This is going to be a long winded review with listed issues and a general review of the before, during, and after completion of the project. Initial consult was fine. Met with Will who came out to take measurements, give general layout advice, and eventually provide a rendering. Before any build or contract was signed we ran into our first issue that continued to mid build which was our wants for the pool were not communicated. We had a retaining wall that was to be taken down and rebuilt at our expense(about $7,000). After some debating we opted to have a heat pump installed which cost a little more ($8,500) in lieu of rebuilding the wall as the cost was almost the same. I have provided screen shot messages of the discussion regarding this and confirming NO to the wall rebuild and YES to the heat pump install. (See screen shot of iMessages) We had not discovered this until midway/ close to ending of the build (post electrical/pump install) and by the time we caught it and called to discuss it, they told us over the phone the cost to install a heat pump is now $15,000. I'm not sure if they just didn't want to do the labor or provide the parts or what the reason was for the up charge now but it all came across kind of scammy. Meeting with Tamme to pick our pool tile was great, she guided us patiently and answered every single question we had for her. I'd even call her at random times during the week to ask a question and she would answer no problem INITIALLY. As the weeks progressed, communication dwindled with Sac Pool Pros. Initially we would get phone calls in the beginning of the week with a detailed plan of what to expect. After about a month it turned into workers just showing up to the house. We felt left in the dark and when we did reach out to Sac Pool Pros about concerns/problems encountered the concerns were not addressed until weeks later. Tammie however is great, I'm giving the positive 2 stars solely for her customer service otherwise it would be 1 star. One major problem we came across was the first step into the pool, when they had finished the gunite and tiling we realized this step was way too deep (17 inches) and also extremely small (potential hazard stepping in a out of the pool). I called them about this and they made the step larger and higher (11 inch step down). This I am happy with and am glad it got taken care of. The concrete work is sloppy and rough (see pictures). The skimmer lid looks like a 3 year old slapped on some putty on. It is rough all the way around, the edges look crumbled even though it is brand new. The drains around the pool look like they were chewed up and rough...again this is brand new concert. There are multiple cracks around the pool which are not wider than a penny so I guess it's fine according to Sac Pool Pros, but it is hard to look at them right at the entrance of our "brand new" $80k pool. The concrete wasn't sealed so it soaks up little mark or stain and if it isn't scrubbed right away, it's a gamble if it's going to be permanent or not. From my understanding it's pretty standard to seal brand new concrete around a pool with a non skid sealant (according to all other budget builders). Now onto dealing with the aftermath. They dug out a whole concrete post to take our fence down in order to gain access, then after they finished the project, threw the post to the side and used 8 screws to prop up the fence in hopes a light breeze doesn't knock it down. (See pictures) They dug up our entire yard to run the pipes, put the dirt back and called it done. Fair enough actually it does say landscaping is to be covered by owner, but they couldn't even put the fence back the way they removed it? Not to mention the opposite side of the house access gate got completely torn up, random screws sticking out and in the ground to hold it down, just a shoddy job, looks like slop just thrown together. Again with the price we paid it's a hard pill to swallow at the quality of the work. Included was 5 weeks of pool maintenance post project. No real complaints there, except when I tried to reach out to the person who does the education and teaching for the pool equipment, we basically got ghosted. Luckily Google is a thing. It has been about 6 months since we have had our pool, we love the pool and do not regret having it. With the cost of the pool build we expected better work and to be completely satisfied...Even now we are finding the mess left behind and having to deal with a broken fence etc. TL;DR -They will mess your property and fence up then leave it to you to fix. (Pictures) -Great initial communication then subpar as the project progresses -The concrete work is shoddy at best, lines aren't clean, cracks all over the place, all the trim and edges look beat up and not like a brand new build. I requested quotes from about 10 different pool companies. Only 4 responded, and just 3 actually came out for an estimate. Out of all of them, Sac Pool Pro was the only one who showed up on time, provided a quote promptly, and followed up afterward. They had me pay 50% upfront, and demanded final payment day-of, before job was complete. Never came back to fix or finish work. I got excuses on the phone, and never kept appointments. I reached out to Sac Pool Pros to get a quote on a pool for our backyard. They promised me a call back in 48 hours after about three days without a call back I reached back out to make sure they had the correct number etc. They again promised someone would reach out to me within a day. No call again. So I gave up. Three days later a sales person, Tommy, finally reached out. Decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and schedule an estimate for the next Saturday at 9am. Saturday morning came and Tommy completely no showed. I tried calling and texting and no contact. If the sales side of this company is like this. I would hate to see how the project managers and construction crews are. Red flags! I'm avoiding moving forward. Update: Sac Pools reached out to me about this sales person. Revising to 3 stars pending the new person coming and making the experience right. 2nd update. Revising back down to a one star. Worst communication for a company I have ever delt with, especially before they even made a sale. A new sales person came out right away after my first experience. Even got a quote, design and revised design. I sent a list of questions and it's now been radio silence again for 3 days. Shouldn't have given them a second chance. I reached out to Sac Pool Pros in June to get a quote after not getting responses from local pool builders. I submitted an online request and was contacted the same day, Chris was at my house the next day to discuss what I wanted. Sac Pool Pros did a great job on our pool. The service was good, but there were some details lacking in the preparation of the pool. Some prior irrigation was not capped casing some minor challenges with the new concrete. But overall the work was good and we are super happy with our pool and hot tub. Around a year after completion we had some water line tiles fall off due to the pool settling in the ground. They covered the repair under warranty and came and fixed the issues.
