Giant shout out to Antonio @ North Star Pools, they should change their name to 5 Star cos that's what they deserve, all day long! Best quote out of 5 companies, showed up 48hrs later after the bid was signed and had the whole pool done in TWO days with NO issues...I'm still in shock! I was told by the other companies it could take up to a month. No down payment up front, no up-selling for things I didn't want or need, basically no BS, just an honest man running a great business, I was impressed. Antonio kept in contact throughout the whole job and he has an amazing team who have transformed my 20yr old pool back to beautiful again. Call them, you won't regret it!!!! read more

I beg you, I beseech you, I am absolutely pleading with you: If you need a pool contractor, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Not only is this the most worthless pool contractor in the greater Sacramento area, he is also perhaps the least professional person I have ever dealt with in my life. I can't believe the 4.9 stars he has on Yelp. They must either be fake reviews or he likely bribes people to write them. We needed someone to replace the tiles and plaster on our wading pool. His terrible, slow and disjointed communication from the start should have been the first red flag. Finally we manage to schedule a date to remove the old tile and plaster. His team shows up late, removes the plaster and tiles, and leaves without telling me. Now the fun part....they never came back! I called and texted for 4 days with no response. When I finally texted back to say that I assumed they had abandoned the job, he texts back in 5 minutes saying that "his phone had been broken." As an added bonus, his incompetent crew damaged the structure of the pool by jack hammering the old plaster off. Now I get to pay the new contractor extra to repair that before I finally get the new plaster on. STAY AWAY FROM THIS INEPT AND INCOMPETENT BUSINESS UNLESS YOU LIKE WASTING HOURS OF YOUR TIME AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! read more

North Star Pools Plastering - Unprofessional communications - Pool & Hot Tub Service Near Me - Sacramento, California

North Star Pools did a complete makeover of my 37 year old pool. Each crew sent ( demolition, tilers, new construction of a Cabo shelf and steps, cement demo and pouring) was on time, worked swiftly and professionally and was very polite. I chose two color stamped cement and love it. I called them two months later regarding an extremely minor issue and they promptly resolved any of my concerns. I would definitely recommend them. read more

North Star Pools were outstanding with resurfacing my aged pool. They also built a new waterfall and installed a autifill system. They began the process quickly and had a big crew for the demolition and gunnite installation. Antonio was great and made sure I understood the estimate and the work to be done. Alejandra kept me informed and provided the scheduling and after installation follow up instructions. I highly recommend North Star Pools read more

I have worked with North Star Pools on two separate occasions and both jobs were a great experience. The first time I met Antonio was for a 30,000 gallon pool re-plaster which I had three companies quote the job. Antonio laid out the entire process with cost and suggested coatings and alerted me to current codes. I chose North Star based on his knowledge and that he cared about my pool and potential business. It was a no brainer to contact North Star Pools for a complete pool remodel in our new home. From day one Antonio gave my wife and I a vision for our remodeled pool and upon completion we couldn't be happier! From Alejandra, Juan, and Eduardo, the North Face team was fantastic and seeing the transformation of our pool to what it is now was a great experience. A new cabana, new patio, new equipment , to the incredible plaster we couldn't be happier. One day they reached out and asked if we would like accent tile which we didn't inquire about... incredible folks... incredible company. I highly recommend. read more

Ok, so first things first. (Trying to manage expectactions) The communication was a bit confusing at times and I found it difficult. That said, and past that? AMAZING AMAZING Job. I cannot begin to praise this job and how happy I am with it enough. To know how we got here, we have to know how it started, so I bought my house under the impression I had a working pool. 5 days after I moved in, the pool pump died and most of the water leaked out through cracks I was unaware of. It was devastating! I got some quotes to fix it, and that was really not in my budget. Fast forward 8 years, my homeowners insurance decided to drop me and no one would pick me up until I fixed the pool. I wasn't ready for the cost, but I didn't really have a choice if I wanted to continue to be able to insure the biggest purchase I ever made (my house) Now about this pool, it's a real piece of garbage, I would come to find out from the neighbor, it was home made had no plumbing, and was not plumbed correctly. This was like all my worst fears coming true. (Literally at times sick to my stomach about it) Sleepless nights, crying, telling my wife "I don't know what we're going to do." Then Antonio came by, He seemed confident and I really liked something about his character, he didn't say a lot but I believed him and ultimately went with North Star to fix my pool. It was AMAZING the way they took a piece of crap and turned it into a diamond. I have never had service so good. I mean if you understood, this was literally a dream I thought was never going to come true that I had all but given up on. The amount of work and the quality of this job was first class second to none. I cannot praise North Star pools enough. I researched them beforehand and I even read all their one star reviews (to see what I was getting myself into right?) I mean, those reviewers were tire kickers and if you clicked them and read their other reviews they have a history of giving everyone bad reviews. So I didn't find them credible against all the other good ones. I mean it you will see for yourself as I did. Again, let me reiterate, the communication is not their strong suit and if you expect that you will probably be disappointed, but if you sign on with them, shut up, and let them do what they do, they will produce the most stunning results you could ever imagine. I am beyond grateful to Antonio and North Star Pools for the amazing quality job they did. Don't believe me? See the pics for yourself. I shed half a tear every time I walk out and see the pool I thought Id never have. Thank you Antonio, and thank you North Star Pools, for making an 8 year dream come to life. I will refer you to EVERYONE I can and for anyone reading this in need of this type of service, please do yourself a favor and look no further. Use this company for your pool. read more

Antonio and his crew made our dream pool come true. They had impeccable attention to detail and really listened to design requests and desires. Their responsiveness was impressive and they were incredibly easy to communicate with. Many companies will wash their hands of projects the second they're done and demobilized, but Antonio and his crew continued to respond to questions and help once the project was complete. I would 100% recommend North Star Pools. read more

These guys are terrific! After a very thorough in person inspection of our pool and the issues we wanted to address we received a detailed estimate. The price was very reasonable with all items included (we did not have to purchase anything independently). They started right away and in less than a week we have a beautiful "new" pool. These folks are knowledgeable, thorough and responsive. We highly recommend North Star Pools Plastering. You won't regret it. read more

Best replastering company out there! We had a great experience with Antonio and North Star Pools. Our pool looks great and now several of our neighbors will be replastering with North Star also. Communication was great. Alejandra (Antonio's wife) is wonderful at making sure all our questions and concerns were answered. We got to visit the NPT showroom in Rancho Cordova to check out pebble colors and tile selections. While there, the employees said they don't recommend many contractors but Antonio is one of the few they do recommend. He has a good reputation and makes sure he does quality work. Would highly recommend this company if your pool plaster is looking old and you'd like a face lift. We love our Stonescapes Mini Pebble. read more

Thank you so much for your help, with our pool remodel. We had so many leaks and issues. You completed the work over a year ago, offered us a warrantee and held your word. North Star Pools Plastering is by far the best pool replastering company out there bar none. I am not kidding when I say this. We spent a few years researching pool companies and got multiple quotes. As expected, it is not cheap to replaster a pool as it's quite the investment. However, with that being said, the right pool company can ensure that your pool will last many years and continue to provide smiles in the summertime when it's a million degrees outside and you want to jump into your beautiful pool to cool off. Antonio, Alejandra (Antonio's wife), and employees were spectacular. The free onsite quote was quite the painless experience. Antonio was extremely knowledgeable and you can see that he cares about his work. Whenever we had questions, Antonio and Alejandra would answer our questions quickly and without much fuss. I can tell you that we had many questions and they were nothing but patient. We decided to go with the NPT Stonescapes Mini Pebble instead of just plaster. The added cost was well worth it over boring plaster. The pool now pops with the beautiful addition of mini pebbles. We went with Aqua blue mini pebbles with glass beads and abalone shells to give our pool some pop. What a beautiful addition. They hand throw the beads and shells onto the plaster which is a much better method than just throwing them into the mix. It was such a wonderful experience that we recommended Antonio and team to a few of our neighbors on our street. Since our installation, one more neighbor's pool was completed by Antonio and team with another one in progress and near completion. 2 other neighbors will be having their pools replastered in the spring. To check out the many possible pebble colors and tile choices, we visited the NPT showroom in Rancho Cordova. The showroom employees told us that they don't recommend many contractors but Antonio is one of a select few that they absolutely recommend. Antonio and team's reputation definitely shine. You definitely cannot go wrong with North Star Pools. Their estimate came in many thousands of dollars less than other competing pool companies and just talking to Antonio in person was a great experience. He is personally involved in the process from start to end, from onsite visit and quote, through the end at job completion. Wish more owners and businesses were like Antonio and Alejandra. read more

Overall excellent experience with Antonio and whole North Star Pools team. Antonio was able to quickly provide a quote after doing a site visit, which was very reasonable compared with several other companies we got quotes from. It was clear that he was very knowledgeable and provided great recommendations for our remodel. We selected our tile and plaster from NPT, while at the store the NPT service member had nothing but good things to say about Antonio and the quality of service they provide, which was a good sign to me. Once we finalized the contract, they started the job promptly. The entire team were very kind, professional, and were attentive to details. The entire project would have been completed in about 5 days, however after beginning to fill the pool a leak was detected. Antonio was very responsive and attentive to solving our issue without delay. The leak was identified, repaired appropriately and leak detection tests were negative after the repair. After having going through this hiccup, I can say without hesitation that Antonio is very honest and dedicated to providing not only good customer service but also to doing the right thing and a good job. I highly recommend choosing North Star Pools for your future pool remodel! read more

We chose North Star over several others based, in no small part, on their many 5 star reviews, and they did not disappoint. Antonio was the first to respond to the many quote requests I put out, and the only one to bring samples. We knew we'd need to replaster, retile, and change the coping on our pool when we bought this house and spent a long time researching and evaluating contractors. We chose North Star based on their price and commitment to excellence We took the time to pick out the colors and finishes. North Star reinforced our choices and then executed our vision. The change is stunning and the work is superb! Our regular pool maintenance company who's been in business in the Rocklin/Roseville area for over 30 years commented that ours was the best plaster job he's seen. When Antonio told us he instilled pride of workmanship in his crews - to do the work as if it was their pool - he was serious and spot on. The process was fast, demo began 4/16/25 and the pool was refilled on 5/8/25! We can't wait until it's warm enough to jump in! Highly recommend North Star Pools for your pool renovation. read more

Poor communication. No follow up on issues with job improperly completed. After payment was submitted incomplete work was never finished. They did not use our original screw for the under water light fixture and swapped it with another screw which caused a large amount of rust to form in the pool. Several attempt to ask them to remove and replace with the proper screw were ignored. Update: I wrote yet another message to Northstar only to continue to be ignored. read more

North Star Pools did an outstanding job resurfacing my pool over two highly efficient days. The first day was demolition, where a skilled crew of about eight workers arrived fully equipped with trucks, jackhammers, drills, and other heavy-duty tools. They broke the old concrete surface into thousands of pieces, which was quite noisy and required a lot of labor to haul away, but they powered through it with precision and teamwork. The second day brought a different crew of eight individuals, each handling specialized tasks for the plastering process. Both teams were friendly and worked in perfect sync, completing each phase in less than half a day while keeping the site clean. The final result is a beautifully resurfaced pool that now looks brand-new--filled with water, it's absolutely stunning! Owner Antonio provided an incredibly competitive estimate that was far more attractive than other bids I received. At first, I was skeptical about the price, how could it be so low, but after reading countless positive reviews praising their quality work and great value, I felt confident and went forward. Now, I can confidently say I'm another happy customer! North Star Pools delivered on every promise--expert and courteous workers, top-notch equipment, efficiency, and outstanding results. Highly recommend! read more

I bought the perfect house in Elk Grove with a "not so perfect" pool, to say the least! After searching for pool & plastering companies North Star just stood out!! I reached out to Antonio for a quote to re-surface the pool & spa, He came to the property the next day & submitted not only a great price but the timeframe was incredible...if it wasn't for our extreme heat wave it would've been finished last Friday! We had North Star Pools redo our pool and it looks fantastic. The old smooth plaster was looking mottled and we had an area where the rebar was rusting through the plaster . North Star removed the old plaster, pumped in the new plaster with the micro pebble surface, replaced the old lights with LED's and replaced the drains at the bottom of the pool. It was a fascinating process to see and, although it was very hard work, based on the laughter coming from these guys, they really enjoy working together. I highly recommend North Star. North Star Pools Plastering did an outstanding job replastering my pool. North Star had the most competitive price. I worked closely with Antonio the whole step of the way and stayed in constant communication by phone and text to get updates on scheduling since there was rain holding up the scheduling. When North Star Pools was onsite they worked diligently. It took four workers one day to remove the old tile and plaster, it took one worker three days to do the tile, it took 7 workers (not exactly sure if there 6, 7, or 8 workers) one day to do the plaster. I very pleased with the work that North Star Pools Plastering has done for me. I highly recommend North Star Pools for their workmanship and competitive pricing. Notes on my project: Pool is roughly a 25,000 gallon pool and is about 40 years old. The last time this pool was replastered was 23 years ago and the tile is original from 40 years ago. I decided to go with white plaster again for two reason: one is because I like the blue color of the pool against the white plaster and two because this is a rental so it is the cheapest way to go. FYI Some companies don't offer white plaster anymore. read more

Northstar Pools did a great job refurbishing our 40 year old, 40,000 gallon pool. Had never been re-plastered since installation in the 80s. We found Antonio and his Northstar crew to be energetic, quick, and skillful. Each leg of the project looked to be staffed with the appropriate number of workers. Would unquestionably use them again. Priced reasonably, and the installation appears to be of good quality for our new pebble tec finish. Antonio, the owner, had great advice, but also let us make our own decisions which we appreciate it.
