We decided to try a local eatery for lunch while visiting the Museum of Glass, passing up the museum cafe. My wife was pleased by her sushi/sashimi combination, and I was happy with the Thai-style ginger chicken. Unfortunately, the salad hat came with my wife's dish was very disappointing: wilted greens, and a gloppy dressing. I was craving soup and sushi and this was the perfect place to get it. They have street parking and parking at the back of the restaurant. The service was amazing! I couldn't decide on what to eat so I went with the General Tso's Chicken Dinner Bento Box and it was the perfect choice. It came with a choice of soup or salad, I got the Onion Soup,Chicken, White Rice, California Rolls, and 2 Vegetable Spring Rolls. It was very filling! I visited here a few months ago. Had the worst and most traumatizing experience eve!! I met up with someone from church who invited my son and I here. I mentioned to the waitress that we're vegan and expected my food to reflect just that. Nope. There was a tofu lunch item I ordered from the menu. Apparently "spring and california rolls," that came with it. I've never had or was familiar with the c. rolls. However the waitress knew that this item had some kind of seafood material in it and should've put in reqjest to make it "vegan friendly," or said somethin. We started eating it and that's when I felt this unpleasant texture in my mouth as I began to chew. I spit it out and said to the person I was with "this is crab." Called for the waitress who didn't seem apologetic or empathetic in any way. i completely lost my appetite and stopped my kid from eating. I eventually left and got on the road and within minutes developed an allergic reaction as I have a shellfish allerg. Went to the nearest urgent care and it goes on. Thanks to Jesus I'm alive till this day my son 4yoa then, didn't develop any reactions as a vegan. The menu and staff neglected their responsibility and that info. I DO NOT recommend to anyone especially those that follow a conscience health base diet and or clean according to Biblical standards of The Bible. In my case I am doing both. This is definitely grounds for a major law suit but I chose God's way, pray and leave them in His hands. Jesus saves and He heals/protects. To the restaurant please be more kind to ALL, not selective and more aware of your customers' needs. read more

On the recommendation of some family members we decided to try Wild Ginger. Upon entering our large party was accommodated very quickly. Despite the very busy night our server was very attentive. I really like the Asian fusion they have on the menu and decided to order a few appetizers to share with our group to try some of my favorites like the Crab Rangoon and the scallion pancake. I decided to get the General Tso's Bento box. An excellent choice which comes with a choice of soup or salad. The food also came quickly. I really didn't notice a gap between our appetizers soups and salads and then the main dishes. With such a large menu I can definitely see coming back and try several of the different combinations. I've only been about 37 times now, so I'm not sure if I'm qualified to review this place, but I have to say that overall we're happy with it. Depending on who you ask in my family, it's known for different things. It's Chinese (Fujianese?) owned and run, as with many, if not most, fusion and sushi restaurants in the U.S. And, they do a good job at it. Would I order everything here? Well, no. The bento boxes are acceptable. The "hibachi" is a pass. And the MaPo Tofu is a bit too watery. However, nearly everything else belongs toward top marks for the region. The Thai foods are are done well. Singapore Mei Fun? Fantastic. Sushi? Cheaper and lightyears better than Wegmans a block away. I'll take this over Horseheads or Elmira for sushi. And the service is great and the restaurant is clean with a nice atmosphere! Everyone seems to be kind and accommodating. We'll keep going back. read more

The best Singapore Mei Fe I've ever had. Large shrimp with tender pieces of chicken, crunchy vegetables and the sauce has a bit of heat which adds to the complexity of the sauce. PF Changs' Singapore mei fe had tiny shrimp and was over sauced. Which was case of other places where I have tried this dish. Anytime I'm in Corning, except on Tuesday when they are closed, I have lunch here. I highly recommend this dish at Wild Ginger. read more

We found Wild Ginger to be a very pleasant surprise in Corning, which has a wide range of choices, from fast food and pizza to high-end and perhaps pretentious restaurants. To be candid, after trying a few other places, our default had become the take-out section at the local Wegman's. Our party of four ordered all over the menu, from bento boxes to sushi rolls to an order of lo mein to Thai-style tofu dish. Everybody liked what they had, and without going into much detail, our judgment is that with this (high) quality of food and low prices, this place would be a hit in the Bay Area. Personally, I'm skeptical about so-called fusion, but my order of three sushi rolls (tuna, spicy tuna, eel and avocado) and plenty of extra ginger, very tasty and nicely presented, was a steal at $19.95. Those who odered bento boxes and a plate of lo mein were also happy. And my $7 hot sake turned out to be a large one. Plus, of course, it's clean, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the service was friendly. In short, if we lived anywhere near Corning, this would be one of our top choices. read more

Was intrigued by a review that said they even though they served different types of cuisine, that it wasn't a fusion restaurant as they are kept distinct. It's true. We ordered a couple of bento lunch sets, a salmon teriyaki and an udon soupi. While my bento had a classic Chinese entree - beef with broccol, it was accompanied by well-made California rolls (yes!) and a miso soup with Japanese kelp. The miso soup was a little thin in body. The Thai basil chicken bento had more other vegetables than one would normally find in Thailand, but the marinade/ sauce tasted right. The salmon teriyaki and udon soup were good, too. The Thai iced tea was less sweet and milky (evaporated milk) than we were used to in Thailand, but likely healthier, too. All in all, it was a good, solid experience and we would be happy to come again on our next visit. read more

My family were visiting from MD and kinda craving for chinese, so We ordered a take out for about $113, n we asked for extra chopsticks, the waitress literally giving my husband attitude n said something in chinese (fuzhounese) which my husband understand then she just threw the extra chopsticks into the carry-out bag with a very nasty look at my husband . Like seriously?!! Is tht how you treat ur customers?? How much are those extra chopsticks cost?! We were thinking to comeback for the next day but after this, NOPE! Never coming back!! Ok sushi at an unreasonable price. I ordered the spicy salmon roll and the vegetarian dragon roll (sweet potato tempura roll). The spicy salmon roll was ok, the fish wasn't particularly fresh and had a mushy texture. The sweet potato roll tasted good, but was missing the crunch I look for in most tempura sweet potato rolls I've ordered. The rice was seasoned well. I wouldn't recommend sushi here unless you're really craving it as it is rather expensive for the quality you get. read more

The waitress did not seem very social but she did her job well. The bathrooms are a single man's and a single woman's. I tried several times to use the men's room but someone was always in there so I had to use the ladies. Overall a good restaurant but I wouldn't say perfect. I ordered a simple Wan Ton soup and my wife ordered veggie egg roll. Both sucked!!!! There was no fill in the egg roll! Nothing but wrapper for my wife. My won ton soup was tasteless!!! I had to season the soup at home. The won tons were the size of golf balls (I'm used to fist size). I will never go back!! We went here on September 28, 2024. WE have been there before visiting Corning. WE were very upset with the lack of service that made the meal unpleasant. We were seated at 5PM on a Saturday night with our grandson. We received our drinks and they took our order. We were seated right in front of the cash register, service station and could not be missed. My wife's salad had only a few lettuce leaves and dressing,. Nothing else. We received our meals and then left alone for the entire time. I called for the waitress several times as she walked by and I was totally ignored. We wanted our drinks refilled and a little extra dipping sauce. We received nothing. When we finished, I had to stand up to get there attention just to get the bill to pay so we could leave. That took forever as well. They either need more waiters/waitresses or they need to clean up their act. Ignoring customer's simple requests will make us not come back and that's a shame. read more

I ordered take out for my family of four (two younger kids). Really happy with everything. We shared three bento dinners and there was more than enough food, could have split two and been fine. Sorry no photos. We ordered two salmon teriyaki and one shrimp tempera. Each bento dinner included choice of salad or miso soup (salad dressing was yummy ginger dressing but mostly iceberg lettuce), two fried spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce, white rice, and six small pieces of California roll. The tempura shrimp included three pieces of shrimp tempura as well as three pieces of veggie tempura (kabocha squash, taro root I think, and sweet potato). The salmon was nice and included some broccoli and baby corn and carrot. Really hit the spot and just a great value. Kids were happy as there was so much variety they found plenty to eat and none of the food was spicy. read more
