    Mmm Roast Duck!
    Dave N.

What a pleasant surprise in Ithaca! There was a great variety of small and large plates here of varying spice levels with Thai and Indian flavors. I had the large plate of roasted duck which was delicious in a savory sauce and bok choy. We also got a Penang curry with beef which was very spicy in a very good way. Memorable small plates included the mushroom satay and lotus fritters. I would skip the Dahl app and sea bass entree next time. We really enjoyed this meal!

Mia was so wonderful ! Really tasty food, great service and a nice ambiance made for a five star experience all around. The menu has lots of small plates and some decadent sounding entrees. You can make a meal out of the small plates alone if you order enough! It was hard to pass on some of the mouthwatering entrees though. We started off with a few small plates -- bbq pork bao and grilled portobellos in peanut sauce. Pork bao are my favorite and these were no exception - the pork was super juicy and flavorful. Mushrooms weren't much to write home about but ordering a veggie at least made me feel a little better about myself. The highlight of my meal was for sure the beef stir fry which came in the sweetest sauce with so many fresh veggies and well cooked meat. This came with a side of fluffy white rice. My husband loved his crispy duck. We both cleared our plates! Mia has a full bar and you can wash everything down with a cocktail or choose from a selection of local wines and beers. It's all about the local wine in Ithaca, so of course we had to order some. Our server was super attentive and even though the restaurant felt crowded he continually came over to check in. If I return to Ithaca Mia will surely be on my list.

This has always been a reliable option for a nice dinner. There are a variety of small and large plates (all appropriately portioned) as it is a tapas restaurant. There are also a variety of dishes ranging from curries to noodles to wings. The service is good. I have enjoyed the food each time I have come. They also have specials every night for tapas, entrees, and drinks. Note there are also a variety of dishes from different cuisines and cultures.

Came here on graduation weekend (reserved ahead of time of course). Each person gets to choose an appetizer, entree, and a dessert for $60 per person. Since we came in a group of 5, we shared the appetizers family style. For apps: seared tuna, crab wonton, beef skewers, shrimp with curry. The seared tuna has a strong pepper taste (so stay away if you don't like that). The beef skewers were deliciously marinated but a little on the dry side. The shrimp with curry was delicious (on the menu it says it's prawn, it's really just regular shrimp). The highlight was the crab wonton - this was delicious including the soup that came with it! For entree: I got duck in sweet and sour sauce, with rice on the side - this duck was absolutely delicious. Crispy skin, tender meat - the sauce was also really good albeit a tad too sweet. For dessert: did a little family style as well - mango cheesecake, lemon sorbet, and lava cake. The lemon sorbet was underwhelming. The mango cheesecake and lava cake were absolutely delicious. The lava cake had a raspberry swirl on top of the ice cream. The chocolate inside did melt like a lava (always the test of a good a lava cake), and the cake itself is pretty good, tasted like regular chocolate cake. Overall, a wonderful place to grab dinner at for a special occasion - the name of this restaurant lives up!

Their food is spicy, delicious, and really hits the spot. Prices for entrees are reasonable. I tried the sea bass.

Mia has always been a delightful place to enjoy a dinner, if perhaps a somewhat small location that can leave you feeling a bit cramped. That aside, it's a classier (but relaxed) restaurant that serves delicious, Asian-inspired tapas. I've always experienced really solid service here, with knowledgeable staff as well. I've also been having a Mia craving during all this covid craziness, so I opted to order for delivery the other day (a variety of items, just to have some leftovers). The order (with prices for reference) included: Order From Mia Tapas Bar: $7.50 Sauteed Brussel Sprouts $11.00 Lamb and Beef Kebab with Naan Bread $16.00 Prawns Pad Thai $21.00 Duck Panang I consider all the prices fairly reasonable especially given the deliciousness of the dishes. My cravings have been appeased (nom nom nom), and I'm already planning my next splurge on Mia to order some new items from the menu that I haven't tried before. TL;DR Mia is always a favorite - especially for a nice date night, but delivery for dinner at home works just as well. :)

Great food and excellent cocktails. One of my favorites is the beef curry noodles. Lots of vegan and gluten free options.

We arrived pre-concert on a Sunday night and were immediately seated. The diamond has an extensive menu, especially when it comes to Indian bread. The curry was perfectly seasoned and had just the right amount of heat I requested. The food came out pretty quickly and was piping hot. Unfortunately, they were out of most of their IPAs so I settled for an Indian beer. I would've rated it higher, but the bathroom was in need of repair with paint peeling off the ceiling.

She was looking for advice from me, but I was very happy when the owner came by and said he could select our food and we trusted him.He asked us a few questions about spice level, proteins, etc. He said he would bring us an appetizer, a chicken entree and a vegetable entree. He also brought us 2 hot chai drinks. We agreed it was the best chai we've ever had....it was mildly sweet and the spices were perfect. We were brought as an appetizer...fried cauliflower with a Manchurian sauce which was sweet, mildly spicy and a touch sour..... perfect. We got 4 beautiful veggie balls..... finely minced veggies with paneer in a very creamy sauce. The taste was a little sweet and when eaten on the super hot and fresh naan it was delicious. Our last dish was chicken kebabs, I believe made in the tandoori oven with spices and served with a beautiful sweet, creamy tomato sauce. We didn't ask for dessert but we're brought a complementary rice pudding to share... heavenly! We were checked on several times and water glasses were kept filled. We are both big water drinkers. After taking some neighborhood streets, we arrived at the location and parked in their small lot. There was room for perhaps for 6-7 cars. Each space was labeled for whether it was for the restaurant or not. Entering, we were greeted and seated. We had about 1 hour and 14 minutes before boarding, so the staff were very accommodating and pointed out what could be made quickly (basically everything except their tandoori). They also answered questions about gluten. We ended up getting aloo tikki chaat and a lamb shank masala. They provided chickpea flour crisps with mint-cilantro and tamarind chutney. They also brought us their complimentary chai tea, which was very nice and satisfying. Their chaat was well-balanced, gluten-free (the crispies are made with chickpea flour), and it had pomengranate, chickpeas, and potatoes. The pile was dressed with yogurt, tamarind chutney, and mint chutney. Their lamb shank masala came bone-in with the curry sauce surrounding it. The lamb was well cooked, and mostly moist and tender, though there were parts that were dry. Both dishes were well-adorned, which was a nice touch. Best of all, however, was how exemplary all the staff were at the restaurant. They exuded a wonderful calmness and hospitality. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Syracuse.

It's been awhile since we've sat in the restaurant but whenever we do it's always a great experience. Take-out is a different story. When we've ordered on GrubHub we never get a notification stating the food is ready so we just go a little after the specified time it's expected to be ready. I don't know how orders come in from GrubHub but it seems like they don't always see them. There have been numerous times when the food isn't ready and based on the extensive time we have to wait to get the food it it's clear they hadn't even seen the order come in. This certainly isn't every time but it's happened multiple times. Recently we tried using GrubHub and but were having issues with spotty wifi so we called it in instead. They said we could pay when we arrived. I was quite shocked that the order which totaled $40 on Grubhub rang up as $53 in person (see receipts attached). I stated my surprise but their response was to try DoorDash instead next time. If you compare the receipts each main dish rang up about $2 more expensive in person than it did on Grubhub and each appetizer or dessert was $3 more. The quantity of food we received was no different than when we order via Grubhub and when called out for this I would have expected a better response. So if you're interested in picking up take out, NEVER order direct. But if you order through a third party always call to check the food is ready before picking it up so you don't waste your time waiting.

Anyways... what did I get out of it? An awesome group of people and well... MIX. Updating my review because MIX deserves a proper shoutout and I haven't done it justice. This place is unequivocally my absolute FAVORITE brunch spot. The selection is vast, the portions are hearty, and the staff? They're the kindest, most accommodating folks you'll meet. It's like they've mastered the art of making you feel right at home. And the food? Oh, the food is ABSOLUTELY divine. Every bite is a delicious reminder of why I've converted to the church of brunch. Seriously, I went from a casual brunch-goer to a full-fledged brunch enthusiast, all thanks to CHAARG for leading me to this culinary gem. My brunch game has never been the same.

I've had brunch, lunch, and dinner at MIX, and all with varying levels of enjoyment. My recent…read morebrunch experience included ordering a Where the West Begins omelette, which includes "Braised short rib, butternut squash, red onion jam, spinach, smoked gouda". I wasn't sure how to feel about butternut squash with everything else (I'm not necessarily a huge squash fan - but I'm trying to learn to enjoy it), but the omelette was decent... it's the other side on my plate that looked less than appetizing. The biscuit was still covered in flour (and who wants to bite down on a clump of flour?), the cheddar hashbrown casserole lacked in flavor, and the brown sugar cinnamon oatmeal just... wasn't doin' it for me. Other recent experiences have been similar... there's usually one item on the plate that's flavorful or imventive (sometimes a main dish, sometimes a side), and the other parts of the plate are lacking. In reality, I think MIX is suffering a bit from rising food costs and inconsistency in their service and offerings. They've also changed the style of their menu from the original tapas-style to now being more typical entree options. Again... they've lost some of their innovative, experimental approach. In terms of ambiance, it really depends. I've been here for a work event and, because of the number of people, it was SO LOUD... they had also done a buffet offering for the event. As you can imagine, the food from the buffet was lacking, but that's often what happens when you're more mass producing your food (and it's left in a chafing dish, trying to be kept warm). On the other hand, I've been here for a dinner on a random night and was able to enjoy one of their Thai noodle bowls (and split some other apps with friends). The reality is that experiences at MIX are... well... a mix. Whether service, menu offerings, etc., I've found MIX's recent inconsistencies to be a disappointment. Will probably only visit in the future if it's suggested by others.
