I'm not the easiest customer to please by any means, just ask anybody who has ever tried selling me a service or product. I am a discriminating customer who takes his time making purchasing decisions and I am not easily impressed these days with so many lousy businesses out there. You really have to be extra careful. I have ultra-high expectations of excellence & expect the best in every aspect of a company I do business with. But WOW!!!!, I was blown away with Safe & Sound. Great prices, awesome bend over backwards customer service, no-hassle returns, patience, exemplary product knowledge, skilled workmanship & so much more, these guys really care & take their work seriously. After interrogating almost every audio store here in Northern Virginia with a fine tooth comb, I finally settled on Safe & Sound in Manassas after going back & forth with the Rich, the store owner for a month asking a million questions. He never once lost his patience with me. Rich & his awesome team are simply the very best & I was 110% elated with the outstanding work they did on my Mazda RX8, a difficult car to work on. They answered all of my questions and never pushed for a sale. Their prices were the lowest in the area. Overall, there is just no better audio specialist company around. This team is amazing, they work together as a well rehearsed team cooperating. These guys truly take pride in their work and they do an excellent job. I did see a few smudges here & there but that comes with the job. They really know their stuff inside & out, these are experienced, seasoned professionals in every sense of the word including custom work of all kinds. I will always take my vehicles to Safe & Sound for my audio needs & I highly encourage you to do the same. You'll be glad you did.. Just check around with the so-called competition & see for yourself. They even went as far as returning several components I had purchased on bad advice from another company but could not use, to save me on return shipping fees. They took the time to explain why things had to be installed the way they did, compatibilty issues, etc. I got a real education. After my car was completed (Multimedia Center,Navigation, Car Alarm, Amplifier, Subwoofers, Sub enclosure & more, Rob took the time to go over everything they installed with me to show me how things functioned. Safe & Sound is absolutely the best in every aspect of what they do. I wanted to take the time to provide some feedback regarding a recent installation on my Porsche Cayman. It all started with Craig. I walked into your Chantilly store in a complete state of confusion about what I wanted for this car. Thanks to Craig taking the time (and patience) to explain in a language I could understand, we came up with a game plan. Swapped out the head unit first and I was blown away. It was not the original unit that caught my eye, but I trusted Craig's advice and I have a better car stereo as a result of his expertise. It just keeps getting better from there. To give you the short version, I just picked up the Cayman yesterday with a new amplifier, crossovers, and 3-way speakers and my jaw is still dragging on the ground. Elias and Brendan were very patient with me, answered all of my questions and performed an installation on my car that I am thrilled with. I know that I didn't spend the largest amount of money in Safe and Sound, but I was treated (by all concerned) like I was spending a million dollars! I didn't even know what a crossover was a few months ago, but I do now and I'm a better man for it. Safe and sound is my one and only install shop. Period. They listen to what each individual customer needs and go from there. Rich the owner made sure if I had any issue to let him know. And Elias, Dayton and Jesse, make the shop what it is & know there stuff. Elias helped me come up with a plan to build my system I've always wanted. And jesses and Dayton executed it. They do charge just slightly more than the average shop but worth every penny when it comes to the cleanness and detail theses guys put into there work. I had a issue with the speaker connection and they immediately got me in to fix the issue. And Jesse fixed a couple other things with my door that wasn't on the service bill to improve my listing experience. Dayton does work as if he has 30 years experience. I was very happy with my over all experience I know I can walk in anytime and feel welcome at there shop. There not only great at what they do but cool ass guys. I will only let them touch my car since I've had such bad experience with other shops. I will being doing my tinted windows, alarm, started, custom a pillars, and much more soon as possible. Update: Safe and Sound made a real effort and has since resolved the problem satisfactorily. Dash Cam: I visited S&S discussed what I wanted to accomplish and decided on the DR750X-2CH. I wanted 60 fps. I was installing on 3 cars and was able to get $100 off. All fine, I put a deposit, and we set a date for install. I get there and Donnie says "Oh I made a mistake on the price. Too much discount." We discussed and it just didn't sound right. But, went forward anyway. What I didn't realize was he was installing the DR900X-2CH. More expensive and only 30 fps. I assume either he was up selling me or he didn't order the DR750X-2CH and was slipping this past me. Which I'm ashamed to say he did. Fast talked into paying $286 more and didn't get what I wanted. I realized when I saw the box at home and there was the model in big letter and I looked at our deposit receipt. Buyer beware.... Disappointed. ***Was going to upgrading my stereo and Nav to a Kenwood DNX997XR or better. read more

They were able to diagnose and fix an Android Auto / Apple Carplay issue on my daughter's Mazda CX-3 that had the techs that manufacture the upgrade kit scratching their heads. I had these guys install a system in my truck several months ago. It consisted of a NAV head unit, separates in the front and rear doors, two amps and subs. Overall the install is good. They did a great job keeping everything well concealed. My complaints are that their pricing was pretty steep, but more than that they took a week longer than promised. When I went to get my truck they told me that one of my tires in my brand new truck had a nail in it and so they put my spare on as a favor. Well, it was actually a screw (like the type they use at the car stereo place) and I had to pay to get it all fixed at a local tire shop. Mainly it was inconvenient on top of it taking them a full week longer than promised. Not the end of the world. The stereo sounds amazing...which is why I went there in the first place. read more

Although price was a factor, I based my decision to go with Safe & Sound after a phone conversation with the owner, Rich. I recently had a Kenwood stereo with navigation and the integrated dashcam installed in a 2015 Ford f150. Both units work great! We had an issue with the hvac lights coming on/not turning off, and the guys there worked tirelessly to get the issue resolved, which they did. They were extremely polite and professional, and would not give up until this issue was fixed. Safe and Sound has done multiple projects for me over the years. It's great because I don't have to guess or explain, I just say what I want and it's done perfectly. They worked on my cars, my wife's cars and our RV. We had alarms, radios, 2 video systems for the kids and a custom TV install. I have always marveled at the results.
