NO!!! All I wanted was shrimp fried rice. We ordered as take out and live 3 minutes away. This is the worst I have ever had. The shrimp was okay, but the fried rice was gummy, sticky and tasted like gummy minute rice that they cooked first and then tried to fry it. It also had very large cubes of onion that was NOT fried so it was very crunchy like they added it after everything was cooked. Bad...never again. read more

Hit or miss. Some things were good, others not so much. The egg rolls were tasty and the hot and sour soup was quite flavorful, though much more sour than hot. Could use an extra bit of heat to balance it out (or any considering there was no heat whatsoever). The garlic green beans and moo shu were also good. The fried rice was a gummy tasteless mess while the beef and broccoli was bland and chewy. Would be willing to give them another chance. read more

The Corning Museum of glass is definitely worth a stop if you're in upstate New York or in the Corning area. You could just go to the gift store and buy a glass decoration or you can take a glass making class and get the same thing that was made by your own hands for almost exactly the same price. We were in town overnight and needed a quick and inexpensive-ish dinner. I ordered online and it was ready in 20 mins. When I got there, I realized I'd ordered sesame vegetarian chicken (made with soy) instead of sesame chicken. Before I dared even ask them, the woman offered to have the correct dish made and it was quickly done. They were so kind to do that! They even charged me the lesser amount some sesame chicken isn't as expensive. The portions were great and my family was satisfied. We would definitely order from them again. read more

The best shrimp chow mein I have ever had. Tons of greens, tons of shrimp, decent size shrimp and fresh and firm. I have dietary restrictions and they always get it right. Quality of ingredients is higher than most Asian style eateries. Quite delicious. read more

Corning Class is OK, but I wouldn't go back and I strongly discourage you from 'dining in' (like I did, once) because it's not the cleanest place, and the restaurant area in the rear, while expansive with lots of tables, is 'ick'. As far as food goes, I've had better: the sesame chicken doesn't use the standard chicken you get in most chinese restaurants and I wouldn't be surprised to learn it was a frozen chik'n bi-product; the fried rice isn't brown rice that's fried, it's boiled white rice colored with sazon, then overcooked (probably most of the day) in a rice cooker then slapped into a dish without ever seeing the inside of a wok; the fried dumplings were a disappointment because they were just steamed dumplings that were tossed around a pan quick to give them a slight char. I also thought the food was over-priced for what you get, and for an owner-operated establishment, they service left much to be desired: the staff wasn't very welcoming and almost seem to avoid ever looking up towards the register from the kitchen. Honestly, I got the impression they resented the customer and hated having to cook our "american version" of their beloved chinese food. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but when I do its to give credit where credit is due. I'm from central Jersey where there is plenty of Chinese restaurants. Not to mention I'm Chinese and have had Chinese food all my life. Durrr, lol. Anyhow, wherever I end up staying for an extended amount of time, I always have to look for the best Chinese place I can in order to get my fix. Now Corning Class serves mainly Americanized takeout food with a couple of authentic dishes (i.e soup noodles). There's nothing wrong with takeout food when it is well executed and that is what Corning Class does. Better taste and better value compared to the other Chinese options in the vicinity. I'm not gonna go into detail on all the dishes. In general, the meats are always tender, flavorful, and with a good meat-veggie ratio. I will comment on my go to dish for any Chinese restaurant though, which is hot and sour soup. You might say, "Hot & Sour Soup? I can't take you seriously now." Unknown to many people, hot and sour soup is something you can find in almost any Chinese restaurant whether it is a takeout place in a small town to a fine dining Chinese restaurant in a big city, even sometimes in China itself. That serves as a good benchmark to compare restaurants. It can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be. It gives you an idea whether one takes pride in their food or whether they're just writing it off as a complimentary soup. What Corning class does is pay attention to the details. It's not necessarily highly refined like a fine dining restaurant, but more of a comforting, soulful response. Like good chowder or chicken noodle. What I appreciate the most is that they have all the ingredients that a h&s soup person is looking for. It has the bamboo, tofu, and mushrooms, but most importantly it has pieces of pork and scallions. Oftentimes people skimp on those last two and don't even put them in, but it really is a subtlety that only someone that thinks through their cooking can appreciate. Now aside from the food, yes, at first they do not always greet you with a bubbly, sunshine smile. It kind of threw me off at first too. It feels like all business. Just order and get it done with. If you've been there enough times like me though, they are actually quite nice after some time. All I have to say is, stop being so sensitive, let it roll off your back, evaluate the food for what it is and not your desire to be butt-kissed and you might just find yourself pleasantly surprised. read more

A better name for this place would Corning CLASSLESS! My husband and I (along with my service dog) spent an enjoyable day exploring Corning. We decided on Asian food for dinner and followed GPS to this location. What transpired inside the establishment was their refusal to serve us because of my service dog. When I pulled out my information sheet explaining what a service dog is and the laws pertaining to it, the woman behind the counter refused to read the information, and kept stating, 'I don't know...I don't know...' And, from there, she snatched the can of soda I'd requested back off the counter and turned away. I have encountered a lot of ignorance and bad behavior regarding my service dog, but, this was, by far, the worst I've ever seen. It didn't make one iota of difference to them that refusing to serve us was in direct violation of federal law. If you have the unfortunate situation of having a disability and would actually appreciate good service for your money, don't bother coming here. read more

This is our favorite place to get Chinese food here in Corning. However, make sure you have a back up plan for dinner. It tastes more like Chinese food then the other restaurants in Corning. It almost becomes the sole choice for us on weekends. The spicy beef noodle is delicious. However, there are some repetition on the menu, for example, pepper steak tastes the same to garlic beef. read more

Corning Class's food is fantastic, but what takes it over the top is how fresh and healthy it is! The vegetables are cooked perfectly (nothing soggy here!) and the food tastes flavorful, not greasy. They do a great job with special orders, too: when I was on a restrictive diet, they were glad to make me a dish that fit my diet restrictions. They offer brown or white rice (fried, too, of course), and, best of all, they have fried spring rolls! Not the thick-as-a-burrito egg rolls (though they have those too) that are so ubiquitous in our area, but thin, perfectly crisp, spring rolls. Yum! read more
