Foo Chow Restaurant is a very cheap, quick and easy take out place to go to in Chenango County. Although, I don't feel their prices are accurate because the last two times I went there I had gotten 3 combos and it came to $21, and then I got Sesame Chicken, and Beef & Broccoli and it came to $23. But, the staff is very friendly and are so sweet! I definitely recommend that as your "go-to" Chinese Take-Out. read more

Be careful, they have a scam going on. They don't tell you on the phone, but when you show up to pick up your food you have to pay cash, they won't accept credit or debit cards. But by coincidence they just so happen to have an ATM machine sitting there that will charge you a nice fat $3 fee to take out the cash to pay for your food. So instead of them having to paying the 3% credit card fee to accept credit cards (like every other business), they're making an extra 10% profit on this little scam. In today's retail world, accepting debit and credit cards is a common expectation of customers, especially at restaurants... I'm sure they think they're being very clever, but I'll never come back to this restaurant just because they ripped me off for $3. I probably would have spent thousands of dollars over the next several years. It's short-sighted and bad business. read more

For ten years I have found Foo Chow to have good food, consistent quality, and run by very nice people.

Our favorite Chinese take-out in the area and we've tried them all [cash only]. We are 25 minutes away but it's well worth the extra miles. The food is consistently good [we order here about twice a month], the prices are reasonable, and the owners are always friendly and have always gotten the order perfect. Anyone else like dog food? Because if you do...you should eat foo chow! I grew up eating at this restaurant. It has been open in the town of Greene for almost two decades. On a recent visit home, I decided to be nostalgic and my family ordered dinner from here. I don't think any of us finished what we got. The rice was dry, the general tso chicken was a low quality cut of chicken and the sauce was abysmal. I then learned Foo Chow is under new management and since they came in, everything has gone down hill. I feel very bad for the people who live in Greene. There isn't a ton of places to eat at in the town. I have my memories of childhood I guess. It's tragic to see this place fall so far. ...RIP Foo Chow..... read more

My husband and I like to get Chinese food to bring home. It is my favorite food of all so we get it often. Our food from Foo Chow has always been very good. Never had trouble with anything and we have been going there for over ten years now. The take out order is usually ready within ten minutes of ordering. It is hot when we get home and is well packaged so nothing ever spills. All the food is well cooked and tasty. We have ordered a variety of dishes and they all are mouthwatering. I grew up in Greene and now live in NYC. I don't go home without having Foo Chow. It is easily the best Chinese food I have ever had.... seriously... If I'd know about the fire on Thanksgiving day I would have gone in with a bucket of water to fight the blaze myself. I love Chinese food and I've tried numerous restaurants around America and in New York City, and though I've found some great places out here, nothing can hold a candle. If you're in Greene.... Foo Chow years ago was a fantastic Chinese restaurant. Anytime your ordered food from here it was fantastic. The restaurant has changed hands and the new owners must have their own recipes for things because they taste veery different and not for the better. The fried rice is very very dry and actually kind of tasteless. Crab rangoon is much smaller then it was and again no real taste. I don't go here anymore since it changed hands because honestly I'd rather have a PB&J at home then spend good money on blah food. Wish they would have keep the recipes from the original owners food was outstanding then. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I go here with my friends all the time. I notice that i like the Chinese food here much better than other places. The egg rolls are of a larger size and better quality. More of my usual meals are, wonton soup, shrimp lo mein, sesame chicken, and sweet and sour chicken. All of these dishes are delicious! I've never ever had a single complaint about this wonderful restaurant . Prices are amazing, I can get wonton soup, and egg roll and a soda for $4.10! Sure, the people don't really check on how you are while you eat your meal, but it's really more of fast food place. If you are looking for an expensive, five star place to eat, your first problem is you are looking in Greene. All together I highly advise you visit Foochow to satisfy your appetite. read more
