I really enjoy the consistency and variety here which includes many vegetarian choices. I have eaten here several times and plan to return this afternoon. I didn't expect too much from this place - I knew what I wanted and I knew what I was going to get. I would say it's just another typical Vietnamese restaurant. If you are craving pho and want a quick fix, Saigon cafe will do the job. I thought the service was fast and efficient. The two younger guys weren't very talkative but the older gentleman (I think he's one of the owners) was very helpful and polite. There's also no seating indoors - everything is outdoors. The food was okay (like I said it was a quick fix for my cravings). Ordered the summer roll with grilled beef and the special beef pho. The summer roll w/ beef was good. The beef was thinly sliced up but the sauce was too sweet for my liking. There was nothing special about the beef pho - its your typical pho dac biet anywhere else. You get your onions, tripe, couple slices of beef, and tendon.. In my opinion the square bowl they used is their way of keeping portions small without making it seem like it's small. First and foremost I would like to thank Andy, the owner, for reaching out to me to make my previous experience right. He was sincerely apologetic when we spoke. Today he had chicken pho ready for me when I arrived. It was snowing out so he brought it to my car and told me he gave me some spiced chicken on the side for me to try. I usually get pho from Chinatown where it's pretty authentic, and the pho here is just as amazing if not better! Service is impeccable and you can tell the owners and staff really care about their customers and even know a bunch by first name basis, asking about family and how things are going. Forgot to update my review but ended up ordering from here again during a 24 hour shift and things were packaged much better so I was able to enjoy my pho! Most of the other people who ordered got banh mi and seemed to also enjoy their food. Too few utensils were packed again but the experience was much improved! What a pleasant welcome to Saigon Cafe! We enjoyed a lovely lunch on a perfect autumn day and are so glad we returned to see the renovated space, which is airy and pleasant. The staff was very welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. We kept it simple with an order of beef pho and grilled beef vermicelli, a nicely balanced Thai iced tea, and fresh sweet lemonade. The pho was like a perfect belly hug and so flavorful! I appreciated the lean cuts of meat and the portion size. The beef vermicelli was an ideal balance of protein, carbs, and veggies. And when you add one of their homemade spicy sauces or oils - boy - each dish opens up a whole new level of flavors. We liked that the staff guides guests on what table sauces to add to each dish. Please do yourself a favor and leave room for dessert because we had a heavenly moment with the mango dessert! We sat down and thirty seconds later a girl came up and said "Are you ready to order?" Very cheerful waitress. I said, "No, we just sat down." She looked mortally wounded and made some innocuous comment and walked away, never to return. The manager waited on us and was super nice. Don't know what her problem was but it was a bizarre start. Very clean place, quiet inside. Very busy outside and inside. Food was excellent. We had the salad with beef and the vermicelli with roast pork. The salad was green apple, carrot and daikon and had a really great citrus/fish sauce dressing. Service was fast and nice. First time here with my sister, and we had a wonderful experience. Food: We shared chicken wings, a pork vermicelli bento box, and beef pho. It was a good amount of food for 2 people, but everything was delicious. The chicken wings were nice and crispy with great flavors. It had a slight kick but not overwhelming for those who liked a light spice. We then got our pho, and they generously split the pho in half for us. It was nice not trying to figure out half and a nice portion for us to share since we had more food on the way. I did wish we had more cinnamon and spice overall to the broth, but that is a personal preference. It has great depth to the broth and is not as oily as you can sometimes get when ordering pho in any location. The meat was nice and tender. Last, we got a bento box, and I honestly think this is genius! My sister and I are always trying to figure out what appetizer we want because we want a little bit of everything but don't have the stomach space. They graciously split the meal again since they knew we were sharing. And I thought it was a great option to get a little bit of everything. We each had a nice light summer roll and a nice crispy fried spring roll. We also got a dumpling that was fried. the vermicelli was nice; I sometimes mix the leftover peanut sauce from the summer roll with the vermicelli, giving a nice peanut noodles mix with the salad. Overall the flavors were on point. This is a great meal for sharing, especially in cold or rainy weather. Environment: When we first got there, it was a little confusing where the front door was and the restaurant in general. Of course, there were signs, but we didn't pay attention that very well since the weather wasn't the greatest and we wanted to get indoors. The restaurant is in the back, just in case you need that note. when going in, it is a very clean-cut environment. You can automatically tell that you can't really get a big table or have a giant group. It is good for 4-6 as they can combine tables and booths but not so much a larger group, especially during a rush. They do have cute outdoor seating, but seating is also limited. There isn't much of a waiting room, so it can be weird standing and waiting. It can be uncomfortable for the tables in front of the doorway during cold weather, but they do try to get everything to run smoothly without people waiting too long for a table or food. And without making people feel rushed. Overall: The space is small. You can go with a group of people, but you might be waiting for a while if you hit a busy time. I do like the flavors over everything overall. I do wish the pho had a more in-depth flavor on spices but personal preference. They can split the food if you are sharing between 2 people. The bento box is great if you don't want pho and can't decide on a dish. I will be back soon for more delicious food and great service overall. read more

Ordered for door dash delivery for lunch. We ordered 2 beef pho and one veggie pho. Sadly only 2 packets of sauces came with 3 soups. The lettuce was wilted. The noodles and broth are delivered separate. I enjoyed the beef pho but i wasn't so much a fan of adding the lime if there is no spice in the soup. I personally and not a huge fan of spicy so i didn't add any. My friends love the lime with their spicy soups. The veggie soup was "bomb" according to my friend. My first experience at Saigon Cafe was pretty good. I went specifically for the pho and I was not disappointed. Our waitress was kind and efficient. Right away we received our water, and shortly after that we got our spring rolls (which were amazing). I ordered the beef pho with brisket and it was fresh as well as flavorful. Overall, my experience was pretty good with the exception of the male server being kind of rude. Nonetheless, that will not discourage me from patronizing this business. We usually get chicken but the vegetable ones are also great. They make them by hand, and they're always good. Wonton soup: Chicken and shrimp broth with lemongrass and herb flavors. Excellent clear broth packed with flavor. V-box: Great value! Pick your meat (I tried beef with fried rice) and it comes with salad, wontons, spring rolls and summer rolls. It's filling. They have great bento boxes if you want a combo, and they have a multitude of meat and vegetable broth choices for the pho. Super tasty, healthy, and so quick. Um... can I add more stars?! I am completely in love with this place. The food is sooo good. The people are super nice. Now, it is a tiny place.... maybe can sit 20 people? And it is tight! But its nice and casual. We order summer rolls, beef boa buns, dumplings, beef pho I also got mandoline pudding I think it was for dessert and a macaroon! Everything so delicious I literally waddled out of there. If I had buttons on my pants I would need to unbutton. I'm making that my new usual spot. So worth it!!! As you walk up the side walk you can smell all the lovely different spices that makes a real Vietnamese restaurant experience. I'm Vietnamese and the beef pho and vermicelli bento box (pork option) was spot on. Although, the flavors have been toned down a bit for the American market the essence/love of real Viet food was there. The iced coffee and chili paste was authentic so I ordered 1 extra coffee to go. I even took a couple of the Thai chili they had growing in their pot out on their patio seating area. Didn't have the Pho which is the true test of a Vietnamese restaurant. But the platter I had came with vermicelli (topped with some peanut) and a combo of pork & beef and was excellent. Wrap it up in a lettuce leaf and add shredded carrot, cucumber, fresh cilantro leaves and dip into their.nuoc mam cham sauce that you pour from maple syrup dispenser. I ate outside on a humid rainy night. It's not a beautiful space but comfortable and neutral. The service is attentive and friendly and the cafe is overall a very good value. read more
