Vegetable Hakka Noodles & Chili Paneer Dry
    Sanika K.

Mithaas never disappoints!! Food is always so delicious We came to celebrate a close family friend's birthday and ordered the following: -Chole bhature: The bhature were really fluffy and paired well with the aromatic flavors and spiciness of the chole. -Grilled Panini Sandwhich: -Vegetable Hakka noodles: noodles here are always a all-time fav -Chili Paneer (Dry): paneer was cooked so well and the whole dish was spicy -Mithaas Special Thali: it was a lot for one person but every single item in the thali were perfect! Only thing I didn't like how some of the utensils were dirty and place could be renovated a bit to make it look more classy. Still gave it 5 stars because of the delicious food for the night Will always recommend this place! Must try if you're in the Piscataway area or near Rutgers! Ordered: July 28, 2022 via Dining-In

Service and space are just so terrible that it outweighs the mediocre yet decent food that they serve. The floors literally so sticky you shoe literally peels off with each step. We came within an hour of closing time and already the staff were flipping chairs up and slathering the floor w/ Lysol - I understand this is fast food but please maintain some decorum! I had the gobi Manchurian and schezwan rice which were pretty OK - good portion size, not too spicy and tasty enough. My fiancé had the dosa which wasn't even really warm - in fact the potato bhaji on the side was COLD in the center! Insane !!!! Not to mention the sambar was more like gujarati sweet daal than sambar - terrible. Aloo Gobi was decently made according to my dad. We wanted a speedy dinner so it worked but otherwise really not worth coming to this establishment.

Mithaas has the best comfort food for us in this area. The service is quick. They have variety of Indian street food and platters from various states from India. My favorites are their Pav Bhaji, Mithaas Special Sandwich , Chhole Bhature and their multi Indian state platters. It is a casual dining , friendly staff. Shweta at the reception is very courteous and ensure that we are served well. Service : 4 stars Ambience : 3 stars Food : Very

    Masala Fries and Paneer Kulcha

I have heard mixed reviews about this restaurant and wanted to try it myself. I ordered the masala fries and paneer kulcha. I also ordered several other dishes through GrubHub, but they canceled it without notifying me, which was extremely unprofessional. The masala fries were below average. It was seasoned curly fries with a dipping sauce. Although it's listed as "masala" fries, there wasn't any flavor. However, the dipping sauce was thick, creamy, and spicy. The paneer kulcha was about satisfactory. There were bits of paneer with chaat masala, but nothing extraordinary for the price you pay. This restaurant is overrated with terrible customer service. After arriving at the restaurant to pick up my order, I was notified that they canceled more than half of my order because they ran out of an ingredient. I asked to replace the ingredient with something else, but I was rudely denied.

Not sure why there isn't more stars for this place. The food is great! This place is a mix of fast casual/dine-in Indian restaurant. When you walk in, you order at the counter and then you can seat yourself wherever you prefer and the worker at the counter will give you a table number to take with you. The food is delivered to you by the staff once it's ready, and I have to say the time from ordering to food delivery was pretty quick! We had gone on Mother's Day weekend so it was pretty busy inside. We did make a reservation in advance, but it still took about 15 minutes before a table had opened up so we could sit down. Seeing how busy it was the day we went (and since it's one of the better known Indian restaurants in the area), I think the establishment would benefit with more than one person handling the counter. There is just one register and person taking orders and ringing people out, all the while taking phone calls. At the counter we had ordered a whole host of items including the Mother's Day special taali! Everything we ate was delicious! Hakka noodles, manchurian, the papdi chaat, a carrot noodle dish, paneer, etc. (we went a little overboard and ordered probably 8 or 9 things for our party of seven =P!) The portions were ample but not overbearing. We had enough food for the table, but nothing left over! Overall the service was good, the only gripe was the wait time prior to finding seating. Otherwise, the staff quickly brought our food out and it was prepared perfectly - not too cold or hot (for the cooked dishes) and the seasonings were right on to make the experience worth the wait. I would recommend this place if you're looking for delicious Indian food, served quickly and able to enjoy it with good company and comfortable ambiance. Enjoy!!

Food: 5/5. It's mainly like cocktail food but everything is delicious and excellently spiced and presented well as well. I've eaten a large portion of the menu (papri chaat, samosa Chaat, samosas, ghobi Manchurian, vegetable manchurian, Pani Puri, Dosa, paneer 65, hakka noodles and a few other things) everything is excellent. Interior/exterior: Loads of parking with a small drive thru for to go orders. Interior is clean and classy. Staff/extra: this place can be extremely busy at times but the staff handle it well but sometimes it feels chaotic. Everyone is nice, not bad. Great place to take non-indian people to try Indian food as well! Highly recommend this place :)

Rasgullas had a hair in it
    Ryt P.

I had bought 60 dollar worth of sweets from this location. One box for Friend's ganesh, another box for friend's new home and third one was for myself some rasgullas. Distributed all the boxes to everywhere, next day opened my rasgullas and found hair. I dont know how the other boxes were, but can only wish they dint had any such issue. There is a reason we went to Mithas and spent so much money out of trust. Well never again.

It's a fast food place. You order st desk and find s table to sit down The nite I visited it was really chaotic. They do deliver the food to your table. You get your plastic utensils from s corner table with napkins and help your self water fountain. I ordered thali Gujarati which was worth the hassle .

We're still looking around for our go-to Indian restaurant in the area as our kids love saag/palak paneer and we used to go at least once a month where we moved from. But we finally made it! We came here on a Monday that also fell on a holiday so they had a steady amount of customers. We were the only non-Indian customers, which appears to be normal. They're located in a small strip along with 2 or 3 other businesses. Shared parking is behind the building so most people entered through the back door. It was about half full when we got there so I can see it filling up fast during crowded times. Walk through because no one is at the back but there is a small clothing rack to hang coats; the counter is at the front by the front door. We made ourselves known and were promptly seated. They serve vegetarian food and many are Swaminarayan-friendly (allium-free, which appears to be their default mode), certain can be made Jain as well! They do use alliums but overall, they seem to be able to make most of the dishes without alliums. We ordered the following, Swaminarayan-style and mild because one of my kids can do but mild food: DAHI PURI: I usually get pani puri but decided to try it out since it's been a while since I had this. It came out first as the appetizer, was a thing of beauty, and there are A LOT of flavors in there. The sweet-leaning yogurt, sev with its textural differences, the freshness of the cilantro, the spiced potatoes, the tart pomegranate seeds... My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it. PALAK PANEER: This was ordered for my kids. Green gravy with tender paneer. They liked it! The curry got a little too spicy but it didn't hit them until later. My kid with the food allergies ate all the paneer when the gravy grew too spicy for him. MALAI KOFTA: This is different from the malai kofta I've had before but not in a bad way. I definitely think they use cashew "cream" in this. It's lightly sweet in a way that reminds me of cashews. The kofta are soft and I'm pretty sure are paneer based. This is probably the most mild curry we ordered, both in terms of spice and spices. This was my pick because I usually can't order malai kofta at Indian restaurants so I was pleased I could hear. MATAR METHI MALAI: I love how Indian curries are so straightforward when it comes to names. I'm not sure what to expect with this but my husband didn't know what to get so I nudged him towards this. He wanted MATAR PANEER but it's not on the menu. This is essentially fenugreek pea curry in a milky gravy. It has very interesting spices and flavor. A little more bland than the others, yet not at the same time. Must be that fenugreek! For some odd reason, it reminded me of coconut chutney I've had before. We also got ROTI for one of my kids who prefers bread over rice. All curries come with white basmati. For drinks, we got MANGO LASSI, SPRITE, and CHAAS (buttermilk). The buttermilk was different! Much more spiced than I expected. I also swear at one point I tasted a raw onion bit but it only happened once so who knows if it was mistaken blended in or it was all in my head. I do remember it was STRONG though. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised at the sheer amount of choices we had. Our bill totaled to around $90 (curries are around $20, Dahi puri was $12) and we brought home some leftovers. They seem to be family run and are fairly nice and helpful. We would likely go back again to try more things, but the palak paneer isn't completely up our kids' alley to become their favorite. If you have food allergies, let them know. My youngest has multiple food allergies including to nuts and wheat. Most of their curries contains nuts EXCEPT for the palak paneer and their bhindi (okra) dish. Luckily for my kid. Despite how nuts are a common ingredient in the kitchen, my kid was completely fine during and after eating. Note: their menu says they charge gratuity for parties of 4 people or more. My husband says he didn't see it on the bill when it was time to pay. Not sure if that statement is now outdated or it only counts if there are 4+ ADULTS.

4-Star Review - Delhi Garden, NJ…read more Tried Delhi Garden recently on a friend's recommendation. It's a bit out of the way from the central Edison area, but worth a visit every now and then. I saw some solid reviews online and decided to check it out. Service was good . Atmosphere not that great . Overall, I was leaning toward a 3-star rating, but a few standout dishes pushed it to a 4. The aloo cutlet with chole was the star of the show--super authentic and flavorful. The paneer tikka and paneer masala also hit the mark taste-wise, though I wish they had packed a bit more spice. The paneer tandoor came in a generous portion, but again, it could've used more flavor. The biryani was just average. One common theme--everything was low on spice, and the small container of spicy sauce they give barely lasted a few bites. It's a takeout-only spot, so no dine-in tables, and the parking area is small but manageable. Price-wise, it felt fair for the portion sizes. Not perfect, but worth trying if you're in the mood for North Indian flavors and don't mind customizing the spice at home!

I had to look up quite a few of the descriptions for the different fillings. We opted to get the Masala with potatoes, onions, and carrots. The presentation had me so intrigued. Dosas are made of rice. Just eat with your hands and dip away. My favorite was the coconut one. It was so delicious. With every bite I kept saying, OMG, I LOVEEEE IT!!! YUM!!! We also ordered the Medu Vada, a savory South Indian fried doughnut made with black lentils served with chutney and sambhar. Crispy exterior and soft inside. I also enjoyed the filter coffee and badam milk, which I love hot but almost always find offered only cold. The Indo-Chinese items such as the paneer manchurian (dry) were also not bad. That being said, I was very disappointed with the thatte idli, which ironically was what I was most excited to order. They offer with a variety of different podi toppings, but the one we ordered had a strange aftertaste. I'm not sure if it was from the ghee or the podi, but we didn't finish the order.
