I really like the matcha, a bit on the sweeter side but I really enjoy. Service is great!

We went on a Monday, so it was completely empty, which only made it feel more like a secret hideaway for people who appreciate a little offbeat charm. Definitely the kind of place you stumble into and think, "Yeah, this is where the interesting people hang out." Would I come back? Absolutely -- preferably on a night where there's more life, and maybe I'll finally try the kava :)

I came here looking for tea, ended up learning about and trying kava!…read more If you haven't had kava before, it's a root that's powdered up and served as a drink. It has calming properties that help people be more social similar to alcohol but without the negative effects. It does taste pretty bitter and it has a numbing sensation (similar to sichuan peppercorns) so their flavored options are recommended for first-timers. The apple cider version was pretty good. I did feel the effect, but did I love it? Honestly, not sure. It felt a bit weird. But even if I decide not to try kava again, their tea was also really good and the owner is a super nice and interesting guy. People who come here are looking for something different, so give it a shot! The inside definitely looks like it used to be an elk's lounge or something. But overall, it's a chill and relaxed space with good vibes.

Great spot for dinner in Ithaca! I love the house-made desserts!…read more I tried the mussels for appetizer which were very good. Not too heavy or salty. For mains I tried the vodka gnocchi and the cod stew. Both were excellent! I think if I were to return I would get the cod stew though- it is much more unique. Only complaint about the gnocchi is I wish there was more cheese on top. Desserts were divine! I love how they display them all on the table by the fireplace! We tried the pumpkin cake and the poppyseed coconut almond cake. I truly don't think I could pick a favorite. I wish the whipped cream was also homemade though. I came for dinner on a weekend night (with reservations). Service was solid. Overall, I would return! I will definitely be coming back to try their brunch!

Menu options are the…read morestandard fare of breakfast foods - variations of eggs (Benedict and omelettes), potato, toast, and sausage for savory options, and pancakes, waffles, and cakes for those with a sweet tooth. Lunch options are mostly sandwiches. Our waitress Mary suggested a lemon bundt style cake for us as a special, and while it wasn't "special", it was a simple yet delightful way to whet our appetites. I ordered the Ploughman's Lunch, which was a hearty portion of all of the above savory options. Filling, but not immoderate, paying respect to the original traditional English meal. Staff was amiable and helpful. Prices, while not necessarily cheap, were quite fair (although I wouldn't trust their online prices). Reservations are recommended. I'd happily return for another try.

Tibetan Momo Bar - Pork momos

In fact, when visiting Nepalese relatives both in Nepal and in various U.S. cities, we often have "momo making parties." So, we HAD TO try this restaurant when we discovered it in the food court of the Center Ithaca complex, just off the Ithaca Commons. For those who aren't familiar with momos, they're similar to Chinese dumplings or Korean mandu. Food. The server told us that he had just made fresh beef momos, so we ordered one plate (8 pieces, $11) and a plate of Chinese noodles with chicken and mixed vegetables ($12). Overall, we'd rate the food as 3/5, acceptable for a quick meal but not outstanding. The momos were of a nice size, but the outer shell was quite thick and doughy, and the filling lacked the complex spices (ginger, garlic, etc.) to which we were accustomed. They were served with a mass-produced spicy-looking red chili sauce that really wasn't too spicy. Traditionally, momo would've been served with a homemade tomato achar. The noodles dish featured lo mein noodles, tasty and plentiful teriyaki? chicken, and a few pieces of cabbage. We were disappointed that there weren't more vegetables, especially as our dish had far fewer vegetables than the promotional photo of the dish. Service. We visited the food court on a Wednesday afternoon around 1 pm. Upon approaching this restaurant's counter, we weren't sure if they were open as there were no staff in sight. We called out and the sole employee came to take our order and to prepare our food. Ambiance. The food court is in the inviting in the Ithaca Center. The area is light, airy, and clean -- with a nice variety of foods to choose from, such as Indian, Jamaican, Tibetan, Chinese, and more.

The momos were juicy and tender but could use a bit more flavor in the filling and/or sauce. The hapayaki rice dish was more oily, however, and had a spicy mayo-type sauce on top? Despite this, it wasn't bad. The portions were also very generous. Overall, it's a decent place and would recommend to try when browsing at the market.
