This is probably the best pho option for the area but not that impressed with food or service. Thought both were just average. They had two servers and it was difficult to get their attention. We were there towards the end of lunch and there were five or so other parties at the restaurant but wouldn't say it was busy. Yet we found ourselves having to stop eating trying to flag them down. Very cold (Ac) and spicy (tamarind soup). The food was excellent and our server solicitous and up beat. The tamarind soup was very specially and spicely flavored! We added white rice to our level 2 spice for our American palettes. We were a bit disappointed in the bread on the bahn mi. Sorry this comes a few months late: Pros: pork over cracked rice, the sides like the wings are the best Cons: When it's cold in Binghamton, the hallway to the bathrooms is just as cold, and there are only two private rooms, so you have to wait, the cold weather tests your might. Overall: This ranks as my second top cool place to go to in Binghamton. Unfortunately I can only recall the Pho which was great, the pork, the cracked rice, the wings, the satay (the chicken meat was soft and cooked well). Stopped in to get a bowL of HOT PHO... My husband ordered the Pho Tai (rare beef- on the side) also ordered eggrolls. Eggrolls came out hot and crisp. The Pho on the other hand did not come out hot AT ALL. It came out room temperature- wasn't even able to cook the rare beef in the soup- nor the bean sprouts. The pho soup itself did NOT taste like pho. ANY other restaurant food ALWAYS comes out hot and steamy. We asked if they could heat it up- which they did in the microwave... brought it back.. and it was the same. Still freaking cold. 8 hr drive and wanted a good hot steaming bowl of pho.. flavor wasn't there... temperature wasn't there. For a Pho place to be called Pho-nomenal it was definitely NOT Phonomenal. Hell the beer was even room temperature. Very disappointing.... I REALLY wish we hadn't stopped here. ‍ Came in hungry, leaving hungry. Didn't even finish the pho cause it was NOT good, freaking cold.. Helloooo pho should always be served steaming hot! We ordered the spring rolls and I think I got the XL bowl of pho. Spring rolls were ok. XL bowl was a lot smaller than I was expecting. It was a bit lacking in meat for the price point. Soup was average. Would also have been better if it came out piping hot. For the area, probably not a whole lot of options, but it was ok. Lots of street parking and seating inside. read more

Pho Nominal is a great place! The service is great and if you're not experienced they'll help you find a dish that will suit you. The place is very clean with a nice calm atmosphere. We usually get the chicken wings, which are crispy and excellent. The vegetarian spring rolls are a go to as well, very good. I get beef pho with noodles which I love and my wife recently got the curry with chicken. Everything is great, we go here often. read more

In my 20 year of dining I have never had to wait an entire hour for some noodles. My friend on the other hand got broken rice with pork, the egg was cold, the meatloaf with egg was cold, and the noodles were lukewarm. Fortunately our group is from out of town, so we won't have to bother stopping by again. They call this place Pho Nomenal but it was Pho Gettable. The Vietnamese Yellow Curry was indeed phenomenal! Beats the taste of Thai yellow curry. My husband agreed I was the winner with it over the veggie Pho he had, which he said was good, but not the best Pho he had ever had (a place in DC wins that). It did have an interesting Xmas-like spice in it. The restaurant was a little hard to find with construction nearby (do not try walking over the rocks unless you are a mountain goat), but once inside it was lovely - although the tables were a little close together with Covid returning. Pretty good Vietnamese. They also have new happy hour signature cocktails for $5 to make you holler! Cant twll u what time happy hour starts on Fridays, but I CAN tell you that it ends at 7pm. Anyhoo...the pho portions will end up with you taking the rest home. I finished my grilled pork bun. It eas good. I do prefer my nuoc cham to be a little more fishy though. Arrived 6:05...no reservation...just white average folks...enjoyed the excellent food before...this time? We sat at the bar, having been told to notify the hostess we would have a drink while waiting for our table. While several patrons at the bar were served... the same individual that told us to notify served drinks and food to either side of us. Multiple tables were seated and served that arrived WITHOUT RESERVATIONS...but not once over 55 minutes did the staff attempt to serve a drink or deliver a menu. 80 minutes in we left....F__k YOU! Loved the pho! The broth was perfect, good number of shrimps and plump/juicy. My friend had the pork chops and rice with the full intention of bringing half of it home but it was so good she finished it. Service was friendly and attentive. It was great to see a Vietnamese restaurant close to my hotel. I love Pho and Pho Nomenal did not disappoint. The summer rolls were great as was the steak pho. My only regret was that they did not have chicken ( Pho Ga) which is my favorite. The broth was very flavorful and the steak perfectly done medium rare. The service was outstanding. I will start this as I always do by saying that I don't give out five stars unless I am really blown away I stopped here for lunch. I was very happy with my choice. The decor had a wood meets industrial feel. High ceilings with the heat ducts and exposed. The high top tables and chairs in the middle were wood with metal and the was a wooden bench around the outer wall for shorter tables. They also have a full bar with stools to sit at. While wall with wood and metal accents. Service was quick and they came to check on me often even as the place was filling up. I had the spring rolls that were slightly overcooked but still good. The Bahn Mi sandwich was the star. The fresh cilantro with the crispness of the carrots, daikons, scallions, cucumbers and the little bit of heat from the jalapeños really brought flavor and texture to the sandwich. The pork had good flavor but would have loved to have sliced instead of pieces but that is just being picky. The sandwich was bomb and I would eat another right now. I saw some of the Pho come out and it looks awesome. I will definitely be back to try it. Please stop in hear and give this place a try totally worth it. The price was reasonable as well. read more

A cozy new spot in downtown Binghamton! As one would expect, their pho is excellent. I ordered the eye round steak, flank, and tendon pho (all beef). The broth is rich and flavorful, the meat was perfectly cooked, and the bowl was huge, so you definitely won't leave hungry. Some places skimp on the meat, but Phonomenal did not disappoint. The pho came out first, so when we ordered wings as an appetizer they actually came last. The phonomenal wings were incredible! Super crispy and just the right amount of sticky sweet on the outside but tender on the inside. I will definitely get these again and highly recommend for anyone tagging along who might be apprehensive to try Vietnamese food. We planned on ordering dessert, but they didn't have any of it available, so I left with a Thai iced tea. I'm hoping they have it next time as I was eager to try it. We ordered the phenomenal wings and spring rolls for appetizers and they were very tasty~ the spring rolls were surprisingly meaty. For meals we ordered the eye round pho (yummy), two pork chops (delicious) and the chicken and pork vermicelli (meats were super dry and over all not good-hubby had a bad meal) and dessert was the corn and sticky rice-surprisingly yummy and hot temperature-wise. It was a great place to try out before the hockey game. Really glad we did. The spring rolls (with grilled pork) were fantastic and fresh. We ordered the pork chops and short ribs. Both were very tasty and similar to our memories of another Vietnamese restaurant that we loved and has since closed. So this made us happy to know we can now come here for the same things! We ordered extra large pho special , grilled pork vermicelli and grilled pork chop with shredded pork. Pho was ok with a Lighter pho broth but still hits the stop if you need a pho in Bing. Bun thit nurong ( grilled pork vermicelli) was good but the grilled pork was on the saltier side and it was just pork chop sliced up instead of traditional thinly sliced grilled pork like it is suppose to be with this dish. Fish sauce was favorable to complement the bun dish. The broken rice pork chop was good, but the shredded pork didn't have too much taste. The Thai ice tea was water down , maybe too much ice was added , so would not recommend. read more
