I'm borderline addicted to this place! This is a fantastic place to get a quick meal and drink, and is it delicious! I personally love their ramen, their build-your-own rice bowls, and their strawberry fruit green tea with strawberry boba, but that's just the beginning of what they have here. I also really like their online ordering system, because then I can just put in what I want, how I want it, and then go to the pick-up counter to get it. Wonderful for a picky eater like me! Good spot to study and a wide array of unique snacks! I have tried a poke bowl here as well as their lychee tee with boba. The poke was rather mediocre. I prefer Poke lava. There was hardly any fish in my poke bowl. My tea was okay, though I asked for 0 sugar it still tasted quite sweet. Boba was fine. A little annoying that they charge you extra for a hot tea vs a cold one. I wouldn't recommend their poke but will likely return to try another drink on their menu and perhaps pick up some of their snacks. read more

What a wonderful find at the mall. Being big fans of Taichi Bubble Tea from Chicago, we love coming here for lunch and for dinner. Near the entrance, customers get a chance to write down their orders, For my go-to, I like to order the make your own brown rice and sesame seed bowl. It contains cucumbers, carrots, seaweed salad, tofu, chopped broccoli, ginger, sliced cherry tomatoes, cilantro and dried seaweed topping. Joseph orders the chicken teriyaki with white rice. He said the meal tastes good. Delicious and fresh! We get our orders pretty quick. Taichi Bubble Tea sells their famous boba drinks here. My go-to drink will always beThai tea. You have to be really wary of costs here. I noticed that they charged me for boba/pearls (0.55) when I never ordered them. I also was charged for getting a zang zang milk with no ice. I was charged an extra 0.25 because apparently they add extra milk when you opt out of ice. Again, a hidden cost. I've been going here pretty regularly for years, but have to say they get my order wrong about 1/2 of the time now. Especially in the past year, and often when the same staff who worked the Yelp Elite event (see my review for that) take care of my order. I really hope it's just a coincidence... Nonetheless, they are the best poké option of what we have in town, so I take my chances. And often regret tipping as much as I do up front when they inevitably get my order wrong or something else tastes off. What is unfortunate is I normally order takeout and it's not until I get home that I notice my food or drink order is incorrect. This though to figure out when they have the opaque cup so I can't see what's in it, except for the clear bottomed cup showing the boba. Today, I received my poké bowl missing my entire green layer (I ordered kale and spinach), and mango. The broccoli is hit or miss, as it's bitter most days. One day, I thought they left out my kale...and what I found in my bowl was exactly one (1) leaf piece the size of a fingernail. My drink today (avocado smoothie with whole milk) was powdery to the point it was crunchy (and not the blended ice kind of way). It also tasted like soy milk, but it may be the avocado powder...the same way too much protein powder tastes in a smoothie. I think this may be the order that does it for me--I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I am not feeling good about this place anymore. The past year has been off. I do like that they have points though...I redeem them often. I didn't get points to redeem this last time though...which is odd, given I spend enough to have enough to spend every time I come in. Yes yes and yes! Taichi hits the culinary trifecta....bubble tea, ramen, and poke. And why not throw in sushi burritos as an unexpected bonus? All my favorites, all under one roof. A what a space it is....a massive bright, fun and inviting dining area. Easily one of, if not the largest Asian dining spaces I've seen anywhere. The spicy Tonkatsu is basically everything you can ask for in a good bowl of ramen. A broth full of depth(cooked for hours upon hours on end), Al dente noodles, tasty pork belly, and fresh ingredients. With the amount of ramen I eat, I tend to be a little on the critical side. But I can honestly say this was very well executed. Would easily Recommend. Upon finding out Thaichi is a franchise(currently over 30 locations), I swear I've looked into owning and bringing one close to home. This place is so bad. I am judged and criticized each time I come here because I order dishes with less calories and added sugars than most. The same lady who works the counter is unnecessarily rude and never fails to make weird faces at me and have an issue with what I ordered. I'm sorry I didn't order the exact same way you would have, it is not your place or your business to be so concerned over what I as a customer am ordering. So long as you get paid and the customer/business transaction is complete, thats all that should matter. One of those places where I can get a good, solid meal fast, whether it's a poke bowl or a rice bowl. There are a few more poke places in the downtown area now, including Dream Poke and Pokelava. I think in terms of the fish quality, there are definitely ups and downs with this place, but overall I tend to come here because of the ease of parking (and avocado is still free here :)). I do with they had Japanese curry though. Sometimes people can be a bit gruff here but I take that as a cost for the efficiency. read more

It's actually kind of incredible how many options there are at this one place. They serve sushi burritos and bowls, poke bowls, ramen, bento bowls, boba (fruit tea, milk tea, milk, you name it) and more. The store itself is huge, spacious, and comfy. It's also FILLED with outlets and has wifi. Literally if I were a student, I'd be all over this place. It's bright, with plenty of seating for studying or hanging out with friends. I ordered the beef bowl, which basically tasted exactly how you'd expect. Very beef bulgogi-y. It came with broccoli that was steamed-- I'm more of a sauteed broccoli person. I'd love if it could have had more flavor instead of a lazy steam, but I know some people like their broccoli like that. I also found that the rice bowl was overflowing with rice... ... Which is not what my family who got sushi bowls could say. They had a ton of toppings but not enough rice. We also had a few bowls of ramen, and though I didn't try it myself, that dish seemed to be the highlight! Our boba was good enough as well! I was actually surprised by how much better it was than I thought it was going to be. I ordered the Peach Lemon Tea from their lemonade series with mango jelly. It was refreshing and genuinely delicious. I tried the boba from my sister's drink and found the boba texture to be better than I thought it was going to be. I've been thrilled after every single visit to Taichi. The employees are always friendly, the boba is SO GOOD, and I love how easy and delicious their sushi burritos are. The location is v cute and picture-worthy inside and has outdoor seating options for those nice spring/summer/fall days. This place is known for the food items that I'm fairly obsessed with but have been wanting more options for in Ithaca: bubble tea, ramen, and poke. Just for the fact that it makes those items more available, I'm considering the addition of this new Taichi Bubble Tea location in Ithaca to be a win. Wanting options for a late lunch (and later dinner), I ordered for pickup via Door Dash thanks to a coupon I still had leftover - including a taro milk tea (no ice, less sugar, lychee boba), a miso ramen w. beef, and then a poke rice bowl with salmon, tuna, and various toppings like cucumber, mango, green onion, fried wonton noodle, and a couple other options... sauces including ponzu, yuzu, and mango sauce (on the side, mixed in later). Admittedly, I was missing some poke topping options that I usually get (hijiki, masago, pineapple, and some additional crunchy toppings like fried noodles, sesame seeds, or crushed macadamia nuts), but I was pleased with how the bowl turned out - both colorful *and* tasty. The miso ramen, which I actually had for a late breakfast/brunch this morning, was also good. Granted, it probably would have been better when originally served and still hot... but it reheats well. I've noticed in another review that they mentioned the meat was a bit tough, but I didn't experience that with the beef. Actually, the beef was just a wee bit pink in the middle when added to the ramen... and since I like my steak cuts generally on the medium-rare side, I was actually pretty delighted by that cook for the beef being added to my ramen. (The seasoning of the meat was also very good.) The restaurant itself provides various seating options, and is a decent size... though I can also see how it can get quite crowded when the lines are long. I would also say that their food seems a bit on the pricier side... I paid $19.98 for the miso ramen w. beef. That seems a tad bit high? TL;DR All-in-all, very satisfied with what I've tried so far. My rating is really a 3.5/5. There aren't many places like this in Ithaca. It has both a Orlando and Flushing feel to it somehow. It's like fast casual meets somewhat hipster vibes meets new Orlando/Flushing. Put another way, it's like walking into a fast casual spot that has hipster-like vibes but very uniform so not really hipster; with a distinctly bubble tea shop vibe. Ambiance/decor: Pretty casual but relaxing and pretty enough to hang out. They put a lot of effort into making it nicer than places around here and deserve credit for it. Food: It's pan-Asian but not really good at any one thing. It's hard to do this well. They at least offer people options beyond their poke bowls, which are just okay. I have yet to try the ramen but their version of gyudon isn't bad - fulfilled a need. Their pork bowl was also good. Beverages: The bubble tea is standardly good. But I haven't tried their slushes, which seem to be a bigger deal. If they only served alcohol of some form, then I would be up in there very often. One can only dream! Service: You fill out the poke sheet and hand it to cashier to pay. Or you order other dishes from the cashier. Pick it up from the counter when it's done and that's it. Super simple and little interaction. Overall, I would go back for ambiance and range of options but not necessarily cause I feel like it's amazing food. read more

This place has one of the best bubble tea drinks in the area. The boba is a bit too chewy but the overall drink is decent. The ramen is good. The broth is pretty well flavoured, but the meat was a bit too tough to eat. The meat was also a bit underwhelming in taste. Overall the food and bubble tea here is very good and I look forward to coming back to try out more of their foods. There is a nice vibe in the restaurant but the music is a bit too loud to have a decent conversation with friends. Such a large bubble tea/poke spot! Great atmosphere and place to hang out but it gets busy! Came on a Saturday night and the line was almost out the door. The ordering/waiting process took us about 30 minutes from the end of the line. They have a pretty large menu consisting of milk teas, brown sugar teas, fruit teas and more. I got the standard taichi tea which was just ok - slightly more bitter than other regular teas, but their bubbles are good. Ratio of milk is high and I wish there was more tea. Boba is QQ, but wasn't cooked in brown sugar. Food is something I can make at home.
