was my que that the transaction was over. Good customer service is not hard to attain but Party City doesn't seem to be too big on the customer experience aspect of their company. read more

I usually only come here when I absolutely have to!! And that mainly to bring my kids to pick out some candy. Which I also my favorite part of the store! Other than that, a lot of their stuff is over priced. And the customer service sucks!! I had asked where something was and the lady had told me the wrong place. I only knew cuz I was looking for a particular type of candy for a carnival party I was having, and she had sent me all the by the wrapping paper and cards. After about 10 mins I found it myself in the candy area. I purchased balloons for my job last week and of course, I lost the receipt. Gatanya was very professional and willing to go the extra mile to ensure I found my receipt. I'm waiting while I she's currently looking for the receipt, but regardless if she finds it or not, I'm grateful for her! I remember being a retail manager and the pain of finding a customers receipt is annoying as ever, but she's doing it with a smile and not making me feel bad ( even though I should ). Ridiculously slow service. I came right when they opened. There were four employees working and it took 15 minutes for them to blow up six balloons. What a joke. I came here because it was convenient but I might as well have driven to the nearest Dollar Tree because I would've been there and back by the time I finished checking out at Party City. Oh, and I would've saved a few extra bucks since they charge a dollar more than the Dollar Tree. Tip Make sure to check your arrangement before leaving the store. If it were possible to leave a zero star review I would. Not only was the service terrible when I came in that I actually left without buying anything when I called back to speak with a manager she actually said she did not care about my concerns. Yikes! In the store the process is very confusing. The cashiers would rather text on their phones and chat with each other than help you out so no wonder the lines are astronomically long. Do not try to just make a quick stop for balloons. You have to wait in two separate lines, pay come back, who knows?!? And most irritatingly, while I stood in line and waited, a friend of one of the cashiers came bustling up, grabbed some balloons, tossed them on the counter and left with them inflated moments later. So, it obviously can happen that fast. When I tried to point out to the cashier that I still had not been waited on, she offered no apology and informed me that there is no manager available on the weekends. So I get there super early right when they open , so I can get 6 balloons tops. The guy sees me wondering looking and choosing balloons. All for them to tell me I have to wait 25 minutes because they are backed up on orders. You could told me that before when I was looking at the balloons . Not much to say about the customer service... Since it's evident how most experiences went... I was sad the 36 balloons I wanted cost OVER $40!!! And I could NOT place an order in advance (not an issue because I'm sure it's some sort of store policy) but why do I have to WAIT so long for my balloons? I THOUGHT I was saving money by just getting them & running out the door, instead of buying my own & some $20 tank for walmart but I guess not! I'll save the money next time & get my own tank! Beware if you are a person of color. I will never visit this Party City location ever again. The moment my daughters and I walked in the store we were followed by the tall African American store manager/supervisor. It was embarrassing. He made it seem like he was a customer shopping. Horrible horrible horrible costumer service went there today to get party supplies for my husband birthday and right when I walk inn an employee walks out giving me dirty looks ....next then I asked another employee for the superman party supplies and she just gives me a dirty look while walking talking with another employee talking about guys ??? and shoving my stuff in a bag like she was mad ??? Awful. Awful. Awful. Customer service is lacking tremendously. We have spent tons of money in this store in the past and this particular trip was spent filling up balloons and some additional items. While we waited, we came across some candies and when we went to purchase them, the clerk "Sara" would not accept the $5 bill because it was torn on the top of the bill. She looked right at my friend and said in a flat extremely rude tone "I can't take that". When she asked why not, it's money, she just replied "I can't take that" again in her same snotty tone. She did not explain why she could not take them, such as a store policy about torn bills. She then walked over to the balloons and stuck her hand out shoving the balloons at me. I have NEVER been so offended after spending my own money in a store that frankly, I work very hard for. The bill was not torn in half, just slightly torn on the top. My bank took the bill today, it's money, so their bank would take it too. In the car on the way home I phoned the store asking for the store manager. The girl who answered said that he was not there today (on a Saturday). She did not offer me an assistant manager, or even the next in command. I then asked, ok who is in charge today? She gave me the name, which I asked to speak with, I was put on hold for a few minutes, and when she came back I was told that she/he was on her lunch break and that I could leave my name and number or wait 30 min and call back when they come back. I said never mind, and asked for the corporate office's phone number and she told me, "I don't know it'". I think more money and time should be spent on training staff on customer service and less on their communication via walkie talkie. If one of my employees would have spoken to a customer the way she spoke to us she would have been written up or fired. I'm sorry you are unhappy working at a party store for minimum wage but your job IS customer service just like mine. Every day we get up and do our job. If you are unhappy, leave, but don't take it out on the people that fund your employment, it is biting the hand that feeds you. read more

Ridiculously long line and 2 workers walking around and not opening up a new register. Went back the next day and it was very slow again. The employees are not in a hurry to help at the Lancaster store. The employees at the Palmdale location were very helpful. Will definitely go there instead. read more

Horrible customer service!!! Rude ugly employees! I placed a balloon order 1 week before and when they handed me the balloons,they had messed up my order. The girl behind cash register was nice But the Girl that was behind the balloon counter was so rude not only to me but to the customer in front of me as well. She gave me a very dirty look as I handed her the CORRECT colors of balloons I needed. I couldn't believe I was being treated in that way! As I was waiting the manager came out to "help" another customer and he was also acting rude and nasty to the customer! I will NEVER go back to this place again! I am hoping I have the correct store in Lancaster...at Valley Central (44600 on the receipt). I received perfect service in my last minute hunt for minecraft party items from Veronica or Victoria and I am sorry I cannot remember which name it was. I described the type of bubbles I was looking for and had really checked well, I thought, for them before asking for help. She got a ladder and said before she even got up that she thought she spotted them...she was right! Made my day! Then asking if I needed anything else, I mentioned the minecraft theme and she stated they had just gotten new items that had not been set out yet. She went and got me EXACTLY what I needed, the party favors, lots in a package for 8 guests. I was so delighted, hitting the jackpot for this party for my grandson!
