Fit years this was one of the better places around. It's slipping, and far. States, no more "fresh" noodles, now packaged, the hot and sour soup is a gelatinous mess, not very good at all. To begin, I'll start with the positive. The service was as expected. The ambiance was insignificant as this is takeout only. However, the food, well, was not at all what we were hoping for after spending $108 on our order. The teriyaki beef appetizer and the fried wonton were inedible. Couldn't even bite into the wontons or the beef, they were so hard and dry! Makes me wonder how long they were under the heat lamp!! We obviously threw that out! The kids who are 3&4 love wonton soup. But this time they weren't too thrilled with the broth so of course we tried it and yes, the soup was watered down. AND, the hot and sour soup was jelly like and only had a "very" few vegetables. Although the taste wasn't bad! The rest of the our meal was lacking in spices, especially the General TSO chicken! It was sweet with no spice. Ugh! I think, even though times are tough it's not a good idea to cut back on food you're known for. Went here for my Mother who lives in town likes it. For appetizers beef teriyaki, we can call it rawhide on a stick. The eggs rolls not bad. Shrimp n lobster sauce was ok , needs more flavor. Honey wanted all white meat chicken, they couldn't do it for General Tao? I had eaten here before years ago and the food was great. However, after a recent take out experience I'm done with this place. Quality has declined drastically. The food did not taste good. Beef and broccoli was watery, crab Rangoon were made in heavy thick wonton instead of light ones, so eating one was a chore. And they don't give you sweet/sour for it, whereas most places I found do. Before I even got my food, another patron also getting her takeout pointed out to me that buckets filled with raw beef and pork were sitting out in front of the coolers- who knows how long for. I wanted to walk out at that point. I was disgusted. Overall, terrible. Go somewhere else if you know what's good for you- literally. read more

Solid chinese food I grew up eating. I've never had bad food here but the lower rating is for the wait. This place is always busy so expect 30 mins when they say 15. Recently they had over an hour wait. Not worth it when I can get the same quality at Foliage. Which I think is their sister restaurant anyways. As far as food goes lo meins, general tso, Hunan chicken, muu shu, moo goo, and Buddhist feast are all solid choices. Fried rice was kind of flavorless on my last visit. I love this restaurant! I drive from Endwell to get the food! If you want anything spicier, JUST ASK and they'll spice it up for you. Almost every chinese restaurant in the area makes their dishes on the mild side for standard orders and you must request extra hot. Unlike others, all their food has an individual taste. they don't over load on the ginger. Granted it really is a TAKEOUT place as the eat in area is a little like a school lunch room for atmosphere, but then again I have only used it for take out! LOVE the food there. and in the middle of winter their noodle soup is delicious and inexpensive. read more

This is probably the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Sure, you get huge portions of food. But the food lacks any semblance of flavor. I ordered "Hot & Spicy Chicken" and it was supposed to be a spicy dish... It was as sweet as a Sesame Chicken dish at most restaurants. Unacceptable. I'm not usually so picky, but plastic utensils and dishes would also have been nice. If you want to make a quick pit stop for some quality Chinese food, go anywhere but Fraternity Chinese Restaurant. It is a family run business and very popular so be prepared to callin your order and have it take 20-30 minutes. I usually just get takeout, but they have a lovely and spacious dining room for larger groups. The food is consistent every single time you order from them, I've never had a problem with anything I've eaten. i have a theory about chinese take out restaurants. i feel that everyone thinks that the one they grew up with is the best. i didn't grow up with Fraternity, but my friend did and he hyped this place up a lot to me. i've had it a few times over the years and wasn't too impressed, so after a few years without it i tried it again recently and my opinion is still the same. most places will tell you "10 minutes" over the phone after you order. this place told me 15. so i go in at 15 and my order still wasn't ready yet, and this is at a time where there was only 1 or 2 orders ahead of me. the staff did seem friendly though. so anyways, i get my food and go home and it's just ok. i got the sesame chicken lunch special with a pork eggroll. the eggroll was soggy and hard to bite through and didn't have much flavor. the pork fried rice didn't have much pork in it and had an odd flavor to it that i wasn't used to. as for the chicken, the flavor was decent but it was a little on the dry side, seemed like there was more breading than chicken. the food here is decent, but i guess i'll just have to stick with what i grew up with, China Star on the south side of Binghamton. i'd give this place a 2.5 read more
