One of those authentic Vietnamese places that I'd definitely want people to try out. The Saigon Chicken Curry which I ordered was so mind blowing! I requested the spice levels to be 5/5 and it didn't disappoint me. The base of the curry was so authentic and fresh ingredients were used. I have never had anything so good so far in USA. I'll definitely return here when I'll visit Ithaca or Cornell again. There's no private parking though that's the only small issue but there's plenty of street parking.

We were craving Asian food, so we got lunch at Saigon Kitchen. The waiter placed us in the middle and informed us that there will probably be large crowds coming in later due to graduation and ceremonies happening. We ordered the: Chicken Spring Rolls ($7) comes with 2 hand rolled deep friend spring rolls, served with sweet chili sauce. The roll was good, but I wish it came with the normal Viet fish sauce mixture. House Special Pho ($15) comes with rare eye round steak, brisket, tendon, and meatball. Tai Gan Pho ($14) comes with rare eye round steak and tendon. The pho broth was much sweeter than I'm used to, but it was still pleasant and rich. The tendon was a bit on the tough chewy side, and the steak slices were a little too overcooked for me.

Food 4.25/5 Service 4.5/5 Ambiance 3.5/5 Very decent pho for this area!! Enjoyed the house special pho a lot! But the viet ice coffee was not so good. It tasted very instant and way too sweet The stir fry pork with vermicelli was great too! The pork was tender and sweet.

Really cozy place in Ithaca! The service is fast, and staff are very attentive. I love their beef stew which has such a deep and rich broth that clings onto the noodles in every bite. The beef is also extremely tender as are the carrots. The portion is large and is typically good for 2-3 meals for me. I've also tried their House Pho which also has perfectly cooked noodles and a flavorful broth. Their grilled beef platter, however, was a bit more disappointing. The beef was overcooked and a bit thin and tough. Overall, a good experience, and I have come back several times. Definitely a good spot when you're craving Vietnamese food here in Ithaca.

Initially doubtful of this place despite good reviews since it was located a little away from Ithaca Commons, the ambience changed my mindset about it. Glad the menu was very detailed with vegetarian options and a separate section for vegan dishes. My order: Classic pho Fried rice Veggie Summer roll jasmine tea The pho was really amazing. Glad they didn't crowd the bowl with length sprouts and they were served on the side. That was the best part! Loved the broth and it was amalgamated with flavors. The fried rice was large in quantity and served two very well. The summer rolls were yummy but a little on the blander side. Accompanied by the peanut sauce, it was out of the world. Jasmine tea was like a cherry on the top, and you could never go wrong with it. It was only $2 for such a large pot of tea!! Never miss this gem! They gave us an umbrella to walk to our car due to heavy rain. Nice people!

A highly recommended Vietnamese place that certainly did not disappoint. Unlike most Vietnamese restaurants that specialize in pho (their pho was quite good, with a very rich broth!), the other traditional dishes definitely stole the show for us. The Honey Lemongrass Vermicelli had a great balance between the soft vermicelli, the tasty beef, and the tangy sauce. The beef stew was also a stand-out dish, with a very flavourful yet not too salty broth. The restaurant is quaint and cute, and service was great and attentive too! Would definitely come back!

Usual pho restaurant I thought. Service was attentive and a good pho place to stop in to while in Ithaca. A bit hot in the restaurant for the summer but that's nothing unusual for a noodle soup shop in the summer. Cheers pho now.

The beef stew reminds me of the time my mom made stew when I was really young. This food brings me back memories. I love it!

I ordered the beef stew and it was delicious! It reminds me of my young time. The waiter was so nice and friendly with us. I'll come back.

Service was great & everything came out so fast I was shocked. Everything we tried was phenomenal and we couldn't get enough. 10/10, can't recommend enough.

Great, authentic vietnamese cuisine. The soups are all tasty. Service is excellent. I would come back.

A great casual eatery that won't break the bank with delicious traditional Viet food. The Pho's are great. The broth is the most important part of the dish and they have a good one. Stop in if you're in the area if you want a quick delicious meal.

Love their food. My husband got pork with sunny side up rice and I got lemongrass pork vermicelli. Seasoning is amazing. They were busy but food came at decent time

Used to come here all the time while I was living in ithaca. It was definitely what I remembered. I remember it being so good, but since we live in nyc, I've been spoiled with more authentic Vietnamese food. They offer indoor seating now! Can dine inside! We ordered the summer roll, which did not taste very fresh. It had lettuce and shrimp inside. This is something that shouldn't go wrong, but it just wasn't that good. Ordered the house special beef pho, which was good. The broth was flavorful, but the beef slices many of them had pieces of fat. Not very healthy. Also ordered the chicken vermicelli. They completely forgot my order! It arrived at the end after hubby finished the beef pho! This dish was just so plain. Vermicelli with dry chicken pieces. Overall was just a mediocre experience.

Portions are embarrassingly small for the price. Even with modern prices, 6 tiny shrimp for $17 is nuts.

Their Thai tea is far better than Thai Basil, as is their food. When I organized events with the Cornell Southeast Asia Program, Tamarind was my preferred catering as well. Best pad see ew in town, with the perfect noodle texture and rich flavor (from wok energy). Love the coconut sticky rice dessert (and the gifted ceramic dishes which come with). Also highly recommend the mango sticky rice. Non-spicy: Yellow curry, Pad See Ew, Pad Thai. Spicy: Green curry (had it with chicken, duck) My only concern is how understaffed it often is. Usually one staff member to manage the whole floor, and kitchen staff in the back. And once a phone order was missing a dish (probably due to the poor single person managing the whole floor as cashier, host, wait staff, etc). This often sets take-out orders back as well. Usually on slower days, it's fast (20 mins). On bad days...like Cornell graduation weekend, it will take an hour+. I think there was a huge group of over a dozen in the tiny restaurant, ordering lots of food & drink. Came in to pick up at the time projected & sadly had to hang out at the restaurant an extra 30 mins + because of the overwhelmed staff. Let's hope they tipped generously! I would love to dine in one day, if they ever set up a table outdoors. In the meantime, for takeout, ALWAYS call to check on your order, given how busy & behind on orders they often get. The food is still worth us coming back again and again!

This review is an exception…read more I had read the reviews and heard from a variety of people that it was now open and sooo good. As a Vietnamese food lover, I'd been waiting impatiently for another addition to the (two) restaurants currently in town, and I love that they'd opted to open in a newly-vacant space. Was there on a Saturday evening with an air of frustration among guests and panic as the one lovely and well-known server was doing everything out front and could not keep up. Many people waiting without drinks or food. Normally I'd leave but I had nothing else to do and was not overly hungry, and my curiosity got the best of me. The place looked like it needed a little more work to be considered fully decorated and set up looked hastily done. That would not be a deterrent - some of the best food happens when decoration is not a priority. Eventually we got a table - a high-top next to a curtain that hid what used to be an open kitchen used by the previous occupant. From there we could see everything in the dining room. Someone was called in to assist, and she brought friends and sat down; Maybe promised a free meal if she'd fill in in an emergency. We could also hear everything, unfortunately. Whoever was preparing food was loudly coughing, blowing their nose, hacking, sneezing, spitting and...well, it was disgusting. We heard it all through the curtain and were grateful we could not see. We almost ran out after ordering but I couldn't do that to a fledgling place. I think the pressure to open and get things running and get money coming in means, in late winter restaurant staff are working when they shouldn't be. Our food was okay. Not spectacular. Not hot. Vietnamese pancake that should have been stuffed with much more veggies/filling, a salad and chicken pho that tasted more like "chicken noodle soup" and lacking the usual accoutrements (sprouts, basil, etc.) that come with pho. We could not really enjoy the meal. I'm shocked we're not sick after that experience. Just beware. I'm sure sick restaurant staff happens everywhere but the curtain arrangement made it impossible to hide.

When Pad Thai popped in my brain, I began my hunt for a restaurant to appease my craving. I have heard great things about Vietnamese Noodle House. I haven't been there since I was a child, and we went to the North Syracuse location. My sister and I headed over to the Camillus location for dinner. From the outside, the restaurant is kind of unassuming. You cannot see in from outside, and to my surprise, it was bustling in the dining room! There is a beautiful mural on the wall and I really loved the cozy, well-decorated feel of the restaurant. I wanted Pad Thai, of course, but I also wanted to have something else! I've had Bahn Mi before and was excited to introduce it to my sister. The sandwich was a really good size for the price. The chicken was nicely flavored, as were the pickled veggies, and the cucumber and carrots added a perfect balance to the French bread. The Pad Thai was exactly what I needed - great amount of crushed peanuts, large pieces of chicken, and a sweet and savory sauce. We also ordered dumplings. They had options for steamed/fried and pork/veggie. We had steamed pork dumplings. It was a joy to add the chili crunch and dip them in the delicious accompanying sauce. Our server was attentive but not overbearing. The total, including sodas, came out to around $40 which I found to be reasonable for how much everything costs right now! I can't wait to bring others to Vietnamese Noodle House and share the great experience with them.

Food-wise, we ordered the fried rice with crispy chicken (breaded in crushed Cheerios--yes, Cheerios, and yes, surprisingly delicious!), the bánh mì, and the crispy chicken sandwich, which ended up being the star of the show. Every bite of that sandwich was perfectly seasoned, crunchy, and satisfying. We upgraded our side to the greens, which came topped with some mysterious orange ingredient--maybe a grated carrot dressing? Whatever it was, it was scrumptious. We also ordered a side of pickles, which were surprisingly affordable and so flavorful that they disappeared fast. We didn't try any drinks, but the menu had plenty of interesting options to choose from.
