Looking online we thought this was a dine in Chinese Restaurant. It has the room for that and some seating available, but no table service. Basically it is a take out place and you can pick up your food at the counter and eat there if you want. Most of the tables and chairs are stacked up around the room and it makes for an unwelcoming environment if you are looking to dine in. Since we were passing through town we chose to sit there and quickly eat. The food was pretty good. We ordered a couple appetizers and a couple entrees to share. The Crab Rangoon was very good and we had leftovers to bring home. Not sure why, but later that night my stomach was not feeling well and that was the only food I had that day. American "Chinese" cuisine is all over the map. I know once should not have high expectations in rural upstate New York. This is a take out restaurant with a large area with table and chairs for waiting while they prep your order. We ordered two Szechuan dishes, a pepper steak and a pint of hot and sour soup. The soup had lots of mushrooms but few other vegetables or tofu. The stock had a bit of pepper but no vinegar thus not sour. The pepper steak had a good amount of meat, but it was quite chewy. The brown sauce was tasteless. The Szechuan shrimp and the General Tso's Chicken were likewise without any recognizable flavor. Dropped my youngest daughter at Hobart & Williams Smith college this weekend. As I have mentioned before, I adore really authentic cuisine, especially Asian, but occasionally I get a craving for Americanized Chinese food. I feel slightly less guilty about this culinary weakness after hosting a Chinese student a few years ago. She and her classmates were very excited to try the food at our local Chinese restaurant. They loved the experience and were very amused at what we considered Chinese food. Man Yuan is an excellent place for an inexpensive and satisfying meal. The service was attentive, the portions were excellent, the price was very reasonable and the food was good basic Chinese food. We were simply impressed with the quality of food from Man Yuan! The fried rice was good, not too salty. The Lo Mein was also delicious, the noodles with just right. We just got a delivery order, it was plentiful and very good. Some of the best food I've had from an Asian place.

We were staahving as we rolled into Geneva late, and I spotted this place. I don't know how old the restaurant is, but I'm always instantly attracted to vintage Chinese restaurants for some reason. They serve a variety of Asian food, including Thai. So the Thai is what we gravitated to. I ordered the American/Thai staple, pad Thai with chicken, and she ordered the yellow curry. Mine was good, but more on the Chinese flavored side of things with a sauce that was a little overly sweet, but with a fish sauce undercurrent. There were no bean sprouts and very few other vegetables. Hers was "adequate", lacking any bite and the vegetables in it were more Chinese than Thai; instead of pineapple and beans there were mushrooms and carrots. So we got Door Dash tonight, 12-2-23, as we always do from here, and I just have to say that tonight was overly exceptional!! OMG! The chicken in all of our dishes, General Tso's, Orange Chicken, and Sesame Chicken, was so perfect I had to finally write a review up. I should mention I have been meaning to write this since my second order. So back to the Chicken... perfect crispness with an insane flavor tonight for all 3 dishes! The Pork Fried Rice was on point tonight! Pork perfect flavor perfect! Beef Lo Mein flavor off the charts tonight! The White Rice is always cooked correctly and its only white rice, but I thought I should include that even that tasted exceptionally good tonight. Your always pretty great, but tonight was like getting a 100% and doing all the extra credit just to show off and get a 105%.... it was just insane. Should have took a few snaps before we dug in, but we will update next time. Unbelievable!! Thanks for the many meals we've already eaten and the many, many more we eventually will! read more

NOT WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY The only reason I gave 2 stars is because their food is so dang good, especially the Pad Thai and garlic egg plant. However there are other major things that cause to give a 1 star rating, and all of it recent. Several week ends ago, I was VERY upset at one of the staff. I ordered a favorite, Pad Thai, she said that it was not ready, and I needed to use the men's room urgently, so I asked where it was. (I had been there several times before, so I simply requested for her to open the door so that I could walk back through the restaurant. Haughtily, she said the rest rooms were for customers only. I was livid, and raised my voice saying that I am a customer so let me use the restroom. She directed me outside and around to the restrooms in the rear. The mens room had a sign on it saying it was out of order, so I used the women's room. A few minutes later, she knocked on the door and handed me paper towels because there were none in the restroom. If there are two broken down restrooms in one small restaurant, I have legitimate concerns about the hygiene of the kitchen. Today, Mother's day, my wife wanted to go there. They have two aluminum front doors each about 28 inches wide, by the left door had a sign on it saying "Please use the other door." My wife's wheel chair is 31 inches wide, so we could not get in the restaurant, no matter what we tried to do. It was a most unpleasant experience. Because the restaurant had two broken restrooms and because the front doors are also inadequate for wheelchair entry, I will make a copy of this, sending it to the health department, and the Center for Disability Rights. Since the Civil Rights Act was passed in 1973, and later amended (1996?) persons in wheel chairs must have equal access to public buildings, and Man Yuan restaurant surely is not in compliance with that, and I have concerns about seemingly violating NYS health code rules. Yes, they were hit hard by Covid-19 but that does not give them the right to have unsanitary situations at their place of business. Caveat emptor. read more

Service was prompt, pleasant and price was reasonable, however, the food quality was definitely lacking. Sesame chicken tasted as if it had been made previously and reheated. This place is very reasonable and friendly. It was a nice sit down meal with a quiet atmosphere. We ordered the gyoza, Indian dumplings, and fried wontons for an app.. they were all pretty good. I enjoyed my meal, shrimp lo mein. My two friends that came with me did not like their meals. One got yellow curry and I tried it and didn't think it was that great. My other friend got a shrimp habachi and didn't care for her meal but Myself and my other friend felt it was alright. The food here is so good, cheap, and decently sized. It's great for families ordering takeout or for people who want different things because they have Thai food, Chinese food, and hibachi to choose from. I ordered some takeout from here a week ago because of the excellent reviews on Yelp, and we had to order again this week because I was craving it so badly. I personally love the pad Thai - Geneva, to my knowledge, hasn't had a place where you can get good Thai food in a long time so I was super excited to try this place and it did not disappoint. It's delicious, and a good portion size as well. Other family members tried the Lo Mein, Sesame Chicken, and Hibachi and they loved it all. The vegetables provided in each meal are so incredibly fresh compared to other Asian takeout in this area. The chicken is actually real meat, which should be a given but unfortunately it's not around here. My dad couldn't get over the fact that the Sesame Chicken was composed of good sized, white meat chicken pieces and not some grey, tough to chew, mostly batter little nuggets. If you've ever had the chicken at Ling Ling, you know what I'm talking about and you would love the quality of the food at this place. They also include free egg rolls for orders of $25 or more, and an extra order of Sesame Chicken on orders of $40 or more! read more

My family and I have eaten from here 3 times as of this review and we love it! If you live in town and have always gotten Chinese food from Main Moon, give this place a try. The food is immensely better. The vegetables taste fresh, the sauces are delicious and don't taste like mostly grease, and the meat, I can tell, is not reconstituted dried meat as Main Moon's is. They have a nice little Thai selection with a great pad thai and pineapple fried rice (our favorites as of now). The service is spectacular. They have a deal if you spend more than $40 you get a free sesame chicken order. I had forgot to mention this one time on the phone, but when I went to pick it up, the girl said she put it in the bag anyway because my order was over $40. I was very impressed. If I had to pick a down side, it would be that they don't deliver. The food however, makes up for the fact you have to go get it (that's saying a lot concerning me). It has never taken more than 20 minutes for our order to be ready, anyway. Very different from a 1 - 1 1/2 hour wait from Main Moon. You CAN dine in, but we have not done so yet.
