Last week was about the 5th time we have used Sonic Sound over the past 20 years for radio upgrades in our older cars. Today's installation was somewhat expensive as usual, but again, flawless. These guys know what they are doing and are terrific to work with. They explain things simply but thoroughly. This time they installed a new in-dash JVC CarPlay receiver w/screen, back up camera and backup rear sensors w/audio alarm. No surprises and paid exactly what was quoted. The dashcam was installed faster than expected which was also very nice. The technician(s) are very knowledgeable and walk you through all of the options of where you'd like everything installed and the features of your specific camera. They are certainly a better deal than going to the dealership. Not a big deal, but wish maybe a quick wipe down of the glass would be nice (finger prints). Really can't complain. My wife had her dashcam installed here as well over a year ago and has been very happy. You do need to call ahead. Don't expect to drop by and they will have an open time slot. Had them install a Sony radio more than 2 years ago (no longer under warranty) in my Jeep Wrangler and recently just stop turning on. Did both soft and hard reset according to manual. Nothing seems to work figure it may be just dead. Call them and told me to bring in the next day. After 30 min, they told me it is fixed with another reset method and no charge. Just picked up my Forester from Sonic Sound and had to share--the attention to detail and service were fantastic! I had a remote start installed, which is not simple in an older Subaru. To complicate matters, I was doing some other DIY stuff to the car (more on this later). Their price was competitive and they were able to schedule me less than a week out, and they called the day before to confirm. I dropped the car in the morning before they opened and dropped the key in the drop box. They called after opening to share things they saw in a walkaround and confirm what we were doing to the Forester. Anyone who does work on their car will tell you that every job takes longer than expected; mine was no exception. I went to pick up the car later in the day and they were prepping it to hand me the keys, but then something happened and the car started throwing codes. We tried a few things but the car was not going home with me at the end of the day because they wanted it to be right vs. right now. Fair. I made other arrangements to get home, and they called me after hours to tell me they'd figured out the issue, and discovered that my DIY project had left an uncovered wire that touched bare metal and blew a fuse. Ugh! My fault. Anyway, I came back the next morning to pick up my car; it was all ready and they were very gracious about my error. Demonstrated how the remote start worked and recapped all they did. In the end, the showed me that they cared most about doing the job right and solving a problem for me--even one they hadn't created. I was having problems with the radio in my Porsche 911. I had been to a few shops. Solutions ranged from replace the whole radio to can't do "nuttin". Called Kevin at Sonic and made an appointment. I got there early and Kevin said let's take a look. Literally within 2 minutes he resolved the problem. My Sirius radio was routed through the FM modulator. Kevin said just turn off the Sirius radio when you want to listen to local stations. It worked. He didn't charge me. I tell you that kind of honesty is hard to find. I was referred here from another shop (Safe & Sound) for installation of some LED bulbs for my 04 VW GTI. I purchased the bulbs thinking I could install them myself and while I completed the passenger side, I ran into issues with the driver's side installation. I called on a weekend and made an appointment for a Tuesday. Sonic Sound was able to complete the install in the same afternoon, so I was able to take the bus that day over lunch and after work. Made a reservation for car window tinting a few days ahead and arrived on a Friday afternoon. They must of been a bit busy because I had to wait 30 mins but that's ok since patience is a virtue right? The service took 2 hours. They have a bunch of couches and a large TV you can watch while you wait. Over all the ting job was very good. My only complaint is that the stickers they use to cover your window buttons don't completely come off. As you can see in my pictures it might be a pain to get the residue off my buttons. read more

I mentioned what if I bought the speakers individually? He told me labor would be a whopping $400.... What? The speakers are $400 based off the original quote, I thought to myself? It's almost as if they wanted to punish me for buying speakers elsewhere. Instead, I went ahead and bought the same kicker speakers $116 and $80 for the rear speakers, watched a few YouTube videos and installed the front and rear speakers myself in a few hours... I realized it was extremely simple, so I'm glad I didn't go to Sonic Sound where they price gauge the speakers and charge an astronomical amount for labor... ridiculous. I got my Lexus tinted here almost 5 years ago with SunTek film at legal limits. At the time I was very critical of all shops offering tint because I know there is a big difference between good tint jobs, good quality tint film and those that are poor jobs and poor film. Just wanted to report that after 5 years, the film has held up just like day one with no issues whatsoever. No fading, bubbling, peeling, nothing. My wife has a 2016 car and she wanted to add a new head unit, front and rear back up cameras and blind spot monitors. We brought it one car audio shop and they just wanted to install the head unit and rear back up camera only but was willing to add the other requests only if the factory speakers and amp were upgraded as well since it would be a "complex" job for them and charge us $7000. We then went to see Kevin and he was willing to do the work at a reasonable price. He did not try to upsell us which was appreciated but gave us the different options that would work for the car. We then set up a time to drop off the the car but when we got the car back, the blind spot monitors were not working as described. We called Kevin and he just told us to bring the car in. He could not get the blind spot monitors to work initially so he ordered new parts and when we brought the car back a 3rd time, Kevin and his crew got everything working. Despite the inconvenience, we were very happy with the communication (Kevin would actually call with updates) and the fact that they stood behind their products and workmanship. When we brought the problem to their attention, they worked to fix it and made no excuses. Would recommend and use again. read more

Kevin was extremely accommodating and via Yelp, explained price quote and got me an appointment the same day! When I walked they were super friendly. He explained the tints and legality of the tints.
