Ate here for the first time last night based on it seems being the best reviewed Chinese in town. Overall, it was pretty good- I'll agree with what others have said in that the portion size was immense. Could've fed two pretty easily. The food itself was also good, not gourmet level, but 'Chinese takeout with overhead counter pictures' of the dishes good. Pricewise, I suppose it wasn't awful, but over $15 out the door for one of the combo menus, which is unfortunately, at this point, probably the lowest Chinese food price in town. We were set to eat at another Chinese restaurant, but a recent review complained of food poisoning (you never know if it's accurate), so we ended up here for take out. Figured it was Americanized Chinese food, so we stuck with "safe" choices. Unfortunately, it left a lot to be desired and ended up throwing most of it out. Beef teriyaki (inedible) and the Egg rolls were so dried out. Sweet and sour chicken was a huge portion of smallish battered pieces with a thick bright red sauce (no pineapple or veggies). Noted a price online but was charged 6$ more once order was picked up. Ordered shrimp egg foo yong which unfortunately was dripping with grease and gave me gi problems for three days after. Unfortunate to get sick after eating this- is it due to the seafood not being fresh? Or due to the almost black pool of grease surrounding the food? read more

But the General Tao chicken was mostly small pieces like it was the end of the bag and they were hard. there was also very little sauce on them and very little heat for a "spicy" meal. the other items we ordered, veg lo mein, beef and scallops and pork lo mein were good. read more

We wanted another Chinese restaurant but it was closed so we decided to order take out from here. The portions are big but it tastes horrible. I had the chicken and cashew meal and the chicken tasted like its been sitting out for a month and half and the rice that came with it was disgusting. The rice was so inconsistent. The best thing about this place was the portion size. Fairly generous servings for the lunch specials at least. That's all that I can think of for positives. Its like a bad version of panda express. Not authentic at all. I tried the sichuan chicken dish which was meant to be "spicy" but this was not spicy at all. It was just really salty. Also the veggies that they added were clearly from a frozen packet (even came with those mini corns that you only get in frozen veggies). Came with a soup which was also extremely salty, and did not taste fresh. I ended up not really touching the soup. Service fairly friendly. Parking lot is not big. Accepts credit. read more

Let's start off on just saying that out of all the Chinese restaurants that has been in town an compared to what is in town I'd give a 5 outta ten rate, food is good I'll start off on that they also serve you like they are feeding the army lol but not complaining about that can honestly say the tables every time I eat there they feel sticky idk could be me but just doesn't seem right but the downside is that the prices are crazy for what you get but at the end of the day I'd definitely eat here read more

Located right near the entrance of the park, this place is easily walkable. The interior is sparse, but very neat and clean. Their lunch specials were a pretty good deal--each order comes with a soup of choice and portions were very generous. Service was speedy and our foods came out piping hot. They also have hot water and complimentary tea bags for those who are here during cooler months. Definitely a worthy stop for your after hike hunger. This Chinese joint is right near downtown Watkins Glen. I was visiting the Seneca Harbour park, on my way back, I decided to stop here and give it a shot. The portion is pretty big. They really do pack it in the box. Now price wise, I'd say it's a bit higher than say establishments in Corning. I did a takeout, speed was average. The inside of the restaurant looked clean, you can definitely eat there or do a takeout, there are a good number of tables inside. I ordered the vegetable mei fun, it was a bit saltier than I'd like. But the mei fun was cooked well, it wasn't all broken up like most places. I also got the shrimp lo mein, which had very good flavor. The shrimp was a good sized shrimp, wasn't jumbo sized, but it was definitely big enough that you can recognize it was shrimp, unlike the foreign objects other Chinese joints use. read more

Tried the shrimp lo mein and that was not good too. First time ever we threw away all the food and got Taco Bell instead since that was our only choice left. But you won't be disappointed by their delicious, freshly cooked fare. As we were leaving Watkins Glen State Park, we saw this Chinese place. It turned out to be a nice surprise. The lunch special portion is huge. The white rice is not your average rice, it has a nice coconut oil flavor. Even the fried rice that comes with the meal is fresh, not mushy nor dried up like other take out place. read more

This very clean Chinese restaurant I have seen so far. Nice job folks, keep it like this and you will go places. About the food, we ordered, lunch combo with schezwan chicken with fried rice WITHOUT pork they accommodated the request. Their lunch specials are not pre-cooked, that's great. We also ordered broccoli in garlic sauce & Veg Fried rice. Requested both to be double spicy. They made it really good as requested it was spicy. Their portion size is very good. We couldn't complete the food a decided to take it with us and we had it for dinner. After a long trekking in Watkins glen gorge trails lucky star was a good find and it is very close as well.
