The food is more expensive than most diners I've been to, and there were eggshells in my wrap!!! That's a huge sensory ICK for me, and I really don't want to pay for my wrap now. Sucks that I have to. Because I can't even finish the wrap as intended. Also the food Took a long time, about 30 minutes which is a long time compared to past diner experiences. We haven't stopped here in years, so glad they are still open! It's much brighter inside than I remember - vivid paint colors - with booths and tables, high chairs if you need them too. The entrance is a steep ramp but doable for a walker or wheelchair (maybe with assistance). Bathrooms are gender-specific, but one at a time so really either could be used if there is a line. We were seated promptly, staff brought drinks, and the team was quickly cleaning up tables and checking the bathrooms while we were there. It was not crowded for a rainy Saturday lunchtime, but that was okay because aisle our food came out very quickly after we ordered. Kim took good care of us and checked on us twice. We had tea which came with an extra pot of hot water, and Kim still offered us more hot water! My Greek omelette was fluffy and delicious. Lots of feta and tomato inside! Hubby eggs were over medium (instead of easy) but still good. Lots of potatoes for each of us and neither of us finished them or the toast (choice of white, wheat, rye & sourdough). Great for breakfast or lunch. Huge portions - pancakes are full plate size (about 10") so 2 were plenty. Can add on sides (e.g , bacon etc) to main entrees for less than the a la carte cost. I had 2 pancakes and 2 eggs with a side of bacon. One pancake was slightly overcooked on one side but that was the only dowside. Sandwiches we saw at other tables were huge. Happened to be passing through the area on a road trip with 5 friends on a Tuesday afternoon. Of course, we could always stop at a McDonald's any day, but how often do you get to try a local, quirky spot? We were greeted warmly, sat quickly, and our food and drinks came shortly after. We had a fairly large group and the waitress was more than patient with us taking our time and looking over the menu. The food was classic diner comfort foods, and everything came out exactly as ordered. Fries were crisp and delicious, clubs were a good size, and everyone was pretty happy with their meals. It's no Michelin star restaurant, but this is Painted Post, NY we're talking about. The food is solid and affordable. Definite banger of a restaurant in the surrounding Corning area. Crowded when we arrived however we were sat within ten minutes from arriving. I went with an item I never had before the Irish Benny. This item is poached eggs, cheddar cheese melted, corned beef, on an English muffin. Really was spectacular in flavor and very fulling. The girlfriend went with the sausage, egg, and cheese which was accompanied with a side of Pico De Gallo. There was a lot of I want to say garlic flavoring throughout the sandwich. Perhaps a little too much flavoring, maybe this was a one off or the pico was overly seasoned. The service was exceptional and the food hit the spot. Affordable and quick. One of my favorite places to grab breakfast in the extended Corning area. Always busy when we visit but the wait staff are very quick and attentive. They are quick to fill your coffee cup which is one of the things I look for. Breakfast and brunch are great options. We started with sharing a cinnamon roll warmed up with our coffee and chocolate milk. Pancakes, omelettes, frittatas are all represented. Today I decided on having some eggs over easy, toast, corn beef hash and home fries. I really like their home fries they have the right balance of crisp outside and tender warm inside. I would only add onion but that's a personal preference for me. Never a bad experience here! read more

I had not been here for years, so was a bit unsure what to expect. But my wife on a recommendation from a friend suggested we try it for breakfast. We were heading from our lake house to our main house, so this was pretty much on the way. We were promptly seated, although we did ask for another table away from a small infant. No problem. Our server made a couple of suggestions, which we both heeded. She said the omelettes are amazing, and they are! My wife had the vegetarian and I had the Denver. Both came with home fries and toast. We each had coffee as well. The place had a good feel to it. Looked like some regular clientele were in there. All in all, a wonderful experience. More food than we could eat, but not so much that we didn't come to close to finishing it all. We'll definitely come back here. That is the best recommendation. read more

Came with my family after getting a christmas tree, it was 2pm, they close at 8pm. There was 7 of us, we come here every year after tree shopping. The waitress asked how many people we'd have, we said 7 and she rolled her eyes, yelled out to the cooks "guess what just walked in, a 7 top". Came her multiple times during my visit to Corning and I am not dissapointed. The food was decently priced and the portions were huge. My parents who are very picky really enjoyed the breakfast. The only thing I would say is that the food is on the salty side (which my parents enjoyed as they were there for the marathon). Came to this place because we were looking for a place with indoor dining during the pandemic. And in November of 2020 there were still a few. The place is not a fancy restaurant but the breakfast is solid and filling with all the flair and niceties of the local diner. Kids enjoyed their pancakes, we have enjoyed the omelets and it was nice to see a place that was busy during all the nastiness of the COVID it was fun to see smiles on people's faces. Arrived alone at exactly 7:35 pm and was told (rather emphatically) that I could only order to go because "the restaurant was closing in 15 minutes." Let's again keep in mind that this wasn't a party of six arriving 5 minutes before closing time...I was one guy arriving 25 minutes before close who just wanted a hamburger. Got my burger and ate in my car and left the parking lot by 7:50pm. Sorry to the workers who weren't enthused about working much past 8pm on a rainy Wednesday night in January. I've been there. It's a nice and quaint restaurant serving typical breakfast items like pancakes, French toast, eggs, ham, bacon, etc. I ordered some French toast with eggs and bacon. The food was good but nothing special. The place was little run down but the server was nice and tentative. Seemed like they had lots of regulars since she seemed to know many of the customers name. The person taking care of us brought us coffee that was lukewarm, but fixed it right away when we asked. No defensive reaction, just brought us hot coffee and made sure we were happy. Stopped here on our way home from Watkins Glen. It's hard to screw up breakfast but it's also tough to make something outstanding when you order an omelette. They did it. Ordered the Spinach Bacon and Cheese 3 egg omelette and it was outstanding. Done right, lots of spinach and for sure a lot of cheese.
