Had a new key fob system installed. Did a good job, but charged $150 for one hour of installation. Actually took about 5 minutes. ???? Got an estimate to install a $260 new CarPlay radio for $530 installation fee! Be careful with their install fees. Grossly overpriced for the time it actually takes. Look elsewhere first or do it yourself. Was also supposed to get an estimate to install new car seats. Was supposed to call me back that day. Never happened... to this day. read more

They installed remote start (with Drone app) on my Lexus truck. It works as intended. I had viper remote start installed by another company on my teen's Lexus a few months ago. I wasn't too impressed plus they were stupid expensive!! So after they did my truck, I asked if they could install the smart start app on his truck for longer range. I received 'free' advice that was worth what I paid. I was told quickly what was wrong with my radio (which isn't true) and the solution was a new $160 radio that would cost $460 installed. Not something my budget allows. But a new to me old radio that I can plug and play was a good suggestion. So, three stars for that! read more

After 12 years without an aftermarket system (someone needed to sacrifice so we could haul groceries lol), I finally decided it was time for an upgrade. I drove a little over 2 hours to visit Donny and his shop in Manassas at the suggestion of my husband. I was looking to add a little bass, but not so much that it would overpower the factory speakers in my '24 Integra. Donny provided me with 4 really great options, patiently answered all of my questions, and took the time to place a couple of the speakers in my trunk so that I could see how they would fit in the space I had to work with. Installation took the better part of a day, but the end result shows the staff takes pride in their work. Very clean install--any visible wires are wrapped in a black fabric-like material so they blend into the trunk, and the bass knob is tucked away near the hood release inside the cabin. My husband was worried the JL Audio ACP208LG-W3v3 (MicroSub+™ with dual 8" subs and 500-watt amp) wouldn't hit hard enough for my liking, but after making a couple adjustments to the front-rear speaker fade control (I had the rear speakers set really low since I occasionally transport dogs for a rescue), these subs will make the seats vibrate at a mid-range volume. Excellent experience all around and worth the drive. Husband is quite impressed. Will definitely return if I decide to proceed with additional upgrades. read more

TLDR: Prepared to buy a set of components but ended up with a better subwoofer that achieved what I was actually looking for in my car stereo. I walked in today, ready to buy a set of new components for my car. Before actually selecting a set of speakers, Donnie went to my car and did some tuning to my current equipment. He asked me to listen to a couple more songs and then go back in and talk to him. I did so and while I was listening he was doing some research on components for me, in the event I still wasn't satisfied. After listening to a couple of songs, I went inside and told him where I thought the audio was lacking. He recommended that I switch to a ported subwoofer and put one into my trunk and let me repeat the same test as earlier. Highly recommend. Had some work done and the sound wasn't great coming from the truck. Lots of rattle and distortion; felt like the sound was cheap. While I did have to go back in for a second visit; the team was fantastic and went above and beyond to make me happy. New sound is perfect, so rich and bass filled. My wife's 2010 Lincoln MKX sound system went kaput... Safe and sound gave me a number of options we put in a moderately priced solution that it also add as a back up camera and a nice screen... The system is shut up to connect to the iPhone so that it can be runs totally on the sound system off of the screen will be a great depression... Fantastic service. Spent the time with me to figure out exactly what I wanted done to my car. I had to change the date of the appointment last minute and they were able to do that without an issue. Customer service is amazing. They walked and showed me everything that was done and what to look out for in the future. I recently took my Tacoma to safe and sound where I met Donnie for a initial estimate of having a caliraised premium roof rack with a combo light bar and front and rear lights installed. The initial sales order was for $572.40 with a install date of 2 June 2023....the install date was changed to 9 June 2023 due to overbooking and lack of man power in the shop. When I dropped the truck off at 10am on 9 June Donnie assured me the truck would be completed with install by 2 or 3pm being the latest. At 5:44pm I received a call that the truck would not be ready it was taking longer then expected and it would be done by 11am the next day. 10 June I waited to after 12pm then went to the shop where they were still working on the install. After numerous hours 4:20 pm the truck was final completed (to there standards) in which time I was ready to pay the balance of said original agreement of 572.40 I did understand they used some of there own product so expected a few extra dollars add on. Then Donnie tried to bill me for $1350 with 12 hours of labor at $130 per hour. I did contact caliraisedled to confirm install man hours for all materials of the rack and lighting and was told 4-5 hours. I did refuse to pay the $1350 and ended up paying $943.39 which was still overcharged. Donnie tried to say I said it was "ok" for the added on charge when he told me they were not done...I was being considerate and patient with them taking longer then expected not opening my wallet for assault. Also the job was not fully completed even Donnie said he did not like how the ziptide wires on top....will say thank you to the installer for not letting Donnie drill and put a junk switch inside my control panel, instead he left it open for me and told me what to get. Good Equipment; Good Service We moved into a new house that didn't have a garage. Precious is very delicate, and she doesn't want to go out in the cold to start the car. So she wanted to have a remote starter installed. She was referred to these people by her boss. She went there and inquired, and they arranged a day to have the item installed. We came in that day and dropped the car off. When we came back, it was done, and a young man took us out into the car and gave us a full complete demonstration of the equipment. Quiet, spacious, plenty of different kinds of comfortable and clean seating, and stocked with water. Even has its own bathroom. I have been a customer of this store for 25 years- since 1998 when living in Manassas park. Back then, there were Audio Buys, Sound Solution, Crutchfield etc. but always chose Safe and Sound. To say I spent A LOT of money purchasing Viper car alarm systems, Alpine head units, rims for 3 different cars, etc. Is an understatement. I live an hour away in Orange County and still decided to support this store, but not anymore. I was greeted by a Korean guy with black glasses and a ball cap on, when I walked through the door and I asked about a JL Audio amplifier. Before I could even get out any questions or anything he was headed to the back to grab it so I could purchase it. I had to stop him as I just wanted to ask questions about it. I was not there to purchase it yet. We then proceeded to talk about a speaker box in which he said it would fit perfectly in my vehicle. He was a very smooth talker and a fast talker. We then went to look at RCA cables, the reason I was there. He was showing what was available and asked my wife to close her ears as he was referring to the items with sexual jokes, which was cringe worthy, VERY uncomfortable and unprofessional. At that point, I decided I wasn't going to purchase anything as he became creepy and perverted. I decided to just leave and he realized I wasn't going to purchase anything, as I was walking out, he asked what kind of vehicle I had, very nicely, and basically dismissed me and said there is nothing in the whole store that would work and it would be a $10,000 job, with a very nasty attitude. He turned simple RCA cables into what could of been a very bad argument. Thank goodness I kept my cool and just left. I will no longer support this store, after the poor customer service, the blatant disrespect to my wife and I with inappropriate sexual jokes, the attitude I had to endure, etc. All because I wanted to go in and price items and purchase some items for my vehicle. I now have an appointment with Crutchfield in Charlottesville, VA. Thank goodness there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and my car will be complete within a few days. So this is a re-review after having visit the other location, as well as returning to the Manassas location with a friend to watch what happen. It seemed night and day from the first encounter to the next. There are a few places that offer less expensive prices, however I was informed Safe and Sound will match some prices. The sales rep this time was much more patient and even offered a bit of advice. I am glad to say that the customer service was much more on par than my first visit. I have had a number of installations completed by Safe & Sound on multiple vehicles at both their Manassas, and Chantilly locations and they just keep outdoing themselves! I have a fairly rare vehicle (definitely not a common vehicle to work on) and they have had 0 issues or reasons for me to return for modifications or fixes afterwards, which can be a frustrating factor in aftermarket accessory installation. I have definitely experienced that elsewhere in the past. Today I had custom interior accent lighting and the replacement of my OEM rear reflectors with powered versions spliced in to my existing exterior lighting and the results were beyond what I expected! Super clean (and timely) work by the installer and outstanding professionalism from everyone from the price estimator who actually came in with a final number lower than the original quote and the owner himself who reached out to ensure everything was set up correctly. Oh yeah, and they got me in to complete the work same day! (this obviously is not a guarantee for every job but it's a big plus for me with a very packed schedule). I started my search for service using Yelp and I sent them a message and within a few hours the owner responded to my inquiry inviting me to visit one of his locations. There the sales staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about what I was looking for. Once my job was done the service tech spent as much time as I needed going over the install and capabilities of my new system. The work was top notch and very well done. in closing, they are not the cheapest but neither is anything that is above average in life. i approached the company through yelp for a dashcam install quote. although i had installed several of them before, i didnt want to tear up my new car. Fast foward about a month later, they installed my dashcam. i was a bit on pins and needles as i had never done business with them before and i was definitely concerned for my car (only had about 500 miles on it). But, when i showed up to pick it up, i was pleasantly impressed. I have an extensive engineering background and can say the installation was very professional. i could not even tell anyone was in my vehicle outside of the new dashcam present. it did cost a bit more than orginially quoted, but they did a flawless job and i was very happy with the quality of work. I called Safe and Sound and asked about having a stereo installed in my boat for me. I had used them in the past and thought they had done good work. I was told originally to bring the boat by and they could do the install for me. I then called when I was on my way and they said to just bring it by for an estimate. After I arrived the person from the store came out and looked at the boat. In the matter of a minute he said they were to busy and it was be 3 weeks before they could install it. He did call the other location and said they could do it the following week. I needed to put the boat in storage and could not wait. The employee then walked off and went back in the store. I was then left to put the cover back on and turn a 32 foot boat around in the small parking lot as the employee watched out the window. I will never use Safe and Sound again. read more

My only complaint is they keep trying to push that super expensive !@#@&@# K-40 unit on me while K-40 themselves don't recommend their unit in VA. But I keep coming back to this place.
