S9: Mi Dac Biet (seafood soup)
Ryan S.

I got the S9: Mi Dac Biet (seafood soup), which was pretty good (4/5)! There was a lot of seafood and pork in it, and it was a pretty large portion, especially for the price. Service was ok (3/5). The interior of the restaurant is simply decorated but nice, and it is quiet inside (4/5).

Tried a new place and it did not disappoint! Felt like homemade food with great variety. We had the beef soup yellow noodles, seafood rice noodles, pho and rice dishes. They all tasted great with good portion, definitely full after. Also tried summer rolls, could be better with mint or green onion added in. The drinks tasted great! Friendly waitress who took orders and gave good recommendations. Place is clean and spacious. Overall, everything went well and we'd be back again!

As is often the case, now I have a new favorite. Their Grilled Chicken and Pork Banh Mi are delicious and full of flavor. The taste never wavers or changes. The meats are tender and well seasoned. I always just try to remove most if not all the seeds from the jalapeño. It pairs well with the Taro boba drink. It's always good coming to this place knowing they know you as well. Christine is always a good hostess.

Authentic Viet spots are being discovered in NJ and Saigon is a good example. While the grilled pork chop doesn't have the same marinade and flavor as other places, it's still good. At Saigon you'll find a diverse menu of soups and noodles, something the city doesn't have an abundance of. Bun Bo Hue is spicier than I'm used to and wish there was just a tad more flavor and salt but Saigon is a solid spot.

100% my go to spot in this town. Favorites include the beef or chicken pho, bun reiu, bun bo hue, bo kho, summer rolls and spring rolls. I especially love the bun reiu with the tomato base and pork meatballs and the funkiness of the shrimp paste. Bo kho is legit with the beef tendon, super tender and you can tell it's been braised cus it's soft and melts in your mouth, it can be very sweet though. This gets a 4 and not a 5 only because I have had better Vietnamese food but this place deserves a lot of respect for bringing and preserving much of its culture in a prominently non Asian community. I've never eaten physically there; take out only and the lady is always so sweet. She is always dressed well in traditional Vietnamese outfits and I love it! She is fierce! Super easy chill viet spot, not fancy.

We went for lunch here on a weekday. Expecting that will be treated to an authentic Vietnamese food. I was wrong! The pork chop was not marinated properly. The fried rolls were bland and so as the shrimp on rice paper, rolled. They cater to American taste, so sad to say. The place is well lighted and serving staff are friendly and helpful.

A MUST TRY!!! My mom used to come here YEARS ago since she used to work in this area however she recently reintroduced Saigon to us maybe a year and a half ago. BEST DECISION EVER!!! Shoutout to my mom for hooking it up with this rec because I find myself always craving this place - NO LIE! The restaurant is quite cute, if you do try this place out please don't expect it to be super modern fyi. The customer service here is always A1, I've sat down here to eat and have gotten takeout plenty of times and the quality of the food is always really good! Let's get to the food shall we :) My go to order consists of getting the spring rolls with peanut sauce or the fresh spring rolls (A3) as an appetizer. For my main dish I nearly always get the Angel hair noodles with chicken (L10), there's always a good amount of chicken with a perfect amount of noodles. My sister always orders the Combo fried rice with shrimp, chicken and beef (L2) and she really likes it due to the amount of meat you get and she is always satisfied with this dish. I've also tried the Seafood noodle soup recently and it's absolutely exceptional when you're looking to have soup! I've been here countless of times and would most certainly recommend this place to those in the area or looking to try Vietnamese food for the first time! This place deserves a 1000/5 rating! You know I'll be here next week probably LOL

Hey hey Adventurers! I came here for pho during my lunch. I found that the phone they offered was more of a ramen like soup? This is not the pho I'm normally used to unfortunately, the broth was bland and the noodles just weren't cooked well. We also tried the spring rolls and found that while they were freshly made I was not a fan of the overall experience by going here. I would not recommend this place as somewhere to get fresh pho.

I came here with my daughter for dinner and the staff here was super friendly, patient and helpful. Pho: My daughter loved this and she said that it had enough flavor. It was cooked to perfection and she will get this again. Com Bo Luc Lac: This needs a little more flavor to it but the beef cubes were cooked very well. Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong: This was a very unique dish and the egg rolls had flavor. The rice noodles needed a little more flavor to them. Bi Cuon: The shredded pork tasted a bit dry inside of the rice paper. When you eat it with the peanut sauce it tastes fantastic but seems to be missing some sort of flavor/texture to it. Cha Gio: The spring rolls here tasted very good. Overall: I think I might come back to this restaurant to try their pho since I did not get a chance to try it this time.

Small hole in the wall location in a strip mall. Saw good reviews and came on a particularly cloudy day craving some pho. Came with a party of 4 and seating was available immediately. Quick and friendly service. We ordered 4 orders of pho and 2 orders of spring rolls and drinks. S2. Pho - The broth was noticeably sweeter than we were used to. I recommend adding the lime juice they provide to cut down on the sweetness and add a splash of citrus. The beef in the soup was great and noodles were the perfect texture. Overall was good. Just a tad too sweet. A2. Spring rolls - The spring rolls were large and sliced in half. Ingredients inside was fresh. I recommend dipping it in the peanut sauce and try it with some of the chili oil. Thai Tea Bubble Tea - The thai tea was delicious. The sweet and cold drink was a lifesaver while eating the hot pho. The boba inside was not the greatest quality and too chewy. Maybe the boba was over cooked. Iced Coffee with condensed milk - Coffee was good, condensed milk added that creaminess and sweetness. If you haven't tried Vietnamese coffee I highly recommend you try this one. Overall- Service was fast and friendly and food was good. I was surprised at the prices as they are lower than other places I have been to. Would come again for a bowl of noodles if I'm in the area.

Our waitress took our order without writing anything down, and that carelessness quickly showed. We specifically asked for the bean sprouts to be cooked because we were dining with a toddler, but that request was forgotten. We also ordered a smoothie that never arrived. At first we let it go, assuming that if it never came out, it probably wouldn't appear on the bill. Unfortunately, it did, so we had to ask for it to be removed. The billing correction was then handled in a confusing way. We were given two separate receipts: one showing the full amount with a 3% credit card fee added, and another showing the smoothie being deducted as a separate transaction. It wasn't immediately clear how the two receipts were meant to be read together, especially since one of the totals appeared higher than the original bill. To be clear, the 3% charge itself wasn't really the issue. The problem was that while correcting their own mistake, no one took a moment to explain what was happening or offer even a simple apology for the confusion - or for the missed order, for that matter. That was really the theme of the entire experience: forgetfulness, confusion, and a complete lack of acknowledgment. No one said "sorry for the confusion," no one said "that was our mistake," and when we left, no one acknowledged us or thanked us for coming. Mistakes happen. But a little attentiveness and basic courtesy go a long way. Here, though, there was no real effort to *smoothie* things over .
