Thai Iced Tea
Susan M.

Stopped for dinner on Sunday night and the place was packed ( a good sign) Service was great Pacing was perfect and food was delicious The Thai Tea was fantastic and the fried tofu was crispy and light We will be back

Yummy! This was the best Thai I've had in Ithaca so far! I went basic and got the pad Thai but I wasn't disappointed. It had a very nice flavor and everybody was very friendly. Prices were good and the place was clean inside. There is parking available and the outside is a bit unassuming of the interior. Overall thought it was pretty good I'd come back

Eggplant with tofu comes with rice

Tamarind still isn't advertising in-house dining but we arrived and asked, so they allowed it. They are still heavily understaffed so we ate in to-go containers, which she disclosed early on, so it was perfectly fine with us. Service was great, she was attentive and the aesthetic inside is actually very peaceful and nice for a quiet dinner with a friend. Food prices were typical and serving size was fine for the price. I'm giving this 4 stars because it's a local business and everything seems to be struggling a little, but it's a solid 3.5 stars with no wiggle room in terms of food. My drunken noodles were bland and a little too oily to my liking. The tofu on it was delicious though. My friend got eggplant and that was a tastier find that I'd recommend. Unfortunately I witnessed a very entitled and disgruntled customer interaction. The customer came to the door, which has become a fast-food takeout window (weird) and waited for service. My friend and I were clearly diners and he started asking us about where the server was within like one minute of waiting there. We said she was around. He began calling out and waited no more than 5 minutes for the staff member to come out. He delivered his negative feedback to her in front of us and she was embarrassed. The issue was that the customer was a little too angry but chose not to leave a tip on a to-go order and the employee asked him to leave one. He of course got even more angry and said service was awful and left. 1. A lot of drama. 2. Treat staff nicely and be understanding that many spots are understaffed. 3. We need to squash this increasing expectation of tipping on to go orders, it's dumb.

Curdled curry

I used to be a huge fan of this place like 10-15 years ago when I lived in the area. I tried it again today and it is significantly worse. The Thai spicy noodles had some spice, but very little actual flavor. The Panang curry had a bit more flavor, but it too was disappointing. Also, the curry has broken or curtled or something and the consistency was very off-putting. Service was friendly enough, but they are to-go only so there isn't really much service to be had.

if you want little meat and mostly oil go here, authentic and thai food worth the money is definitely found elsewhere. Just overall the experience/food was not worth how pricey everything is (bland, texture seemed almost a little old) and i'd advise elsewhere. The thai iced tea was good tho i will give them that

Onion fried rice

We were passed by Ithaca around dinner time and stop by this restaurant. When I went inside the hostess/waitress was busy. She ignored me, didn't say please wait or the place is packed. I was waiting for 15 mins, other server said I had to wait. After 20 mins she asked me if I want to dine in or take out? The food was okay nothing special. The fried rice greasy with few rice and lots of onion, the pork larb was bland and the noodle warm. The restaurant ambiance was nice. After I ate with super slow service the waitress finally smile and asked if it's okay to get 20% tips? After ignored the customer and now asked for 20% gratuity because there's graduation!! If she wanted 20% tips she needs to ask her owner to gave her better salary not from customers!!

Kai Qua Noodle, Pad Thai seafood, Duck Salad. I already ate some. The portion was a little larger than this.

They clearly stated that the delivery will be 90 minutes so it gives me time to plan. And they deliver on time as promised. The food was still hot and crispy. I ordered Kai Qua Noodle, Pad Thai, and Duck Salad. All taste great. For home delivery, I don't see the need to provide plastic spoons and forks. I'll write in a reminder that I don't need any next time.

Found out after ordering there is a new owner--food and service were not as good as before. Won't be returning.

They've been a bit quiet since COVId but I really hope this place stays open because it's delicious. The Massaman curry is their specialty.

Asia Cuisine - Pork bulgolgi bento

Good Jajjangmyeon in Ithaca!…read more My parents recommended this spot to me- and they are very particular about their Asian food. They absolutely hated Kimchi. I finally got around to trying Asia Cuisine though must admit I was a bit hesitant given their extensive menu (I feel like if a restaurant offers too many types of cuisines the quality takes a hit). However, I was pleasantly surprised! I had been craving jajjangmyeon (I had it once at Koko's but it was not good) and ordered Asia Cuisine's C3 green tea noodle w jajang sauce. The noodles were delicious! Al dente and the slightest hint of green tea flavor! The jajang sauce was a tad oily and not super traditional, though I still enjoyed it- especially the addition of onions! Service was okay. Nothing exceptional. While I haven't tried any of their other menu items, I would recommend their green tea noodle jajjangmyeon!

Hey Google inconspicuous restaurant a corner lot but when you approach it, you notice the lines out…read morethe door and it's completely packed compared to the high your end places next-door. Pretty straightforwardly named Asian cuisine. They offer a combination of Chinese Japanese and Korean food. I had a tasty Bulgogi bento box which had tempura, a California roll, japchae, salad with ginger, purple multigrain rice and of course the delicious bulgogi. It's a casual atmosphere with friendly service. We honestly walked in cause we overheard several people saying it was better than "this", "this", and "that". But honestly the aroma from the kitchen was enough to draw me in. Definitely tasty, fresh, well portioned and highly recommended.

Miba Rice Bar - Pineapple Chicken

This spot recently opened in the former Han Noodle Bar location. The space has been refurbished by…read morethe original owner, who sold the business but kept the building. It's large, bright, and decorated in crisp white with shades of green. We stopped in on a Thursday and were the only diners right now, the only reviews seem to be on Google. Service was pleasant and friendly. The menu is compact (photo included) and may change monthly, with some tweaks happening weekly. Honestly, I'd rather see a small menu done well than a big one done badly. Everything here is house-made, and I'd recommend dining in rather than doing takeout. We started with the Cheese Wonton, pork, green pesto, and Parmesan. This was a surprise: instead of fried, it was steamed and topped with pesto and Parmesan. Tasty, unique, and shareable--two people could easily split it, but it would work for four as well. I'd happily order it again. For mains, we tried the Braised Pork and the Pineapple Chicken, both served with white rice (recommended by our server to soak up the sauce). The flavors were good, but I would have liked more sauce, vegetables, and hotter rice. Both dishes could have used a touch more umami to really shine. Granted, they've only been open since mid-July, but this isn't the owner's first restaurant. The food and service are good, but with a few tweaks, they could be great. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, they just need time to iron out the kinks. One suggestion: they need a social media presence, which they currently don't seem to have. Overall, I'll be back it's in my neighborhood, and I think they have real potential. Parking is on the street. 4.5 outta 5

The cheese wontons were delicious, pork filling, topped with pesto and Parmesan. A very unique (and incredibly tasty) combination! The chicken salad was a cold, shredded chicken dish, with cucumber and pickled onion, tossed with a lightly spicy chili oil. Light and refreshing! For my entree, I had the Jingdu Pork. It was crisp and tender, with peppers and onion. The sauce had a great citrus flavor, with the perfect amount of wok hei to accent it. It went perfectly with my included side choice of fried rice. My friends had the Chicken entree, which was a classic sweet and sour dish with pineapple; the peppercorn chicken, which was a mildly spicy stir fried chicken with tomato slices; and the beef, which was very tender and well seasoned. The service was excellent, and very friendly. As for parking, there is a lot next door shared with Dogtown and Hydra. I definitely plan on returning, and also look forward to trying their $10 lunch plates!
