We went for a late dinner on a Friday night around 9:45 pm. The atmosphere was pleasant, with soft music playing in the background. However, the staff seemed rushed and pressured us to place our order quickly. As a result, we couldn't explore the menu much and ended up ordering the Mysore Masala Dosai and Mini Tiffin--both of which were excellent and well worth the price. The pricing is slightly higher than other Indian restaurants, but the quality justifies it. That said, the service felt hurried. We were asked to pay even before we finished eating. It might help if the restaurant adjusted staff shift times or revised the posted closing time to avoid making customers feel rushed. I recommend visiting at least two hours before closing--around 8:30 pm--to enjoy the meal without feeling pressured.

Tried veg thali , onion rava masala dosa and falooda.. food and service were great. I wish they reduce jellies in falooda.

I have fond memories of visiting A2B in South Delhi's Green Park and enjoying appam - as well as randomly the best pistachio milkshake of my life - on a cold winter evening. There are a few imposter A2B stores in Manhattan, but to my knowledge the only branches actually affiliated with the Indian chain are in New Jersey. Everything was excellent. Our favorites were the Andhra items - the Andhra style paneer was mind-blowing, and the special Andhra thali available only on weekends had some excellent sabzis, in addition to being served with ghee, podi and tangy homemade achaar. We also tried the keerai vada, which is similar to Maharashtran kothimbhir vadi in flavor and was well-received, and my all-time favorite thatte idli, which had a generous layer of podi and ghee. Ironically, the dosa, which attracts many people to A2B, was probably the least exciting part of the meal, but perfectly serviceable.

Last weekend I visited this restaurant and I must say it's a great place that offers delicious South Indian food. I stopped by for breakfast and really impressed by the quality of food and service was even better. The menu had a great variety, and being a core South Indian cuisine fan I found the food very delicious. The feast: Medhu vadai (Serves with sambhar and 2 chutney)- 10/10 Ghee Podi Idli - 9/10 Onion Rava Dosai - 8/10 Mysore Masala dosa - 9/10 (was told to make extra spicy and it was prepared exactly as specified) Rasam - 10/10 (This was super hit. I craved for a good rasam in the US and the search ends here) Overall - 10/10 If you are looking for a place with reliable good food (specially South Indian) and a nice ambience, I highly recommend A2B. P.s: It is almost full always hence plan your visit accordingly. They also have a ample parking space for the convenience.

South Plainfield location in central jersey always delivers good food consistently. We usually get the potato masala dosa- which is the mildest one next to the plain dosa. Crisp dosa and well seasoned potatoes and the chutneys are slightly sweet coconut chutney and another saltier /savory chutney . It also comes with lentil soup which pairs beautifully with the whole meal. We've had the mango lassi with is tart and rich - just perfect. I usually order a glass of ice to make it runnier which might be seen as a sacrilege but lassis in general are super thick for me! Posted pics are our to-go meals and not dine-in. Private lot that's shared with Red Robbin.

Great place for a variety of authentic vegetarian South Indian food. They have everything from idlis to thalis. We ordered the chili baby corn fries, masala dosa, mysore masala dosa and tofu curry. All the dishes were excellent and the food came out very fast.

Love that this place is all vegetarian and always has parking available. I could come here for the Paneer Tikka alone. Perfectly marinated with just the right amount of char. Gobi 65 is great too, with a slight crisp to them. They also sell snacks and desserts to go. Great fast service and reasonable prices make a great combo. The waiters are constantly cruising the floor tending to all the tables so you never have to wait to find and flag one individual.

My new dosa favorite after Saravanna bhavan! Dosa is a thin and sometimes extremely crispy crepe with rice and or lentil. We ordered appetizers such as mini idli with sambar and banana flower fritters. Kids ordered plain crispy dosa and cheese dosa while I went for the quintessential Mysore masala dosa with potato filling. The sambar or lentil soup accompaniment was just right consistency , not spicy at all so kids could eat. The chutneys were probably the only weakness and slightly bland compared to saravana bhavan. Overall very attentive staff, clean and welcoming ambiance. Place can go extremely crowded especially during weekends where they run out of tables so avoid the peak times. Most people prefer the huge big thali which is almost a sampler of various dishes arranged in a circular manner, small portions on a plate which can get very filling. My only disappointment was that they didn't have desserts in the store counter like before!

I'm writing this review for both the South Plainfield and Princeton locations as they just mirror each other and there is no concern that I could even think of. I've been here enough number of times than any other restaurant I've been to, in NJ or even in the US and that makes me bonafide e to write this review. If you are in the state of Tamilnadu in India, you will know that this restaurant is the Mecca of South Indian vegetarian restaurants and people will swear by it, for its taste and quality. There are also other restaurants in NJ that are run as franchise of some famous south Indian restaurants, but the A2B is unlike others. These two do not disappoint a bit and stay true the brand's authenticity. The taste and quality are exceptional and the staff are kind and pleasant. The wait times to get in and to get the ordered food on table are sometimes excruciating on Fridays and weekends, but that's given when a restaurant is exceptionally good.

We're still looking around for our go-to Indian restaurant in the area as our kids love saag/palak paneer and we used to go at least once a month where we moved from. But we finally made it! We came here on a Monday that also fell on a holiday so they had a steady amount of customers. We were the only non-Indian customers, which appears to be normal. They're located in a small strip along with 2 or 3 other businesses. Shared parking is behind the building so most people entered through the back door. It was about half full when we got there so I can see it filling up fast during crowded times. Walk through because no one is at the back but there is a small clothing rack to hang coats; the counter is at the front by the front door. We made ourselves known and were promptly seated. They serve vegetarian food and many are Swaminarayan-friendly (allium-free, which appears to be their default mode), certain can be made Jain as well! They do use alliums but overall, they seem to be able to make most of the dishes without alliums. We ordered the following, Swaminarayan-style and mild because one of my kids can do but mild food: DAHI PURI: I usually get pani puri but decided to try it out since it's been a while since I had this. It came out first as the appetizer, was a thing of beauty, and there are A LOT of flavors in there. The sweet-leaning yogurt, sev with its textural differences, the freshness of the cilantro, the spiced potatoes, the tart pomegranate seeds... My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it. PALAK PANEER: This was ordered for my kids. Green gravy with tender paneer. They liked it! The curry got a little too spicy but it didn't hit them until later. My kid with the food allergies ate all the paneer when the gravy grew too spicy for him. MALAI KOFTA: This is different from the malai kofta I've had before but not in a bad way. I definitely think they use cashew "cream" in this. It's lightly sweet in a way that reminds me of cashews. The kofta are soft and I'm pretty sure are paneer based. This is probably the most mild curry we ordered, both in terms of spice and spices. This was my pick because I usually can't order malai kofta at Indian restaurants so I was pleased I could hear. MATAR METHI MALAI: I love how Indian curries are so straightforward when it comes to names. I'm not sure what to expect with this but my husband didn't know what to get so I nudged him towards this. He wanted MATAR PANEER but it's not on the menu. This is essentially fenugreek pea curry in a milky gravy. It has very interesting spices and flavor. A little more bland than the others, yet not at the same time. Must be that fenugreek! For some odd reason, it reminded me of coconut chutney I've had before. We also got ROTI for one of my kids who prefers bread over rice. All curries come with white basmati. For drinks, we got MANGO LASSI, SPRITE, and CHAAS (buttermilk). The buttermilk was different! Much more spiced than I expected. I also swear at one point I tasted a raw onion bit but it only happened once so who knows if it was mistaken blended in or it was all in my head. I do remember it was STRONG though. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised at the sheer amount of choices we had. Our bill totaled to around $90 (curries are around $20, Dahi puri was $12) and we brought home some leftovers. They seem to be family run and are fairly nice and helpful. We would likely go back again to try more things, but the palak paneer isn't completely up our kids' alley to become their favorite. If you have food allergies, let them know. My youngest has multiple food allergies including to nuts and wheat. Most of their curries contains nuts EXCEPT for the palak paneer and their bhindi (okra) dish. Luckily for my kid. Despite how nuts are a common ingredient in the kitchen, my kid was completely fine during and after eating. Note: their menu says they charge gratuity for parties of 4 people or more. My husband says he didn't see it on the bill when it was time to pay. Not sure if that statement is now outdated or it only counts if there are 4+ ADULTS.

4-Star Review - Delhi Garden, NJ…read more Tried Delhi Garden recently on a friend's recommendation. It's a bit out of the way from the central Edison area, but worth a visit every now and then. I saw some solid reviews online and decided to check it out. Service was good . Atmosphere not that great . Overall, I was leaning toward a 3-star rating, but a few standout dishes pushed it to a 4. The aloo cutlet with chole was the star of the show--super authentic and flavorful. The paneer tikka and paneer masala also hit the mark taste-wise, though I wish they had packed a bit more spice. The paneer tandoor came in a generous portion, but again, it could've used more flavor. The biryani was just average. One common theme--everything was low on spice, and the small container of spicy sauce they give barely lasted a few bites. It's a takeout-only spot, so no dine-in tables, and the parking area is small but manageable. Price-wise, it felt fair for the portion sizes. Not perfect, but worth trying if you're in the mood for North Indian flavors and don't mind customizing the spice at home!

I had to look up quite a few of the descriptions for the different fillings. We opted to get the Masala with potatoes, onions, and carrots. The presentation had me so intrigued. Dosas are made of rice. Just eat with your hands and dip away. My favorite was the coconut one. It was so delicious. With every bite I kept saying, OMG, I LOVEEEE IT!!! YUM!!! We also ordered the Medu Vada, a savory South Indian fried doughnut made with black lentils served with chutney and sambhar. Crispy exterior and soft inside. I also enjoyed the filter coffee and badam milk, which I love hot but almost always find offered only cold. The Indo-Chinese items such as the paneer manchurian (dry) were also not bad. That being said, I was very disappointed with the thatte idli, which ironically was what I was most excited to order. They offer with a variety of different podi toppings, but the one we ordered had a strange aftertaste. I'm not sure if it was from the ghee or the podi, but we didn't finish the order.
