I want to give Capitol Shine a 5 star review as a long time customer, but I just can't. For being in Arlington, they are probably the best detail shop if you need a detail. Very thorough, and while their price is high it's in line with the area. The issue I had was with their tint jobs. I've had 5 vehicles tinted at Capitol Shine, and while the first 4 were absolutely flawless, the 5th one had to be redone *three* separate times for major issues -- I'm not talking about a little speck of dust here or there, but major contamination. The final time they tinted the last vehicle, they ended up damaging the leather in the car by letting the tinting spray sit on the leather under the window for too long. To their credit, they apologized and refunded me for the tint job -- but I still had to go and have the leather replaced, which was a major pain in the ass. So, if you're looking for detailing - A+ work. If you're looking for tinting, be careful. read more

Update: the prices are very high. I misread the Initial price quote for window tint. It was way more expensive from the other quotes I got on yelp. I am sure they do a fantastic job. They provided very fair prices*** which also happened to beat a majority of the other people who responded to my project request. You were very quick to respond. Once I got a really good quote. I bought a 5 year old convertible in good shape but there were some old stains in the headliner and seatbelts that were driving me crazy. Capitol Shine did a remarkable interior detail job - the car feels almost new. Their communication and scheduling were excellent. I felt extremely well taken care of by Mike and Kim. they got some old coffee stands out that I really didn't know whether they would be able to ... But they spent six hours on the car and were very successful. This was a premium price, but it was also a premium service that was commensurate with the price so it was a very good value. we brought our vintage Mercedes in for a window tint based on a friend's recommendation. They did a great job - expensive but worth it.

I wanted to have a Can-Am windshield tinted. Was ask to see the project ok so I went to the location. The tinted called the manager and he was told to tell me "They don't do this work" because the tint film does not adhere to plastic. I ask how much would it cost to do the job I was told $250.00 because they get $450.00 for car windshields. There Customer Service is not the best and I feel they are Extremely Over-priced. Other Tinter's in the area charge between $75.-$150 to do the project. read more

Relatively unimpressed. Had a tint job done on my wife's car and left a huge crease in the windshield tint and specks of dust in both front windows. They redid the front windshield but stated the specks are normal and since they're not in a controlled environment they can't make it perfect. Every other tint place would just re do it instead of making excuses. Although it's not affecting visibility I know it's there which is annoying. Also annoying to take more time out to get it redone. Take it to another tint shop that will stand by their work. read more

I had been wanting to get my front windows tinted on my car for a while. I sent in a request and Hershel got back to me promptly, gave me some different options for tint. I just got the windows done today and they look great just what I wanted. The staff sent clear instructions on how to get to them, they are located in a parking garage of an office building, but they will explain how to get there when you set up your appointment. Overall I thought the price was pretty reasonable for what was done, the XPEL tinting does have a warranty too, so I'm hoping these hold up for as long as I have my car which I'm planning on keeping for a long time. Depending on the service you're having done you can wait, or leave your vehicle. I waited, luckily in the building there was a nice large lobby area with some couches and tables so I was able to do some work while I waited too. Would definitely recommend! read more

I so appreciate Capitol shine for doing the full PPF wrap on our Tesla X, tint, and interior ceramic coating on the white seats. I got the best rate in town on that entire package. They were very thorough with the work; it all took 5 days. They have a paint and body person that will come fix minor things for a $250 min fee plus the body work and additional $200. If you have rim or tire rash, don't get their people to do it, I'd recommend getting that somewhere else (Wheel Repair pro ,LLC, also in Arlington) and they fix road rash on rims in 3 hours or less for $210 and repair tires like new. Regarding Capitol Shine, I only wish there was directions on what watch for or how to protect it, after our service, that way I know how to protect the work they did. . read more

It isn't the cleanest wrap (although 1 this is my first wrap I've had done and 2 I'm sure it's tough to get every nook and cranny perfect), but I'm happy with it. They were able to get me in on a Saturday and I picked up the car the following morning - they're not typically open on Sundays but they were able to get me in for the pickup anyway, great customer service! I have used other auto detailing companies in the area but they would still leave parts of my car uncleaned and other options were more expensive than Capitol Shine. I have taken my SUV to Capitol Shine multiple times over the years and they always provide top-notch service! My car comes back looking brand new! They were even able to remove stains from my car covers that other auto detailers were unable to (or refused) to clean. So bad that I am too embarassed to provide "before" photos. I'd like your clients to know you charged a 12 year client a premium fee for professional XPEL wrap service - and after FOUR treks back to your shop, the wrap is still in poor condition (bubbling, peeling, missing parts not installed before delivery). The fee was reasonable. The quality and the hostility to own the mistake and mediate - unprofessional. BUYER BEWARE before trusting a quality vehicle for XPEL - do your homework. Customer service was in touch with me immediately and offered to reclean my car at no charge. They did a great job the 2nd time around. I'm still a little annoyed that I had to bring my car back but I'm glad that they were able to clean my store. After paying $175 for an interior shampoo only (not even an exterior car wash was included) I was told that they weren't able to remove the stain I made the appointment for. That's ridiculous. I arrived 5 hours later pick up my car and saw no change in my car seat. I won't be returning or recommending capitol shine to anyone. I know that cloth seats are difficult to clean so if you claim that you can do it follow through is so important. I'll be sure to add photos. read more

Don't use this place for paint correction or anything major with your cars paint...they are only good at tint, wraps, and car wash. They are located in a parking garage lower level with zero natural sunlight so they will never know what your paint looks like in the sunlight, before or after they do their poor job. They left a test square in my hood and roof after I paid nearly $2000 to have the whole car look like the test spot. Then when I asked them to blend it and remove the hideous square they said its my paint and they can't fix it, only charge me $1000 more to cover it with wrap. Ludicrous! read more

I brought my 2010 Toyota Corolla in for my first ever full interior/exterior detailing/cleaning. While most of the vehicle was cleaned, there were multiple areas missed to include the pockets near the hand brake, deep under the driver/passenger seats, and some markings on the interior ceiling. There were also multiple marks from dead bug on the front bumper/hood that they couldn't remove. But they explained that those weren't able to be removed because they were stuck on the paint for too long. I didn't argue much because by then, I was already over it. But for the $200+ I paid, I expect there not to be any obvious dirt spots missed. Upon getting the call that the car was ready, I arrived to pick up my car, and I brought the discrepancies to the workers' attention and it was quickly re-cleaned. But I had to point out each individual spot one by one, which added an additional 30 minutes to me standing there waiting. The cup holder divider was also missing and it took the workers several phone calls to figure out where it was located. It was eventually found in one of the cleaning buckets in their cage. Overall, I had a fairly disappointing first experience for a car cleaning/detailing. I unfortunately didn't take any photos of the examples specified as I was too focused on them fixing the issue. read more
