Cute gem amongst strip mall suburb. Surprisingly lovely inside. Great lighting and decor. Service was fast, very friendly, and lots of regulars patron to give it a warm neighborhood feel. Highlights: HOT AND SOUR SOUP! So good. Rich flavor without being too spicy Ambiance Service Price point Portions Lowlights: The sushi was fairly bland. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing right either. Just basic. And the rice on the rolls was smooshed, kind of pasty in places. The spicy tuna was bland. If you're looking for a quick bite and are ok with not being wowed, this is a fine spot.

I have tried this place out I believe around times already and the only reason why I've tried it so many times is because it's close to Buckley SFB. It's convenient that it's close by when I'm craving sushi and I do not need to drive far. However, in my honest opinion, I would not recommend their sushi. The workers are nice and attentive. The interior is presentable. Nothing too noteworthy. The fish itself is not bad quality. It's decently cut. It's how the sushi rice is made that really brings down the quality of the sushi dish. The sushi rice is overly soggy and sticky. It does not have a good texture or taste to it. I thought maybe it was just bad prep the first time around but the second time I got sushi it was the same thing. The miso soup was also okay. It was nice and hot and tasted good but the seaweed they had in there was overly chewy and hard to swallow. Another time that I came here I got their Chinese dish, beef broccoli. It tasted good when it was piping hot but as the food started becoming room temperature, you can really start tasting the msg in it. All in all, I would only ever come back for the convenience of it being not too far from my work place but it is definitely not my first, second, or third choice.

Located in a convenient strip mall, Saigon Tokyo serves up some great eats! Great service! Yeah, we were the only ones dining in the whole time, but they really took the extra time to make us feel special and well looked after. Crab Cheese Wontons. A great starter filled with the goods and not extremely crunchy, like some, that tear up your mouth. I live for a good bento box and this had it all. And would you just look at the rice! Very thoughtful and a huge portion for cheap.

Every few weekends, my husband and I decide to have ourselves a little Aurora day date. It usually involves a restaurant and a brewery. Craving sushi, we browsed our options and chose Saigon Tokyo for our lunch date. BITES: We started with an order of cheese wontons. We chose four rolls to split, including: Philadelphia, spicy crab, rainbow, and Jenny. While the rolls were good and everything tasted fresh; they weren't anything particularly memorable. Serving it up on a mini boat was a nice touch. BEVVIES: Knowing that we were heading over to a nearby brewery after our meal, we decided to sip on a couple Sapporo's with our sushi. SPACE: Inside was very modern. I liked the lantern/umbrella decor. Nothing super special about the interior. SERVICE: This was probably the biggest drawback to our experience. Service was very awkward and ridiculously slow. There were three tables including us during our visit. The two girls working never checked back with us to see if we needed anything additional. When they brought out checks for us and the table next to us, they didn't bring a pen for them. Luckily, they weren't shy about asking to use ours. While Saigon Tokyo was alright, I have other sushi restaurants in the area that I'll gladly make my way back to before returning here.

Good food and good prices. The people that work here are very friendly and are very efficient. I ordered the hot and sour soup as an appetizer, which was good but much spicier than most other places I have tried it. My main dish was the General Tao's Chicken with a side of white rice. It was very flavorful and definitely would order this dish again. We got our food relatively quick and it was prepared fresh. There is plenty of free parking available as well. Would recommend checking this place out if you like sushi and/or asian cuisine.

Recently had an opportunity to stop in for dinner at Saigon Tokyo. It was early so it was quiet at the restaurant which is welcome to us. We ordered 4 different rolls and enjoyed them, was surprised that we got a sushi boat as we don't see that often and was a delightful experience. Overall not the freshest sushi around but not the worst either, we will be back!

Sushi on a boat? Say less! Fun, first time boat, experience! 2nd time eating from this location. The sushi was good! The Spider roll is our favorite. We tried a few new things we've never had before. The staff were nice. Nice, cozy and calm atmosphere for a Thursday night. This place also has good quality take-out as well! We would totally come back.

We were seated fairly quick and was given water cups fast. We got a quick rundown of the menu, however we did have a newer server. The gyoza are on the other hand was absolutely perfect and needed no additional sauce except the one that came on it. When the black garlic Ramen came to the table, it had a slight flavor, but I would say it was pretty plain. We ended up asking for some of the sauce that was on the Gyoza for the soup base. When we added that to the soup base, it became 1000 times better. The noodles were cooked fairly well, but I would just say the broth needed a bit more flavor. Overall, it was a nice spot and we may be back to try other things.

So there's plenty of parking you just might have to walk a little further to get to the door. We were greeted and seated immediately. We placed our drink orders and then we were off to the buffet. They also had a Mongolian Grill where you could create your own! And they had a couple rolls of sushi out for grabs. The flavor of the foods with nothing out of the ordinary, pretty standard and tasted normal. So I think for the variety of options you get and the price that you pay is worth it. I didn't get to try the Mongolian Grill, but I definitely wanna go back and give it a shot. They also had a soft served ice cream, machine, and a chocolate fondue station. Here is what we got: 1. Veggie Tempura: good assortment, however very small. 2. Gyoza: due to travel time it may have been less crispy, but it was good flavor. 3. Crispy Rice: the crispy rice was good, but almost stale like, so it was a bit texturally different. Sashimi: 1. King Salmon: it was good but disliked the wasabi on top. 2.
