Cheaper than other dining options in town. The mei fun was good but lo mein very greasy. Completely blah service. I guess i would come back only if i feel like i need a friday night takeout, otherwise, nothing special

Fried pork dumplings, which were more steamed than fried and disappointing.

Corning Class is OK, but I wouldn't go back and I strongly discourage you from 'dining in' (like I did, once) because it's not the cleanest place, and the restaurant area in the rear, while expansive with lots of tables, is 'ick'. As far as food goes, I've had better: the sesame chicken doesn't use the standard chicken you get in most chinese restaurants and I wouldn't be surprised to learn it was a frozen chik'n bi-product; the fried rice isn't brown rice that's fried, it's boiled white rice colored with sazon, then overcooked (probably most of the day) in a rice cooker then slapped into a dish without ever seeing the inside of a wok; the fried dumplings were a disappointment because they were just steamed dumplings that were tossed around a pan quick to give them a slight char. I also thought the food was over-priced for what you get, and for an owner-operated establishment, they service left much to be desired: the staff wasn't very welcoming and almost seem to avoid ever looking up towards the register from the kitchen. Honestly, I got the impression they resented the customer and hated having to cook our "american version" of their beloved chinese food.

When I got there, I realized I'd ordered sesame vegetarian chicken (made with soy) instead of sesame chicken.

$7.95 V13. Sesame Chicken

I can't speak regarding service or ambience since we did takeout and I tend to try my best to…read moresupport Asian businesses as a fellow Asian but it's telling when this is supposed to be one of the best Asian restaurants in this town and it's subpar. The sushi at the Wegmans in Corning is so much better quality ...but I don't think that should be the norm. We eat rice nearly everyday so we can tell the rice that was being used for or pickup order was not fresh. For that quality it was too expensive. Pretty disappointed.

Recently, Oka Asian Food has popped up at the former Mexican Restaurant site. Seeing this restaurant near the Radisson Corning Hotel makes very convenient for me. It has been open for five months at the time of my visit. So, I have tried to check this restaurant out. I wound need to form my complete opinion about his restaurant after few more visit. But, I give four stars now. The decor is not ultra Asian, understandable because of the former Mexican ambiance. I don't mind that. I was greeted immediate upon entering the restaurant by two servers with smile. A good sign for the none-Japanese owned place. At 1:00 PM on Wednesday, I saw there were some table occupied by Asian clientele. (We all try to support the new Asian restaurant.) First, negative. The servier brought a cup of green tea, slightly warm. The green tea should be served hot. The server spilled the tea, but did not bother to wipe the table. (A little thing, but add to experience.) Then, Miso Soup came in ice cold bowl. Really unpleasant! The soup itself was good with plenty of wakame and tofu, and tasted authentic. I ordered Lunch Bento Box with Salmon Teriyaki. Nicely presented, but Teriyaki was too sweet, not the authentic Japanese teriyaki. The rice was dried up. Have you forgot to cover the rice pot in the kitchen? It accompanied by a California roll. I give it three stars. The Wegman's is better. (I still think Wegman's Sushi is good.) I might be over critical, because I am a Japanese, used work in a highend Japanese restaurant, Hakata, in Los Angeles. So, definitely, you should try this restaurant and form your own opinion. All in all, food is tasty. I will definitely come back to this restaurant to try other dishes including Ramen. The manger, May, is very pleasant. It is my deepest wish that this restaurant will be open for a long time.
