Thrilled to report that the Vietnamese restaurant from the Staples plaza moved to Main Street in Binghamton in Dec 2020 (yes it took me 18 months to figure that out). Bruce and Julia have relocated to a spot on the blue bus route and are going great guns with support from the community! Woo woo! New menu design but same favorites - my go-to is always the Spicy Lemongrass Chicken vermicelli bowl (extra peanuts please). Mild heat is plenty for me out you can get that adjusted to your taste. They now accept credit cards but there is an up charge. Ca phe sua da (iced Vietnamese coffee) is authentic but brewed in advance so you don't have to wait for the drip. Authentic ingredients. Highly recommend.

    Roast duck Pho. Yummy!

Great Pho! I went here with my roommate (it's a 25-minute walk from campus, for those interested) and we ordered the summer rolls, roasted duck Pho, and fresh fish Pho. Everything was delicious. Most of the tables are deuces, though there are some four-seaters. It's a pretty intimate place, so come here with a friend or two, not large groups. We will be back!

Very authentic food. Extra delicious and fresh. I love the chicken vermicelli, less the carbs (no noodles). One of the tastiest Asian dishes I've ever had!

FYI - this place is now located on Main st in Binghamton. I absolutely love this place! The sweet Vietnamese owner makes this place even better! He comes out and chats with his customers and always has a take to tell. This is the best Pho I've ever had! I've tried pho at many places throughout NY, and this place is hands down the greatest! Very flavorful, great portions, and always fresh. I have no idea how anyone could give this place a bad rating. I've eaten some flavorless pho, but this place doesn't lack flavor. I'm a pescatarian/vegetarian, but still get the bone beef broth because that's where the flavor is at. I have ordered the vegetarian pho too, and it's delicious. The tofu is cooked to perfection, which is not the case at other pho restaurants. Their pho is served with a generous plate of Thai basil, lime wedges and bean sprouts. That is always passed over at other pho restaurants. Make sure you order the fried bread with you pho and dip it. Yum!! I've eaten at this place over a dozen times, and have never been disappointed! You can switch your pho noodles for ramen (or another type), which is awesome. Try this place! You won't be disappointed!

Bone broth chicken Pho and shrimp vermicelli. The coffee is sooooo good too!!!

We came towards the end of the lunch rush (1-2PM?) and were seated immediately. The ambiance is hip and buzzy, with lots of colorful decor. The menu had some very tempting options, even for vegetarians. We started with the buffalo brussel sprouts, a stroke of genius. I'd never thought about dousing this tasty veggie in hot sauce and blue cheese, but it makes sense. This was a very tasty app, and the sprouts were roasted perfectly with crispy outer skins which provided the crunch needed for a good buffalo dish. The special that day was some kind of french dip sandwich which one of my dining companions got. Another one got a cajun catfish sandwich and graciously offered me a bite. It was flavorful. For my main, I got the spring roll bowl and decided to add tofu. It had noodles, peanuts, a sweet thai chili sauce, and lots of veggies. It was MASSIVE. Prices are a little high but the portions definitely made it worth it. I could have taken half home as leftovers if I'd wanted. The restaurant also has a coffee bar which we decided last minute to partake in instead of venturing out into the rain to find a different cafe. This was such a convenient option because we didn't have to fight to find parking or brave the weather to go to a second location. I did a pistachio latte. Someone else at my table got a Mexican hot chocolate. I treated myself to the homemade whipped cream. The coffee hit the spot. Throughout the whole experience the staff was wonderful. Our food came out quickly, and the servers were very friendly and joking with us. I'd come back if I was in the area.

It was around 5:30pm on a Saturday and luckily there were plenty of tables still available. We started with the Buffalo Brussels Sprouts which I absolutely loved! These are some of the best Brussels sprouts I've had at a restaurant. The buffalo sauce was light and not overpowering and even the blue cheese dipping sauce (which I'm usually not a fan of) was pretty mild and paired well with the Brussels sprouts. A great start! We then shared the Large Rigatoni a la Vodka and added Meatballs to it. The Large is definitely enough for 2 people. The Rigatoni was cooked well and the vodka sauce was well balanced with the cream, tomatoes, garlic, and cheese. It wasn't anything spectacular but it hit the spot! My only complaint was for ~$6, I expected the meatballs to be larger than they were. The Meatballs had good flavor but for such a large bowl of pasta, it barely makes a difference. And those 3 meatballs should be $1 each at most, in my opinion. The Side Caesar Salad was a great pair with the pasta and for ~$3, very reasonably priced. All in all, worth stopping by if you're in town!

The fish was fresh and the portion size was appropriate for the cost. I also had a shrimp egg roll. Now let me just say I loved the flavor of this egg roll. The taste might have been ginger but was so unexpected and I really enjoyed it. Last but not least I had 6 wings with garlic sauce. I love garlic. The wings were cooked perfectly, sauced but not too much to take away the chicken's crunch. The service was fast and the food arrived hot. I would recommend this restaurant.

Today on the first Tuesday of June we went in around 2 pm. The lady and man working there were eating. We felt we were interrupting. The man quickly asked what we like to drink. We said hot tea and water. Once delivered we discovered the water tasted bad due to what I figured was freezer burned ice cubes. The hot tea was also bad, a pity since we loved it before. I complained to the woman that the water and tea were bad and while she was in the kitchen I grabbed two waters from a glass refrigerator by us and had every intention to pay for them. She took the tea and bad ice water away complaining to us how could this be. I asked her to taste the water with ice and she refused. It must have upset her because we heard her yelling with her coworkers in the back. Prior visits we were offered crispy noodles in a bowl with duck sauce to dip them. No longer. The lady who once ran the place always sliced a orange on a plate for her guests to clean their palate before they left. The new manager seems to care less about her customers. Since she ate nearly the whole time we were there, we felt as if we were intruding on her lunch. If we were, she let it happen and didn't even remember me or my wife and how we tipped well. Not this time. We will never go back regardless of any circumstances. The booths are more than uncomfortable. Steer clear! I will miss the back bean shrimp but nothing else except the old kind woman who once ran the place and her chef.

Perhaps you can reach out to Pat at Thai Thai restaurant on upper court Street in Binghamton and get her peanut sauce recipe? It is superior to any we've had. The grilled shrimp appetizer wasn't grilled but appeared to be done on a flat top. Cooked, not grilled. My Pad Thai was different than any I've had. Rice noodles were thinner and would stuck together making it difficult to eat. More like long thin rice spaghetti that needs a knife to eat. I found I was grabbing up globs of noodles without a knife. Chicken in the dish was ground having a different take on any others I've had. I liked it. Would be nice to have a spice rack when seated so we could add more spice rather than having to choose 1-5 and hope for the best. For the price they should give you extra napkins without asking and ice water when you sit down. I've never had Pad Thai as good as at the Thai Thai restaurant I mentioned earlier in Binghamton. I hope you reach out to Pat and get her recipe for that as well. It's the best! I always get chicken and shrimp Pad Thai there and it's the best we ever had. Delicious! As far as ambiance at the taste of thai, the place has none. Only a ladies room at the entrance, men's room closed. We'll go again in a month and hope they take our advice.
