Came by on a weekday dinner with a friend and we were seated immediately. There were a few tables with diners, but staff was attentive and checked in on us often. Not a long wait between ordering and getting your food. It can be a bit pricey at $40 a person, but the quality in food made up for it. Plenty of parking in an outlet mall area, clean, and with a decent waiting area. I don't remember music playing, but there was enough background noise to have a conversation with the person in front of you comfortably. Lights were a bit dim to give a cozier vibe. The tuna sashimi tastes fresh and had a nutty flavor to it. Fried foods were served hot. Servings were not overwhelming. There's plenty to order, and there's no way you could try one of each - so many options! Would love to come back to try more.

The sashimi alone was worth the price of admission. Beautiful thick cuts of fresh fish served on ice (very nice touch btw). They also I had many options on the menu besides sushi. They had fried rice, stir fried udon, teriyaki, fried wings, cream cheese wontons, fried calamari, even mozzarella sticks. These items were all very good. The rolls and the little special sashimi platters were disappointing, which a majority of our party agreed on. The nigiri, sashimi and appetizers are enough to go back for.

I used don't like AYCE sushi because usually the stores served low grade sashimi and service were always hit and miss. But Sake lifted up the standard. The sashimi are fresh and the food was served quick and with nice presentation. They have a wide variety to pick from hot dishes to sushi rolls to sashimi. Everything is delicious. Server always pay attention to what we need. And at the end we were also offered for ice cream. Will definitely go back with friends and family.

Sake is a new AYCE sushi spot in Napa and it's really amazing! I have quite low standards for AYCE sushi, but Sake really raises the bar. Each person is allowed to order 2 items from each section which is quite generous! The servers were kind. They would also clean off our table often. The only hard part was trying to get the attention of a server to order more rounds. The fish is really good quality for AYCE. The rice to fish ratio is great. And their food is just overall yummy! My absolute favorites were the seared salmon and salmon belly nigiri. They were amazing! My least favorite was the pepper fin. I'm not sure if they made a mistake but instead of ponzu like the menu states, we got unagi sauce on ours. So it wasn't our fave due to the overwhelming amount of sauce on it.

My faves seared tuna, salmon , white tuna, hamachi, tuna

Great AYCE sushi. One thing to note is you pre-order e.g how many slices of fish or Nigir for Sashimi. I tend to order by two of each i wanted to try and you can order again. My husband and took a slow approach of ordering some salad and appetizers and one roll(8 pieces). 2nd time a few more different Sashimi, hamachi kama(1 order per person so not unlimited) and 1 roll. 3rd order same but with soft shell crab. You dont want to waste as they will charge you but also why waste food as my nanay would remind me. 90mins is a time limit so no super slow eating . Worth the price as you get a lot and different choices. A big group allows you to try different rolls but with just two of us we kept it to two rolls while ordering a lot of Sashimi and nigiris. Sashimi was fresh. The rolls and selections were extensive. Has some different from the pinole location like salmon skin salad, seared tuna Sashimi, green tea ice cream, Hamachi kama (don't remember if pinole has this one). Salmon Skin Salad. Yummy slightly sweet dressing. Sashimi was great my faves were the seared tuna, white tuna, and salmon but everything was fresh nicely sliced into bite size. Hamachi kama was perfectly grilled just on a small size for 1 order My hubby and ai had 2 bites each. We didn't order the 2nd one just too much work lol. But the sauce was great we kept dipping our sashimi in it. This location has green tea ice cream served in cute little cups with wooden spoon like elementary school days lol..it was very frozen so waited a few minutes to let it thaw. Service was great they cleared plates and took our orders promptly. There was no wait when we went Sunday around 7:30pm.

Found a great AYCE sushi place in a Napa strip mall. Service was quick and we were checked on repeatedly for beverage service and made to order items from the menu. Everything is included with no uncharges. There are a good amount of rolls to choose from, appetizer assortment, nigiri with not too much rice, hand rolls, and sashimi. The portions are small so you can sample or specify how many you want of each. Fish tasted fresh. We finished our meal with green tea ice cream.

Food here was actually really good. Except that the salmon was mushy. Service nice and fast so as the waiting time. Ill be coming back. $40/person weekends and nights.

Tbh, I didn't expect much from this restaurant, but it ended up being outstanding. My favorite was definitely the spicy garlic edamame. Their sushi rolls are pretty simple, but I actually liked that they're bite-sized, which makes them really easy to eat. The staff were friendly, and the ambiance was nice, clean, and comfortable. The only thing I think they could improve is the wasabi. I don't expect real wasabi, but I'd at least like it to have some spice and a little more kick.

This is such a great addition to Napa. There isn't any AYCE sushi places close by unless you go to Fairfield or Vacaville or Concord so this is perfect for us American Canyon/Napa folks. The sashimi and the nigiri is so fresh and buttery. I love how the presentation of the sashimi is on par with higher end sushi establishments. That special touch does not go unnoticed. They also have way more selection than other AYCE sushi spots such as fried rice, short ribs, teriyaki, and they also have an extensive appetizer and salad menu. The service is great, the food comes out quick and you get ice cream for dessert! I feel the price is worth it and I've gone here 4 times since they opened. The wait is not usually more than 15 minutes but I try to go at off times to beat the rush. I highly recommend if you have a big appetite but a small wallet lol

Came for lunch right when they opened at 11 on a Tuesday. As the first ones there, we had prompt service while their crew was still eating. The food came out quickly. The nigiri was all good. The ambiance isn't amazing as I read this was a former Wendy's. But who needs frills? This is pretty high quality sushi for AYCE. And lunch is only $25. Would definitely come back and try dinner

Japanese AYCE usually have lower quality of food, but not this one. This place allows unlimited orders of fresh sashimi and offers a good variety of cold and cooked dishes. We ordered salmon/yellowtail/tuna sashimi, scallop/seared salmon/tuna/raw shrimp/ikira nigiri, hamachi kama, tuna tartare, yellowtail jalapeño, salmon lover, fried oyster, fried calamari, soft shell crab, tonkatsu, spider roll, salmon avocado roll, and more. Free ice cream as well. Drinks cost extra. Adults $40. Kids have discounts. On Sundays around 6:30pm, the wait was roughly 30 minutes for a party of 6. This place is currently in soft opening phase. Hopefully the quality of the food and the generous selections will sustain.

I saw this place on Yelp and thought I must be misunderstanding what I'm reading. AYCE sashimi and it looks like this ?! I was not mislead. You CAN get bowl after bowl after bowl of fresh sashimi for $40 a person. Coming from Reno (which seems to be the birthplace of AYCE sushi) we always felt we could be ok with the lower quality sushi because it was THE only way to profitably do AYCE. We were wrong! Every piece was just as delicious (or more!) than the last. This seemed to be more of a locals spot than a tourist trap. We recommend going around 5 or 5:30 to avoid the crowd and the wait. We did get one roll. It was tasty. It had a lot less rice than we were used to which my husband loved but I could have added a little more rice. If you're not in to raw food but still want to join your friends then this is feasible here! Lots of udon, teriyaki, katsu, fried rice, and other appetizers. If you're in it for the cooked sushi, this is probably not the place to go. Loved the Takoyaki! So gooey and octopus was not too chewy. My only con was that I couldn't find a changing table.. I didn't know it was legal to not provide one, but honestly for the price and the fish quality it didn't bother me at all to go change the baby in the car and come back to eat more. I'm assuming given it's Napa there are higher end options, but for much higher prices and probably way more formal. Sake is much more of a casual place, which is exactly what we wanted. We will be back!

Ray T.

Great sashimi options and fish quality. I was surprised they had salmon belly and sweet shrimp. Terrible service. I had to flag the waitress down every time I wanted to order. Several items did not come out so i reordered but they still did not come. After requesting the order several times and waiting 45 minutes, we finally received them.

The maki rolls came with 6 rolls, with the sushi being 1 pc each. The spicy tuna roll was very affordable with fresh high quality fish. I like how the sushi was fairly simple, which amplified the deep flavor of the fish. I also ordered one fatty tuna sashimi, which was melt in your mouth! Miso soup, which had homemade tofu is rich, but the tofu was average. Gyoza was average, more on the dryer side. The salmon taretare was very good, coming with different sauces. I tasted a bit of my coworker's unagi bowl, which came with seaweed to create a roll. I thought the unagi was grilled well, but the marinade on top was too sweet. The sweetness of the sauce overpowered the natural flavor of the eel. A highlight was their dessert lime sago. It was not too sweet and came with ice cream. There were pop rocks sprinkled in that gave a unique texture.

Morimoto Napa: A deeply disappointing dining experience…read more My wife and I recently returned to Napa, one of our favorite places, and decided to try Morimoto while celebrating 40 years since we first met. We ordered the $180-per-person omakase and added the $95 A5 Wagyu supplement for each of us. With drinks, tax, and tip, our final bill was over $800. We were perfectly comfortable spending that kind of money for a special occasion, but unfortunately, the experience was a tremendous disappointment. And to be clear, this isn't about the money. Even if the entire meal had cost $50, I would have been disappointed. The food simply wasn't good. The omakase nigiri was particularly bad. The rice was atrocious, and the preparation of the fish was hardly better. Sushi rice is fundamental to good nigiri, and getting that wrong undermines the entire dish. Several of the other courses were excessively salty, with little of the balance or refinement we expected. The presentation was also surprisingly uninspired. My wife commented on how ordinary everything looked, especially for an omakase experience where you would expect some thought and craftsmanship in how each course is presented. Then there was the A5 Wagyu. Before ordering, I asked our waitress about it, and she described it as wonderfully buttery. We've had excellent Wagyu in Japan, so we had a reasonable idea of what to expect. Unfortunately, this wasn't remotely close. The appearance was unappealing, the flavor disappointing, and the texture lacked the richness and tenderness we were looking forward to. At $95 for a small portion, it was a particularly poor addition to an already underwhelming meal. My wife is Japanese, and we travel to Japan regularly, so we're familiar with excellent sushi and Wagyu. But I wasn't expecting Morimoto to replicate a traditional Japanese restaurant. I knew it was fusion, and I have no problem with that. Good cooking is good cooking, regardless of the style. What I expected was quality, proper technique, balanced flavors, and some genuine attention to detail. Unfortunately, we found very little of that here. The service didn't help matters. When our waitress asked how we enjoyed the nigiri, I told her directly that it was terrible and explained why, particularly the rice. I made clear that I wasn't blaming her personally. She seemed genuinely surprised by the criticism, but there was no apology, no meaningful acknowledgment, and no attempt during that conversation to address our dissatisfaction. She was pleasant enough otherwise, but there's a difference between being superficially pleasant and actually caring about a guest's experience. What bothers me most is the disconnect between Morimoto's reputation and what actually arrived at our table. I've had far better food at small, unpretentious restaurants where the people preparing it clearly care about what they're doing. A celebrity chef's name and an impressive bill don't substitute for craftsmanship. We went there to celebrate something meaningful, and instead we spent the evening wondering how a restaurant with this reputation could get so many basic things wrong. Perhaps others have had better experiences, but ours was genuinely awful. I wouldn't return, and I certainly wouldn't recommend the omakase. Not because it was expensive, but because the food wasn't good. The price just made the disappointment that much worse.

From the moment we walked in, the service was truly first-class. Every detail was thoughtful and beautifully executed. They even surprised us with a glass of Cabernet Franc to pair with the A5 Wagyu. The pairing was fantastic--the Wagyu was incredibly tender, literally melting in my mouth, yet surprisingly not greasy or heavy at all. They also paired a sweet dessert wine with the dessert, which was such a nice touch. I'm honestly not a dessert person at all, but their Jasmine Pear completely won me over. I absolutely loved it! Every single course was delicious, beautifully presented, and thoughtfully balanced. The whole experience felt very refined without being stuffy or overly formal. It's the kind of restaurant where you can appreciate not only the food, but also the attention to detail, hospitality, and the entire dining experience. The ambience of the restaurant can only be described as sterile. The food was lacking flavor at every turn EXCEPT for the waygu. Almost all of the bites lacked flavor and if there was flavor is was exactly identical to the previous dish - the profile was not diverse.
