My car stereo system died recently, so I was looking for a basic new one for my 2013 Prius. I didn't want to spend a lot, and I didn't want the big box store experience. Sonic Sound was terrific. Henry was friendly and very knowledgeable with the options, and for not too much I ended up getting a rear view camera and screen that I didn't even know could be added to my car! Now I've got Apple Car Play as well, the tunes sound great, and I'm not holding my phone in my hand when I need GPS! I would definitely recommend Sonic Sound highly. read more

Kevin was very helpful and fair with troubleshooting a noise issue on a high end audio system in my Tahoe. In and out in less than 2 hours with noise completely gone. Mark ( installation), is awesome! Very knowledgeable fixed it quickly, perfect now, thanks!! Highly recommend. Craig R read more

No surprises and paid exactly what was quoted. The dashcam was installed faster than expected which was also very nice. The technician(s) are very knowledgeable and walk you through all of the options of where you'd like everything installed and the features of your specific camera. They are certainly a better deal than going to the dealership. Not a big deal, but wish maybe a quick wipe down of the glass would be nice (finger prints). Really can't complain. My wife had her dashcam installed here as well over a year ago and has been very happy. You do need to call ahead. Don't expect to drop by and they will have an open time slot. They do a very clean install with hiding the wires and I would recommend this shop to my friends. read more

I took my first work van into sonic sound in 2010 and had them install an alarm system with vehicle tracking and a stereo system with a subwoofer and they did an amazing job! 16 years later when I got a new work van, I had them do the same and they did a great job! I also had them install a dash cam that records the front and rear the vehicle as well! If you're looking to get a sound system, an alarm system, or a dash cam install installed I highly recommend sonic sound! read more

Kevin and Sonic Sound were awesome in installing an aftermarket remote start kit and window tinting for my hooptie. Their immediate response and willingness to help with a self-induced post install problem was second to none and they ensured my satisfaction with work well done! I strongly recommend them!!! To top it all off, Kevin was more than prepared to offer me a break on any follow-on cost that my blunder may have caused! read more

Last week was about the 5th time we have used Sonic Sound over the past 20 years for radio upgrades in our older cars. Today's installation was somewhat expensive as usual, but again, flawless. These guys know what they are doing and are terrific to work with. They explain things simply but thoroughly. This time they installed a new in-dash JVC CarPlay receiver w/screen, back up camera and backup rear sensors w/audio alarm. Our recently purchased 2007 Hyundai Tucson is in cherry condition but lacked these safety features. It is so sweet to be able to backup with confidence. We R very pleased again. read more

The shop is low-key, Kevin and Mark are awesome. My 4Runner was really complicated took over a month, most of the work was gratis. Mark eventually sorted everything out and put it back together. My 4Runner is once again awesome. If you want instant service go to Best buy, if you professional help and customer satisfaction, Sonic Sound rocks. Mike read more

Clear communication, helpful team, I had a new car audio system done, they did a great job, discussed options, explained trade-offs. Flexible on service times. Great quality installation. They're old school, so go in and talk to them, they are understandably leery of estimating over the phone given all the variables. Recommend. read more

Poor customer service when I called to make an appointment which led me to not quite trust this business with Dashcam installation for my $125k vehicle. They just didn't seem to have the caliber to deliver a refined service. read more

Super awesome and accommodating. Even though I only needed a small job done on my car, they were very flexible and able to fit me in. The waiting area was comfortable too, with really nice chairs. Overall a great experience and I'd definitely recommend them. read more

What would be your fee to install a camera in my car with both front and rear views. I also want something that doesn't have wires hanging all over the place... It could be a unit with hidden wiring or one that only requires battery changes or recharges. What brands would you recommend? read more

Had them install a Sony radio more than 2 years ago (no longer under warranty) in my Jeep Wrangler and recently just stop turning on. Did both soft and hard reset according to manual. Nothing seems to work figure it may be just dead. Call them and told me to bring in the next day. After 30 min, they told me it is fixed with another reset method and no charge. Talk about customer service and stand by their work after 2+ years! read more

Professional installation. Quality products and excellent customer support by Kevin and his team.

Excellent customer service and very honest staff. I had an issue with my subwoofer and JL audio told me to bring it to a dealer to analyze. I thought it was blown but they told me it was not and recommended I change the amp fuse which I did. Quick service I highly recommend. You can see their work on the Instagram page read more

I was having problems with the radio in my Porsche 911. I had been to a few shops. Solutions ranged from replace the whole radio to can't do "nuttin". Called Kevin at Sonic and made an appointment. I got there early and Kevin said let's take a look. Literally within 2 minutes he resolved the problem. My Sirius radio was routed through the FM modulator. Kevin said just turn off the Sirius radio when you want to listen to local stations. It worked. He didn't charge me. I tell you that kind of honesty is hard to find. A place with honesty and knowledge is a place to take your business. Thanks so much!!! Jerry read more

Just picked up my Forester from Sonic Sound and had to share--the attention to detail and service were fantastic! I had a remote start installed, which is not simple in an older Subaru. To complicate matters, I was doing some other DIY stuff to the car (more on this later). Their price was competitive and they were able to schedule me less than a week out, and they called the day before to confirm. I dropped the car in the morning before they opened and dropped the key in the drop box. They called after opening to share things they saw in a walkaround and confirm what we were doing to the Forester. Anyone who does work on their car will tell you that every job takes longer than expected; mine was no exception. I went to pick up the car later in the day and they were prepping it to hand me the keys, but then something happened and the car started throwing codes. We tried a few things but the car was not going home with me at the end of the day because they wanted it to be right vs. right now. Fair. I made other arrangements to get home, and they called me after hours to tell me they'd figured out the issue, and discovered that my DIY project had left an uncovered wire that touched bare metal and blew a fuse. Ugh! My fault. Anyway, I came back the next morning to pick up my car; it was all ready and they were very gracious about my error. Demonstrated how the remote start worked and recapped all they did. In the end, the showed me that they cared most about doing the job right and solving a problem for me--even one they hadn't created. Very grateful, and I hope if you're in the market for sound, alarm, remote start, or other equipment they sell, you'll give them your business. I'll be back... read more

I was referred here from another shop (Safe & Sound) for installation of some LED bulbs for my 04 VW GTI. I purchased the bulbs thinking I could install them myself and while I completed the passenger side, I ran into issues with the driver's side installation. I called on a weekend and made an appointment for a Tuesday. Sonic Sound was able to complete the install in the same afternoon, so I was able to take the bus that day over lunch and after work. Also, even though I was quoted 1x hour of labor, the job took over two hours. Kevin only charged me for 1x hour. Great customer service! read more

Made a reservation for car window tinting a few days ahead and arrived on a Friday afternoon. They must of been a bit busy because I had to wait 30 mins but that's ok since patience is a virtue right? The service took 2 hours. They have a bunch of couches and a large TV you can watch while you wait. Over all the ting job was very good. My only complaint is that the stickers they use to cover your window buttons don't completely come off. As you can see in my pictures it might be a pain to get the residue off my buttons. read more

I couldn't be happier with the service at Sonic Sound! They did an amazing job on both the audio system and window tint for my vehicle. Kevin and his team is professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do and after a decade of doing business with them service is still the same as day one. The sound quality is phenomenal, and the tint is flawless--exactly what I was looking for. Awesome service getting my windows tinted (passenger and driver's side). The job was done about 5 years ago and figured that it was time to write a review. The tint is still holding up great. I was a walk-in customer. I selected the darkest legal tint. I could of even obtained limo tint; no thanks, as I don't want to ride dirty; illegal in VA. Lol. Swift service. Mention Yelp and they will give you a discount. Quality job. I highly recommend them. Support small business!! read more

I got my Lexus tinted here almost 5 years ago with SunTek film at legal limits. At the time I was very critical of all shops offering tint because I know there is a big difference between good tint jobs, good quality tint film and those that are poor jobs and poor film. Just wanted to report that after 5 years, the film has held up just like day one with no issues whatsoever. No fading, bubbling, peeling, nothing. I'm very happy I spent the extra couple hundred dollars and didn't have to look back or deal with revisions. read more

My wife has a 2016 car and she wanted to add a new head unit, front and rear back up cameras and blind spot monitors. We brought it one car audio shop and they just wanted to install the head unit and rear back up camera only but was willing to add the other requests only if the factory speakers and amp were upgraded as well since it would be a "complex" job for them and charge us $7000. We then went to see Kevin and he was willing to do the work at a reasonable price. He did not try to upsell us which was appreciated but gave us the different options that would work for the car. We then set up a time to drop off the the car but when we got the car back, the blind spot monitors were not working as described. We called Kevin and he just told us to bring the car in. He could not get the blind spot monitors to work initially so he ordered new parts and when we brought the car back a 3rd time, Kevin and his crew got everything working. Despite the inconvenience, we were very happy with the communication (Kevin would actually call with updates) and the fact that they stood behind their products and workmanship. When we brought the problem to their attention, they worked to fix it and made no excuses. Would recommend and use again. read more

The real deal. I had an Apple CarPlay installed in a 2010 Audi S4 (come on, Audi doesn't make sticks anymore). The instal was clean, but had some hiccups. Staff there said bring it back and installed a new unit. Real easy going, explained the process, great follow up. Class act shop. read more

This is a preliminary review. I am currently sitting in the lobby waiting for my car to get done (tint job). Kevin was extremely accommodating and via Yelp, explained price quote and got me an appointment the same day! When I walked they were super friendly. He explained the tints and legality of the tints. Very frank and I liked that they did not give me 12 diff options. The price quote is cheaper than other places. The lobby is clean, has a tv with cable! And super comfy couches!! The bathroom is clean. From the very start 5 stars. He was super quick to respond back to me with a quote. Hence why I am here today. I highly recommend just from the customer service and storefront alone. I will see the work and update. read more

*THIS RATING IS SOLELY BASED ON MY INITIAL INTERACTION WITH THE COMPANY AND NOT THE QUALITY OF WORK* I wanted a quote to replace the component speakers in my truck (not the rear), and they told me $800 with the entry level kicker speakers. I mentioned what if I bought the speakers individually? He told me labor would be a whopping $400.... What? The speakers are $400 based off the original quote, I thought to myself? It's almost as if they wanted to punish me for buying speakers elsewhere. Instead, I went ahead and bought the same kicker speakers $116 and $80 for the rear speakers, watched a few YouTube videos and installed the front and rear speakers myself in a few hours... I realized it was extremely simple, so I'm glad I didn't go to Sonic Sound where they price gauge the speakers and charge an astronomical amount for labor... ridiculous. I saved over $500 installing them myself read more

Kevin and his colleagues at Sonic installed a car radio for us when I quickly realized my plan to install it myself was not going to work. They did the work in just a few hours for a reasonable price. What especially impressed me, though, was a conversation I overheard between Kevin and a customer looking for a basic car radio system. Once the customer expressed the desire for a lower-end system, Kevin made no attempt to up-sell, but focused on the customer's preferences. Highly recommend their services! read more
