We stayed at the Statler Hotel for work and enjoyed dinner here both nights. Not pictured are all the appetizers we devoured (crab dip, chicken bites, sweet potato fries, and the fried polenta). I personally wasn't a fan of the fried polenta, but also did not try it with the sauce. The first night I tried their lavender lemonade (non alcoholic), which I thought was good, but fell in with the Lemon Tree cocktail the second night. Both nights I ordered the "burger of the month" which was a pesto burger. I added bacon and asked for a Caesar salad instead of fries. We ordered two of the chicken bites so the group could try both sauces, but since I'm not a fan of spicy, I only tried the honey truffle one and loved it. Our servers were very nice and patient (we were a group of about 10), and if I'm ever back in town, I'll be sure to try some of the other entrees! read more

We love this place-super underrated for food, as well as drinks. From our pictures, we go when we can and it's always consistent and delicious! The truffle fries with the lemon aioli is not to be missed, and they make a mean burger! We love the hummus plate too. They have a full bar, but have fun seasonally-rotating cocktails that always are fantastic and creative! I especially like the winter margarita-that touch of vanilla is so amazing! read more

We were disappointed. Second time there and brought family of 5. Started with waiter spilling water on my napkin before I took it off the table and left a big puddle. He did not clean it up and I had to ask for a new napkin. My salad was very bitter and three of us tried it and did not like it. Waiter brought me the wrong beer and then asked if that was ok rather than get the beer I ordered. Mussels had a cracked shell that ruined a few and caused me to spit out the particles I did not see. The fries were bland and soggy. We have eaten all over the world and this restaurant seems like they're trying hard to be French and different but the food is sub par and service average. It is also expensive from a Saratoga perspective. We also really miss the character of Longfellows when compared to the stoic atmosphere of the Regent. Also no substitutions for meals at $50 plus and that lack of flexibility can across as odd. read more

Regent can be a bit inaccessible (from a price perspective) for most Cornell students but if you are a senior here, you should definitely try to go at least once to have some drinks and cheese platter on the patio - I graduated almost 4 years ago but still look back on those memories so fondly! It's not a typical student spot so it's a little less busy than Mac's or the other on-campus eateries. As an alum I've also come back here to eat and it's still great! Highly recommend. read more

I like their selections of cocktails and food. Most of the food selections are cooked to perfection, but the presentation could be slightly better. Also I do wish the pistachios in the chocolate pistachio cookies are crunchier. The prickly pear cocktail/mock tails might need more prickly pear flavor. But overall great place to have a drink and have some bites. They have the best fried chicken read more

Went here for the first time and this is definitely one of my favorite places in Ithaca! The setup was perfect, the food was amazing, and the service was impeccable. Definitely a go to spot to grab a drink and some late night food without having to go to a loud bar. Perfect for any type of crowd. I was shocked at how empty it was for a Saturday night, but it actually was nice because it was more of an intimate vibe. My husband goes to Cornell and he is a non-traditional student so we are a few years older than most. It was nice to find a place where it's not just loud college kids everywhere. I would definitely recommend this place to couples, older students, grad students, and young working professionals. We will be back! read more

Since it can be a bit hard to find, I'll preface by noting that The Regent is on the main floor of the upscale Statler Hotel in the heart of Cornell's campus. The atmosphere is very Ivy League, with a good mix of students, professors, and visitors staying at the Statler. They have a good selection of signature cocktails and a diverse wine list, most of which is very reasonably priced for an upscale cocktail bar (for simplicity, all bottles of wine are priced at $39, cocktails at $11, and beer pitchers at $19). Further, most of the food items available at Statler's renowned restaurant, Taverna Banfi, can be ordered down to the lounge as well (don't forget to ask for a bowl of the complementary, but very delicious Chex Mix). The service is very quick and friendly, with a good portion of the bartenders being students themselves. All in all, a cool experience for those looking for a quiet and intimate place to grab a drink in the middle of campus. read more

Decent cocktail bar at the Statler. We ducked in mostly because it was raining, and it was kind of cool to get a cocktail here, something I never could have done as a student, for a variety of reasons. I had the Bitter Suite (Michter's Rye, Amaro Nonino, and bitters) and it wasn't bad at all. The cocktails are made by students from the hotel school and the guy making our drinks was a friendly fellow. Pretty cool experience for them. read more

I love going to this bar!! It is a cool atmosphere where you can meet a wide variety of people from students to parents to professors and people staying at the hotel on business. It is this social atmosphere that helps make this a special place. This is a teaching bar which I like because the bartenders are well trained and they have a great list of creative drinks. And I am pleasantly surprised that the staff remembers me and always welcomes me back. It is clear that they really love what they do. I can't wait to go back! read more

This is Statler Hotel's bar/lounge, not to be confused with their full service Italian Restaurant, Banfi. The Regent Lounge serves salads, appetizers, burgers and sandwiches along with an extensive list of cocktails, wine, beer and liquor. Most sandwiches are around $15. This is an upscale lounge, conveniently located if you are on the Cornell campus and want to have a celebratory beer at a fairly classy, but still casual, location. The food, in my opinion, is actually executed better than Banfi. Nothing knocked my socks off but everything was cooked well. If you are mainly interested in drinks, they serve complimentary chex mix, but their sweet potato fries, served with chipotle aoli, are a very tasty upgrade for $6. The service can be hit or miss, as it's an educational experience for the Hotel students. My major complaint is that recently they removed their only vegan/vegetarian sandwich from the menu. It seems like a bad decision considering all the vegetarians in Ithaca. read more

Took me forever to visit here, but I am glad to know that there is another place within walking distance of Collegetown where you can get an upscale drink besides Stellas. Yes, its in the Statler, but its perfect for having a celebratory drink with a few close friends. Good selection of signature cocktails. I love regent! I am a student in the hotel school, and the Regent is a great place to come to relax or have a great meal. I also love coming here with friends for dinner. I recommend the truffle grilled cheese, as well as the burger (both are excellent)! Only complaint is that the service is slow, but the servers are mostly students who are very friendly! read more

After a long day of travel from California to Ithaca, we arrived at the Statler hotel tired and starving. We opted for a quick bite at the Regent Lounge and we were pleasantly surprised. The chairs and ambiance were especially welcoming and comfortable. The menu is unique and yet has something for everyone. The fried chicken sandwich was delicious and the turkey club was well balanced. What made the evening outstanding was the service -- we had purchased some desserts to have in our room after dinner but we needed milk for 3 people and the lobby kiosk was already closed. Not wanting to go out in the cold late in the evening (no rental car), we ask Frank for advice. He brought our bill and a small metal carafe of yummy COLD milk for a small fee on our dinner bill. Way to go above and beyond Frank Tomson! 10 stars! The Regent cocktail/beverage menu is outstanding as well. read more
