Those cheese turnovers!
Michelle G.

First time sitting in the bar area. Love the vibe but the tables seem a bit close/small so we opted for the bench. Folks beside us ordered the wedge salad and it was impressive enough that one of us opted for the same thing. I chose mussels in the "French style" - white wine, tomatoes, lemon, capers, butter - instead of Thai or Italian. Fresh hot (drop 'em, they're that hot) cheesy popovers to start. Mussels were well cleaned (no grit, no beards, no broken shells) but am not a fan of crostini (toooooo crunchy) so left a ton of yummy dipping liquid behind. Dessert tray looked impressive but we said no.

The good: outside seating that is dog friendly. The brought over a dog bowl which was nice. It's a quaint place with a cute water fountain. Ordered a sloppy burger and a short rib brisket sandwich. I liked by short rib sandwich overall, I thought it could have been more generous on the meat given the price. The not so good: The burger though was disappointing, it lacked any resemblance of a sloppy Joe and the quality of beef and texture of the patty left alot to be desired, since it was not juicy at all and my husband was disappointed in his choice. Service is a little slow.

I joined Cornell CHAARG, an organization (rather scammy one but that's beyond the point) dedicated to showing college-aged women that fitness can be fun and fulfilling. Anyways... what did I get out of it? An awesome group of people and well... MIX. Updating my review because MIX deserves a proper shoutout and I haven't done it justice. This place is unequivocally my absolute FAVORITE brunch spot. The selection is vast, the portions are hearty, and the staff? They're the kindest, most accommodating folks you'll meet. It's like they've mastered the art of making you feel right at home. And the food? Oh, the food is ABSOLUTELY divine. Every bite is a delicious reminder of why I've converted to the church of brunch. Seriously, I went from a casual brunch-goer to a full-fledged brunch enthusiast, all thanks to CHAARG for leading me to this culinary gem. My brunch game has never been the same.

Thai bowl with Tofu

The menu options were great! I wasn't sure how well they would pull it off, serving Asian fusion and Italian food on the same menu. Our waiter Max explained the menu and was very thoughtful, he took the time to tell us about the owners along with the local area! I had the clam with red sauce, my daughter had the French mussel bowl. Thai bowl with lemon grass and tofu. Each one of us really enjoyed our dish! There were so many other things we would like to try next time. Also the bread served with the marinara sauce was amazing.

CRISPY PORK BAO BUNS

Overall, the food was really good! Very flavorful and an interesting mix of different cuisines! We ordered the pork bao buns, the mac & cheese, and the truffle fries. To start, they brought out popovers with a tomato based dipping sauce. These were warm, soft, and quite chewy (in a good way... maybe even the highlight of the meal)! The bao buns were fine. Make sure to ask them to remove the cashews if you have a nut allergy! They were a tad too oily, but the addition of pickled onion helped cut the grease. I really enjoyed the mac and cheese! Definitely not your traditional mac...it is rather sweet due to the cornbread and has an added complexity from the onion topping. The beef brisket was tender, but the pork that was in our mac & cheese was largely inedible as it was just cartilage. Still, I would order this dish again though! The fries were boring, and I wish there was a stronger truffle flavor. I came on Valentine's Day with a friend, and service was surprisingly very fast! Highlight: Popovers and Mac & Cheese Lowlight: Fries Overall, I would recommend giving Mix a try!

Had a great breakfast here on their patio. It was great because we had our dog with us on a little weekend vacation and she was able to sit on the porch with nobody else on it. I went inside to check it out and it's really nice inside. I got a really great breakfast that included fresh fruit. We each got a nice cocktail as well. Great service.

Mix is our favorite date night spot... the service and food is consistently the best in Ithaca (especially when you factor in parking). My favorite place to get a perfectly cooked Delmonico steak (the gorgonzola butter is yummy) and the new pasta dishes are amazing. Love the fun new apps (the French onion soup dumplings, Thai wings and devils on horseback). The cocktails are inventive and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. And the brunch in the weekend is also delightful!

Soulful Mac & Cheese (LEFTOVERS, I know the pic is ugly lmfaooo)

The chefs here are wizards. The main reason I love MIX is because it's fearless in its endeavors to discover unique flavour pairings in food & drink. Even when I'm not in love with a dish, I can acknowledge it's because of my own preferences and not because the flavours in the dish weren't in harmony with one another. Also the interior design skills here are A1. I could NOT stop gawking at the interior and exterior of this restaurant. Especially at all the glasswork. Our waitress was also very considerate throughout our meal! I recommend the duck quesadillas and noodle bowls.

Thai Noodle Bowl

Wonderful. This restaurant never disappoints. I had the Thai Noodle bowl. Flavors broke my mouth they were so good! Wild mushroom ravioli was delicious. Olivia our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. We are local and will be back!

I really enjoyed Bar Argos. My girlfriend and I wandered in right at 4 pm - opening time lol - and…read morewere immediately greeted by a woman who checked our IDs and handed us menus with quiet efficiency. The place was totally empty, which is to expected at that time. Bar Argos is definitely a vibe. Think: antique chic with a touch of eccentric elegance. Ornate chairs, old-school lamps, and fancy mismatched furniture are scattered throughout, making you feel like you've wandered into a vintage movie set where cocktails play a leading role. There are multiple rooms, including one with a long table and huge windows that let the light spill in dramatically. I was lowkey stunned by how pretty it all was. Girlfriend and I shared the Clarified Lassi ($13), which is under the "Delightfully Unusual" section of their cocktail spectrum - right in between "Colloquial" and "What?!" It was fruity, creamy, and weird in a cool, sophisticated way. My Hotelie friend later explained in the car (upon mention of the drink) that clarified cocktails use a process where milk is added to a mixed drink and then curdled on purpose. The curds trap impurities, and when you strain them out, you're left with a crystal-clear drink that still has the creamy mouthfeel. Definitely checks out with the Clarified Lassi that we drank... Overall, the experience felt like stepping into a fancy secret. 10/10 would come back, undoubtedly!!

We stayed at the Statler Hotel for work and enjoyed dinner here both nights. Not pictured are all…read morethe appetizers we devoured (crab dip, chicken bites, sweet potato fries, and the fried polenta). I personally wasn't a fan of the fried polenta, but also did not try it with the sauce. The first night I tried their lavender lemonade (non alcoholic), which I thought was good, but fell in with the Lemon Tree cocktail the second night. Both nights I ordered the "burger of the month" which was a pesto burger. I added bacon and asked for a Caesar salad instead of fries. We ordered two of the chicken bites so the group could try both sauces, but since I'm not a fan of spicy, I only tried the honey truffle one and loved it. Our servers were very nice and patient (we were a group of about 10), and if I'm ever back in town, I'll be sure to try some of the other entrees!

Level B is one of those places that feels like a fever dream -- in the best and worst ways. You go…read moredown into the basement, and suddenly, you're in a dimly lit, curtain-filled labyrinth of crowded dance floors, questionable life choices, and unexpectedly deep conversations in the bathroom line. The Good :) * Coat Check: A lifesaver in the winter. You walk in, shed your layers, and pretend you won't forget to pick it up later. * Photo Booth: If you don't take a chaotic, slightly blurry photo strip with your friends, did you even go? * Seating Area Behind Curtains: If you need a moment to recover from the dance floor (or escape an awkward interaction), this little tucked-away lounge is a solid spot. * Music: Hit or miss. Some nights you'll get bangers, other nights you'll be questioning the DJ's entire playlist. The Bad :( * No Apple Pay. A tragedy, honestly. I lose things easily, so forcing me to keep track of a physical card in a dark, crowded club is a recipe for disaster. It's 2025 -- let me tap my phone and move on with my night. * Bathroom Situation: Three stalls for an entire club's worth of people. Enough said. You will wait, and you will make bathroom-line friends out of necessity. Final Thoughts Level B is grimy, chaotic, and slightly unhinged -- which, in a way, is its charm. You don't go here expecting luxury; you go expecting a wild night and maybe a story to tell later. Still better than Hideaway though! 3/5.

Management can also be a bit unfriendly and it's Russian roulette regarding if you're gonna get the brunt of it. Personally I like this place more than Moonies, but I feel like there's so much more that can be done with such a pretty basement venue.
