I needed a new AV system (infotainment system) for my 2016 Toyota Camry. I called this business and they suggested I come on over for an estimate. I did that, and met with Frank and he was very informative on what would work for me, how he could save me a few dollars and when I could get the unit installed. I went back a week later and he did a fantastic job with what I requested! It took less time than he originally estimated and he was very personable the entire time. He answered all my questions and even helped me program the unit before I went on my way. I highly recommend this business and am very happy with my result. A worker there, named Alex, was very helpful as well. read more

Awesome local car stereo shop in Fairfax, VA. My daughter was preparing for a trip home from Fairfax to San Antonio this week and her backup camera stopped working. The car audio system was not functioning properly and she dropped it off with Frank at Car Stereo System's. Frank replaced the backup camera and tuned the audio system and amplifier with a day turnaround. If you live in Fairfax or have family attending George Mason, Frank is your local, one stop shop for your car audio needs. Frank is a local supporter of George Mason, and we highly recommend his store and services. read more

Frank and his team were awesome! Helped talked me through the options for an upgrade to my wife's van for Christmas and made sure I understood the options and pricing before I settled on a product. Install was perfect and took less than a day with no issues. We couldn't be happier and so glad I stopped by to see Frank and his professional team! Very friendly, knowledgeable, and competent. Frank and Eddie are fantastic. I brought my sons car in with aftermarket apple radio that he had purchased. They quoted me a price and a timeframe to complete. Frank said it was basically a custom job. It completed on time and on budget. It looks like it was installed as a factory component. Extremely professional and on top of it really great guys. read more

Frank (owner) and his mechanics are the best. Competent, committed and NOT out to make a buck off you. You don't just purchase a stereo from this team, you've got a trustworthy partner for all your automotive needs. There may be places that are cheaper (although not much; they are very competitive) but you aren't going to find people you can trust more than Frank and his team. They stand behind their work and do way more than just install stereos. They are a world-class automotive operation you can go to for all your automotive needs and solid advice. If you have one number in your phone for automotive needs it needs to be Frank's at Car Stereo. I will never go anywhere else. read more

I bought a CarPlay update for my 2012 BMW from BimmerTech, which is a BMW-only private brand that isn't sold at this shop. The install is hardware only -- it's like a second brain for the legacy head unit and iDrive system already in place in the vehicle. Frank was familiar with and complimentary of BimmerTech, so I felt I had gone to the right place. The head unit stays so it's a matter of getting the module (the size of a brick paver) behind the system so it's all nice and pretty. This is something I was not at all willing or capable of doing myself. Frank and Eddie installed this unit throughly for vehicle in about 7 hours (it's a tight squeeze to get it in) and I'm thrilled. It works like a dream and my iDrive is still the main brain. This is a wonderful shop: local and independent. We gotta keep these niche shops running! Highly recommend. Wasn't cheap, because it's hard to get behind all that stuff that looks nice, but you get what you pay for. read more

We needed a spare tire swapped back to the original tire, and put back under the truck. I don't remember the guys name OMG !! Anyway he did what we needed and was super amicable . I kept thinking , this guy knows whats what . Even though it's an audio shop , they also service and sell tires. If you want a decent deal and treatment you should check them out. read more

These guys were honest, competent, and fast. I came in with some vague ideas about upgrading the audio in my family van. Eddie told me what changes were worth while and which weren't. We settled on a simple speaker upgrade for the front of the van, and they turned it around in a few hours the same day. The new setup sounds great - much more clear and still looks stock (like I wanted). I saw good reviews here when researching, and am glad they lived up to them. read more

Came in today in kind of a hurry. Explained to my man that I right jabbed my head unit and needed a new one. Without making fun of me, the proprietor went to work quickly. He didn't upsell me and caught that I just wanted to fix the problem and move on. He hooked me up with a grounding cable so that I could use my Apple play and got me back out in way less time than a Best Buy or similar spot would have. I highly recommend this business--they are professionally run and know their stuff. read more

I love this business! Frank was so funny and really credible when purchasing products. He was super honest with what value is best, and allowed me to understand what was being purchased! He is installing an apple car play for me, and I am so excited, he made this experience great! read more

Frank is the man!!!! At first yes I was hesitant given a new system totalled to almost 2,000...worth IT! so so worth it. He could tell I was an impatient person. I was just done with my Acura my car died radio gps locked all of it. It was honestly cheaper to get a new system than to get a new car esp right now...but I will still go back and get one when I do get a new car! Huge huge difference... definitely gonna get some speakers! FYI the issues I had were MY phone. I thought the system was bad...my phone had a virus. So, if anything is wrong call him and he will fix it, or tell you how. Technology is crazy now. He was super fast as well knowing I needed my car back before two days. Highly recommend! Yes most inconvenient place to drive to, turned around 6 times, kinda jumps out at you...like anywhere in Fairfax City. Get the new upgraded system. If you love music, you will love it too much to be mad about the money spent. Also...get the bypass!!!! Thank God I did, and researched it. Don't get a new system without the dam bypass for another $100 because then you might waste $$. read more

Just went in yesterday for a new sub, ended up buying 2 plus an amp. Frank is the man. If you come to him with a budget and an idea for what kind of sound you're looking for, he can make sure you get what you want. I bit the bullet and went with 2 subs because I knew there was a chance I'd want to crank it up in the future. Frank told me I would not be disappointed and he was not lying. Thank you Frank! Not to much of a big selection mostly outdated equipment, I wanted to buy a head unit but for my price range witch was more than fair was about 250$ for one i found at best buy for 99$ with installation in their sales paper + the parts. Im not hating on this place but there so many more options in a 15-20 mile radius I think the owner should consider reducing his prices instead looks at people like there walking atm machines CHA CHING read more

Car Stereo Systems - Car Stereo Installation Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

They installed a great sound system in my convertible a few years ago. This past weekend it stopped working. I checked the fuses and connections to no avail, so I called Frank at Car Stevo Systems. He told me to bring it right in. In 10 minutes they had diagnosed the problem and restored power. I asked how much this repair cost, and Frank answered, "No charge. I stand by my work." I highly recommend Car Stereo Systems. read more

I'm a car audio novice. I chose this shop based on Yelp reviews. My 2003 Honda pilot sounded like crap. I'm only going to keep it about 5 more years and didn't want to pay a lot to trick it out, just to get it back to basic function. I asked Frank if I needed new speakers. He passed up the opportunity to sell me speakers and/or an amplifier to power the subwoofer, and instead just sold and installed a new radiohead, CD and processor unit. Exactly what I need to be back on the road. He said it would take about 2 hours. I left the car and my phone rang 2 hours and 10 minutes later - work done. On the question of parts and labor costs raised by earlier reviews from Bob K and Chuck I: If you're a handy audiophile who knows exactly what you want; which adapter parts are needed and how to install them, you might be frustrated to pay Northern Virginia prices for "something you could do yourself." But from the perspective of a suburban dad with few free hours on a weekend, I was grateful to pay the parts and install cost (more than the component) because I understood I was paying for the knowledge of what I needed and the convenience of having it in stock. I've reached the point in my life where I'm pleased to reward technical competence and outstanding service. The challenge becomes finding a trustworthy shop that won't take advantage of your ignorance. That's this place. PS I didn't really realize how weak the factory sound system in my car was until I heard this replacement. Instead of coming in when something breaks, I'll bring my next new car in for an upgrade. read more

My Toyota Corolla front speakers went out. Dealership quoted $900 to replace. I decided against it and bought my speakers online. However, when I called around various auto shops nobody was willing to do the installation using my own speakers. Frank agreed to do the job the next day. He did the job in 1 hour. Didn't charge me extra for additional modifications required. He was very professional and nice and I felt like he went above and beyond for me. Offered good advice. I'll definitely go back for any future car related needs. read more

Frank is awesome! He didn't push us into any system and listened to our wants and needs. We bought a deck for our 2010 Tacoma. He had all the supplies. Definitely going back when we are ready to upgrade our speakers. read more

What can I say, Frank is amazing. I received a new stereo head unit for my 2008 Dodge Avenger for Christmas. After obtaining the necessary parts and finding out Best Buy couldn't install it for almost two weeks, I found these guys and they did it the same day in an hour! The install was flawless, they were able to use the parts I brought them and everything looks and sounds phenomenal. I was worried about how the Bluetooth Mic would be installed and found they had perfectly routed the wiring above my rear-view mirror. No more wires hanging anywhere and the system looks exactly like it belongs! I couldn't be happier with the price and workmanship! Thanks so much guys! read more

Frank and his team did a great job installing a stereo system in my car whose factory system had stopped working. From good advice in choosing a system, to scheduling and doing the work, everything went smooth. He stands by his work and even helped (for free) diagnosing a minor post installation issue that were related to my unclean battery terminals & wasn't even his fault. Over a year later, the system is working great. Highly recommended! read more

I needed some complicated wiring done on my new car. Having some special equipment installed. I was referred to CSS by an auto body shop. Frank and his team made suggestions (which I'm thankful for) and was very complete with an estimate on the costs. The work was performed quickly and I'm so impressed with what a great job they did. Everything looks and works like it were factory installed. I highly recommend Car Stereo Systems. read more

These guys are good people. Frank and Alex helped me out when my new car's old security system started flipping out, and helped me put in a brand new one. Very fair and knowledgeable. I plan to go back when I upgrade my car audio. read more

Can't recommend them enough. Please go to Frank and his team for your custom car audio needs! My situation was that I had a bunch of gear i wanted to install in my subaru, i was able to do the tweeters but the subwoofer had me at my wits end. Frank and team were able to install everything flawlessly for a fair price - it was a tough job and would have taken me days. I had checked with Best Buy, and while their quoted price was a little cheaper, their wait list was over a month! Frank got me in the same day, even if that meant them staying a little late. Additionally, they take their time and really want repeat business - if you go to a big box place you will just be a number in line and they will want to get you in and out as fast as possible. I will return in the future! read more

I came to Car Stereo Systems to get my replacement alarm charger programmed to my car. Service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend.

There are definite pros and cons to Car Stereo Systems, strong both ways. Pros: Good selection of components Excellent work done They will take time to explain how everything works Friendly Cons: Prices are very high after they add in the kits needed. Their kit prices are priced much much higher than standard. Impressions: I feel like they did a very good job. However, I blame myself for not taking my time and doing something I usually do: taking a good look at the bottom line and comparing to what I should have paid. The kits I paid so much for are definitely available elsewhere for much less or even free. Crutchfield's is a good place to check, but I was in a hurry and didn't. Shame on me. Would I use them again? Maybe. But I wouldn't be in such a hurry to close the deal. read more

These guys charged me more than double installation price for a simple job because my car was high profile. They were very nice and amicable though -- killing me softly. Pass. EDIT : Sorry Frank but you almost triple charged me for a radar detector installation when I was in VA. I never forget when I've been ripped off. It took less than one hour and you charged over $225. No parts. read more

So after going about a month with my Sirius on my aftermarket head-unit not working, I finally had enough and trekked over to Car Stereo Systems on my lunch break. The inside of the store brought me back to my import modeling days as I was surrounded by displays of street glow ground effects, amps, woofers, etc...Frank was extremely helpful and they were able to diagnose the problem (broken tuner and beat up antenna) and fix it all in a little over an hour. They even installed the antenna on the inside (according to them it will help the life of the antenna last longer). It was a nice experience and I would recommend them in the future! read more

Frank and his team made a great impression on me from the jump! I wasn't a customer at the time but his attentiveness and respect was above par.
