We had our first pool built by Century in 2016 and the experience was overall, good, but not great. We mainly dealt with Cory & Mike throughout the pool Construction process. The communication was the main issue, & they admitted they were overwhelmed at that time and they needed more help. There were a couple of other things that took place that we were not happy about like for example: an irrigation leak that flooded a small area in our backyard (they fixed it), and tiles installed that we liked, but never confirmed with anyone regarding installing them. Then, they didn't have anymore tiles to complete what we envisioned. Again, communication can resolve issues. Given this situation, they deserve 4 stars and not 3 like we originally gave them. Given the facts that the pool was beautifully built, and we never really had major issues with the equipment as long as we used that pool. We attempted to utilize them at our new home and they refused to build a pool in Lincoln. Oh well! We moved on to another builder, and boy oh boy did prices increase (as expected). Lastly, my younger brother used Century, and they did a nice job and built the pool fast during COVID.

What we didn't realize at the time was that he was the main reason our pool was always dialed in. The company we stayed with wasn't even coming some weeks. As someone whose grandparents owned a pool company growing up and having worked for them, I knew what basic maintenance was not being performed... plus, we have cameras in the backyard. You may ask,"If you can do the work, why don't you?". Sadly, it's more a glaring indictment of my laziness, but that's not the point ;) There were other challenges with the previous company as well so we decided to cut ties and I begged Troy yesterday to take us back. Not only did he respond immediately, but he gave me an exact quote, timetable, and what he could do. I mentioned the current state of the pool, and we had an event coming up, and he made time to take a look and even got started. I highly recommend Troy (and his company) to anyone looking for a pool tech. Not only is he a professional, but you can tell he takes pride in his work, which is almost a superpower in itself these days. I was also impressed that he installed the LVP flooring in such a way that we will not need transition pieces into our tiled bathroom flooring (see pictures). Our place is fairly new and minimal work needed to be done but we have pets who have taken a toll on our stairs. With little to no knowledge of stairs or how to repair a large chunk of wood missing from my pup chewing (GRRRR), I needed a professional to come in and take a look and assess what needs to be done. After several failed attempts to get a handyman that does both wood/wall and carpet on stairs, we came across Gunn. He was quick to respond and came out to take a look and give a quote. After a very thorough look and rundown of what can be done, We decided to go with him. Gunn is very professional and seems passionate about his line of work. After approving his quote, we scheduled a day to come out and him to get to work. He got straight to it once he arrived. We did our best to stay out of the way while he worked so we hung out around the neighborhood since he was working on our stairs. He tackled the chewed wood on the wall with a composite materials which he sanded down to match the existing wood and then painted it over. While he was doing that he was also pulling the old carpet and putting in the new stuff. Before we knew it, he was done. We looked it over together and went over any potential issues. Gunn insisted that if we were unhappy with anything to give him a call and he would be happy to take a look. We were very much satisfied with the finished product and thankful for the professional service we received. He was very professional and reliable not to mention very fast. All the other contractors said it would be 3 weeks or more and Dale and his A Team got it done in less than 2 weeks! We got texts and emails letting us know when the various jobs were scheduled and then a text when the professional was on their way. Excellent communication. The best part is that the wall and door look 100% like they were built when we got the house, down to the texture of the wall and the color of the paint. It doesn't look like we got it a few years later at all. Very happy with Dale and will absolutely reach out again for any future projects.

Fernando did all the work to deal with the city and permits . I don't agree that Fernando cuts corners . Fernando gives you a contract . As a home owner if you want to add QUALITY or More high end material it will run at your own expense. In our case certain things were over our allowance and we knew that from the start. At the end of the day it was an investment for our home. Fernando was always one call away . At all times to answer any questions or concerns. From start to finish we never had a problem nor was it stressful. I'm actually going to miss calling him to ask him random questions I highly recommend hiring him for your next project . My friends also mentioned he was honest and trust worthy and the quote that he gave me was in the middle of the 3 that I received. His quote was also the most detailed and easy to comprehend since I do not know much about the construction process. The fixer upper town home that I bought needed a big time remodel keeping just the frame of it. So he had to do re-piping, changing the floors, redoing 2.5 baths, redoing all closets, creating the island, redoing the whole kitchen including cabinetry, tiles, counters, installing new appliances, hardware, electrical work, light fixtures, 3 sky tunnels, dry wall and painting. He also had his team assemble and fix some shelves and wire racks which I had ordered for the home. Fernando, apart from being a contractor, is an architect so he had good vision and his suggestions seemed very appropriate. I gave him the choice to make decisions for many things and ALL of them were spot-on! The area that he impressed me the most was when I told him to figure out a way to open up the staircase walls, and they were load bearing walls so he told me he had to think about how best to do it and came up with a lovely idea and the finished look turned out absolutely fantastic!!! (picture enclosed). He has a good team of workers who were working every Saturday for 10 weeks to finish my home on time, which is rare with construction workers. I do think I got lucky that I had a contractor like Fernando to create my beautiful home & I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a good, efficient and honest contractor. Details: We bought a home in December 2020 and knew there would need to be some remodeling to get it to be the space we wanted. Joel came out to give us a quote before we had even closed on the home, and he was one of our favorite contractors from the start. He followed up with us while we decided which pieces would be our priority, and called to check-in while we decided on contractors. This follow-up was a big reason that we went with Joel and his team. A lot of contractors we met with were rude, didn't care about the job, and overall didn't seem to be client focused. He was one of the lower priced quotes, which of course helped as well. His team was fantastic once the job started. I appreciated that they wore masks when they were in the home, and communication was great throughout the process. There were some headaches involving plumbing once we opened up the ceiling, but that was due to us adding to the scope last minute more than anything else. I've already recommended them to friends, and we will continue to work with them on future projects.

We have five+ bathrooms in our house. Usher Construction pursued our business for about 1.5 years…read morebefore we decided to give them a remodel job for two of our bathrooms to test them out prior to potentially engage them for a bigger remodel project for the remaining bathrooms. Usher's rates were significantly higher than the other comps we received, but they sold us on their self-claimed superior quality and project management communications. This project (and the subject of this review) - is for two of our full bathrooms. It started because we had an issue with a leak in our children's bathroom. The water damaged the baseboard near the tub and part of the door frame. Contract stated the work length would be 4 weeks from start of work; actual project took 3 times longer than contracted - took over 12 weeks from start of work. This was not due to any issues on our side or with our house. While the project had a solid start in terms of prep and tile, we received little to no contact after the cabinets were ordered about two weeks into the project. We had to do repeated follow-up's with both the cabinet maker company and Usher. No communication in spite of repeated outreaches by us via texts and emails. Multitude of issues throughout and after this project: - Shower doors' hardware colors didn't match in spite of requesting same color from the color swatches for both bathrooms. One set installed was one color and the other set was installed a different color. Turns out the subcontractor did not have same colored hardware for the two shower door types; they did not tell us about this and we were not informed before the hardware was installed. - Toilet handles installed backwards for both bathrooms. - Lighting in one bathroom had to be redone because it wasn't centered. - Touch up's on damaged walls missed and had to be repaired. - Baseboard: As we reviewed the work done, we found that the damaged baseboard replacement was not included. We reached out to Usher to see if we can add this work as we already had the new and painted baseboard. All that was required was the actual labor of replacing a single small piece of baseboard and we asked for a quote on the labor. Usher wouldn't give quote at first, saying it was our miss for not including this minor work in scope even though they had inspected the bathroom prior to starting work to draft the contract scope (we told them we had water damage - that's why we were remodeling), we are not home remodeling experts like they are. Later, Usher quoted us more than $3k to do this, citing that they needed to source the material, replace and repaint (even though we previously informed Usher that we already had the brand new, painted baseboard part). Needless to say, we found the $3K quote was just a way of telling us that they didn't want to do this work, so we did not proceed with them on this. Multitude of issues within 1-2 years after the remodel was completed: - Usher upsold us on a bathroom fan that was supposed to be quieter and better at clearing humidity in the bathroom. But it did not work as well as the previous fan and the bathroom was constantly musty in spite of attempts to clear the humidity by opening window and door. It took nearly 12 months between 1st contact about bathroom fan not working well and wanting to know if we can make adjustments / repair, to Usher finally completing a setting change. - Shower drain doesn't drain well in spite of us keeping a regular schedule of cleaning and clearing the drain. This did not happen with our previous drain. The bathroom has now flooded multiple times and the shower floor tile and bedroom carpet now discolored. - Sliding shower doors never closed properly on both sides, so water consistently splashed out and have warped one of our baseboards. We contacted the shower glass company recently (subcontractors to Usher) and they will come inspect. - Two years after the remodel: this summer, one of the toilets started leaking from the base. Was informed and shown by professional plumber the reason for leak. Previously when Usher staff had reinstalled the toilet, they did not clean or remove the old o-ring; instead, they just reinstalled the toilet. The deteriorated, dirty o-ring failed to properly seal the toilet to the floor drain, thus causing the leak. The only positive aspect of the remodel was the tile design work. That was done by a tile specialist designer and the tile installation subcontractor. The cabinet work took more than twice as long as promised, but the finish quality was solid. Hence the two stars. With the number of available remodeling companies who will compete for business - especially those who now include compensation or financial consequence due to delays in their contracts - we do not recommend using Usher Construction.
