Service and space are just so terrible that it outweighs the mediocre yet decent food that they serve. The floors literally so sticky you shoe literally peels off with each step. We came within an hour of closing time and already the staff were flipping chairs up and slathering the floor w/ Lysol - I understand this is fast food but please maintain some decorum! I had the gobi Manchurian and schezwan rice which were pretty OK - good portion size, not too spicy and tasty enough. My fiancé had the dosa which wasn't even really warm - in fact the potato bhaji on the side was COLD in the center! Insane !!!! Not to mention the sambar was more like gujarati sweet daal than sambar - terrible. Aloo Gobi was decently made according to my dad. We wanted a speedy dinner so it worked but otherwise really not worth coming to this establishment.
Mithaas never disappoints!! Food is always so delicious We came to celebrate a close family friend's birthday and ordered the following: -Chole bhature: The bhature were really fluffy and paired well with the aromatic flavors and spiciness of the chole. -Grilled Panini Sandwhich: -Vegetable Hakka noodles: noodles here are always a all-time fav -Chili Paneer (Dry): paneer was cooked so well and the whole dish was spicy -Mithaas Special Thali: it was a lot for one person but every single item in the thali were perfect! Only thing I didn't like how some of the utensils were dirty and place could be renovated a bit to make it look more classy. Still gave it 5 stars because of the delicious food for the night Will always recommend this place! Must try if you're in the Piscataway area or near Rutgers! Ordered: July 28, 2022 via Dining-In

My favorites are their Pav Bhaji, Mithaas Special Sandwich , Chhole Bhature and their multi Indian state platters. It is a casual dining , friendly staff. This is a decent place to go Indian food and sweets. Staff is helpful and accommodates the customer requests. Ordered many items of the menu and most them are really good. Our favorite are Wada Pav, Parathas, Chole Bhature, and Tokri Chaat This time we tried Chaat Thali which was good. Falooda which was very good along with paratha platter from dilli special.
I have heard mixed reviews about this restaurant and wanted to try it myself. I ordered the masala fries and paneer kulcha. I also ordered several other dishes through GrubHub, but they canceled it without notifying me, which was extremely unprofessional. The masala fries were below average. It was seasoned curly fries with a dipping sauce. Although it's listed as "masala" fries, there wasn't any flavor. However, the dipping sauce was thick, creamy, and spicy. The paneer kulcha was about satisfactory. There were bits of paneer with chaat masala, but nothing extraordinary for the price you pay. This restaurant is overrated with terrible customer service. After arriving at the restaurant to pick up my order, I was notified that they canceled more than half of my order because they ran out of an ingredient. I asked to replace the ingredient with something else, but I was rudely denied.

When you walk in, you order at the counter and then you can seat yourself wherever you prefer and the worker at the counter will give you a table number to take with you. The food is delivered to you by the staff once it's ready, and I have to say the time from ordering to food delivery was pretty quick! We had gone on Mother's Day weekend so it was pretty busy inside. We did make a reservation in advance, but it still took about 15 minutes before a table had opened up so we could sit down. Seeing how busy it was the day we went (and since it's one of the better known Indian restaurants in the area), I think the establishment would benefit with more than one person handling the counter. There is just one register and person taking orders and ringing people out, all the while taking phone calls. At the counter we had ordered a whole host of items including the Mother's Day special taali! Everything we ate was delicious! Hakka noodles, manchurian, the papdi chaat, a carrot noodle dish, paneer, etc. (we went a little overboard and ordered probably 8 or 9 things for our party of seven =P!) The portions were ample but not overbearing. We had enough food for the table, but nothing left over! Overall the service was good, the only gripe was the wait time prior to finding seating. Otherwise, the staff quickly brought our food out and it was prepared perfectly - not too cold or hot (for the cooked dishes) and the seasonings were right on to make the experience worth the wait. I would recommend this place if you're looking for delicious Indian food, served quickly and able to enjoy it with good company and comfortable ambiance. Enjoy!!

I've eaten a large portion of the menu (papri chaat, samosa Chaat, samosas, ghobi Manchurian, vegetable manchurian, Pani Puri, Dosa, paneer 65, hakka noodles and a few other things) everything is excellent. Interior/exterior: Loads of parking with a small drive thru for to go orders. Interior is clean and classy. Staff/extra: this place can be extremely busy at times but the staff handle it well but sometimes it feels chaotic. Everyone is nice, not bad. Great place to take non-indian people to try Indian food as well! Highly recommend this place :)

I had bought 60 dollar worth of sweets from this location. One box for Friend's ganesh, another box for friend's new home and third one was for myself some rasgullas. Distributed all the boxes to everywhere, next day opened my rasgullas and found hair. I dont know how the other boxes were, but can only wish they dint had any such issue. There is a reason we went to Mithas and spent so much money out of trust. Well never again.
It's a fast food place. You order st desk and find s table to sit down The nite I visited it was really chaotic. They do deliver the food to your table. You get your plastic utensils from s corner table with napkins and help your self water fountain. I ordered thali Gujarati which was worth the hassle .
This location is not as crowded as the one in iselin/oak tree. We ordered the following items. Pani puri. 3.5/5. Aloo Papri chaat. 3/5 Raj Kachori chaat. 3/5 Assortment of pakoras 3/5 While the items were mediocre in taste, compared to other Indian snack food places that I've been too, the service was actually on point. Do you have a cousin in the family who is unknown to most of your relatives? You will relate to this Mithaas location in Piscataway compared to its grand cousins in the Edison and North Brunswick locations. I'm surprised with the mixed and mostly bad reviews. This is the closest to our home and can make quick runs to it when we have unplanned guests coming home. We've had only sweets (desserts) and some chaat items taken home from here and looking forward to dine for a lunch or dinner meal soon. They have a clean restaurant with a huge parking and the staff are very receptive to your questions and requests. The taste without even having to mention, is outstanding. If you are new to Mithaas and have no clue on what to try for the first time? Try the Kesar Badam Milk drink and you wouldn't stop with just one! read more

This is probably the only cooking I love more than my mother's! Being a loyal foodie here at Mithaas, I've come to love not only the food, but the warmth from the servers to the cashiers to the manager himself (Mr. Tarun!)! The family atmosphere emanates from every corner of this specific Mithaas! All the Arora Group food places much learn from the evident success of Mr. Tarun and his team! I don't know about anyone else, but Mithaas will always hold a special place in my heart! Getting to the food - the dal makhani was the first one I've ever had which wasn't loaded with heavy cream, but with pure ghee (giving it a home taste), yet so rich! The Lucknawi thali takes me back to my grandmother's cooking back in Rajendranagar, Lucknow! This might be the home food you've been searching for all through oak tree, but will find it ONLY at the Stelton rd Mithaas! Stop reading and get in on this amazing food! read more

Delicious casual Indian eatery serving a variety of small plates, main dishes, and sweets. - THE FOOD: You can make a meal out of small plates (chaats) here, which is an excellent way to sample a variety of flavors. They also have "mini meals" like sandwiches and kathi rolls, as well as paratha platters, a few thalis, and a whole counter of desserts. A group of four of us shared a paratha (like a thin pita stuffed with various fillings, kind of like an Indian quesadilla), vegetable manchurian (vegetable dumplings in a savory, spicy sauce that resembles Chinese hot and sour soup), chana bhatura (chickpeas in a savory sauce, served with puffy fried bread), and sev batata puri (light crispy crackers topped with chutneys and other condiments). And they were all delicious and quite affordable. - FOR THE VEGGIES: EVERYTHING! It's wonderful! - THE SERVICE: Order at the counter, and they'll fill your order quickly and deliver your meal to your table. Missed a Item in take away order and didn't refund the money - Had horrible customer service experience. Had packed 7 boxes for friends and family while travelling from NJ to Boston. When I reached Boston I realized there were only 6 boxes. Upon calling Mithaas Piscataway location, had to hear denial from staff as well as from manager who were not ready to accept their mistake. Upon asking for refund for the missed box the manager gave an excuse that since i had done cash payment they cannot refund the amount to my credit card. I have been to Mithaas in Edison & New Brunswick multiple times & I m very familiar with food and taste so when I was in Piscataway- I thought abt trying Mithaas there..We missed the restaurant first time bc we didn't realize that this old building was restaurant.. Oh well.. made to restaurant & ordered food.. ordered tikki samosa & rabdi & Dahi Puri.. All my food items were good -- nothing exceptional .. no complaints & staff was nice but my issue is with Decor.. Seats were withered & doors had stains.. it just gives very old, unkept vibe.. I didn't feel this place was inviting.. I will never return to this restaurant bc of its unappealing vibe.. Mithaas Restaurants/ Arora group has been growing by leaps & bounds so they should definitely try to pay attention not only food but building & decor.. read more
Update form out last visit - this time to check out their weekend fare. The story remains fairly consistent in terms of service and quality. Considerably more busy on weekend. Here is the scope on thalis - the three thalis are Gujarati, Amritsari, and Mithaas. Now, here is what something got lost in translation. They serve refills only for dishes and breads in the Mithaas thali. A bit of a surprise because at least the Amritsari thali is priced higher so hard to understand the inconsistency. Unless this is a late adjustment to the menu, we did not notice this during the last visit. Note to management - simplify ordering and reduce the confusion. The exceptions takes away from the hospitality (and are tough to understand for the patrons). read more

This review for my favorite Indian eat out is long due. When I crave for vegetarian Indian I usually head here. Love the menu options. On this visit we ordered Dahi papdi chat, Bhel puri, Vada pav, curly masala fries & paneer tikka. Everything was so delicious! During my visits here I have come to realize that their South Indian delicacies are as good as their North Indian options. To top it all the place is clean, well maintained and the food always arrives on time. read more

This is our go to place for dinner and lunch. I love this place. Food is great , neat and clean place. We like our server Anjali. She is always friendly and helpful. She make our dine in experience even better. Friendly people and great food sums up all. I recommend it to everyone. read more

My first time at this location with a dear old friend of mine. The place is very casual! Once you walk-in, you head to the register where you order food and then pick a table and give the respective number on the table to them or they assign you a table where they bring over the food you ordered later on. We ordered the chole bature and the pau bhaji! Our food arrived within 10 minutes! I was surprised it came quickly! They were both really tasty except the bhaji was cold and had way too much onions sprinkled on the top and the side! I'm nota big fan of raw onions so seeing it mixed in the bhaji was disappointing even though i still ate it. The chole was tasty and again served cold. The batures were huge and hot! I took one star off for cold food and being that everything is pricey in this place. Not sure if i will come here again since it's pretty far from me but def once in a while is okay. read more
